Verde pentru biciclete (Green for Bycicles)
Romina Faur,Emil Cristescu
Timisoara Physical Education and Rehabilitation Journal , 2011,
Abstract: The campaign “Verde pentru biciclete” (Engl. “Green for bicycles”) is the first official initiative from Timi oara that encourages adopting cycling as an ecological and economical alternative to urban transportation; this addresses the citizens of Timi oara and not only, regardless of age. “Verde pentru biciclete” is a pedalling movement supported by the Bega Foundation, in collaboration with the Gratzu Sportive Club, KissFM, Ziua de Vest, Agenda and agenda.ro. The debut of the campaign took place of October 25th 2008, with the first “Verde pentru biciclete” event – “The bicycles Counting”. All the events that followed were held to draw attention on the importance of cycling, together with obtaining of certain facilities, necessary for the cyclists’ safe movement in traffic. Moreover, a number of communication platforms have been created between the fans of cycling; thus, the website www.pedaleaza.ro has been created, through which those interested can inform themselves or communicate on the forum and discussions group verde_pentru_biciclete@yahoogroups.com o through the social network Facebook (facebook.com/ verdepentrubiciclete). This paper presents the activities held within the campaign since its beginning until today, as well as our future plans.
On the Persistence Layers in Relational Databases with Multiple Concurrent Connections
Gheorghe Faur
Journal of Applied Computer Science & Mathematics , 2008,
Abstract: Very often, especially in the public sector, arise the need to cope with multiple concurrent connection to a database that might lay on a limited hardware platform, having poor technology resources so, in this case, by intercalary a persistence layer between the database and logical layer could solve the problem with efficiency and flexibility.
A Generic Information Factory for a National Public Institution
Gheorghe Faur
Journal of Applied Computer Science & Mathematics , 2008,
Abstract: In Romania a public institution have to cope with gathering, analyzing and use of large amounts of data. For this issue, having in mind that almost all institutions subordinated to the government handle the data in the same way, we will try to define a generic information factory at a higher level of abstraction in a manner in which it could be applied to a large number of national public institutions. For accomplish this task we have studied the structure of a national public institution, namely Labor Inspection. The case study reveals the actual informational chaos and a way to put some order in gathering, analyzing and use of data and information by management level competencies.
STUDY ABOUT THE ROLE OF COMPUTER-ASSISTED INSTRUCTION IN BIOLOGY
Mariana FAUR
Annals of West University of Timi?oara : Series of Biology , 2012,
Abstract: The computer-assisted instruction play an increasingly important role in providing enhancement to instruction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of computer assisted instruction in Biology lessons. In this study we compared the differences in retention of information by pupils using the two different instructional modes, CAI or written text. Initial results of the study indicated that pupils in treatment classes with the computer-assisted instruction, and in control classes, all made important gains in knowledge. Further research may be needed to determine whether the students' improved learning performance could be attributed to the use of the computer or to the restructuring of the conventional lesson with interesting informations.
Género, masculinidades y políticas de conciliación familia-trabajo
Eleonor Faur

Abstract: The variations of the total water content and of the free and bound fractions in Lolium multiflorum Lam. were studied in a structural solonetz having moderate depth columns and sodium sulfate salinization. The plants were cultivated in conditions of an experimental field at the Experimental Center for the saline and alkalinous soil melioration from Socodor (Arad district). Before the experiment in the field was installed an underground drainage system consisting in ceramics tubes. After this installations followed a salts washing with a rate of 2500 m3 water/hectare. Three years after these hydromeliorated complex measures was set up an experiment of application of some different types and doses of chemical fertilizers in amendmented and unamendmented conditions three times administered in the next variants: V1 - N0P0K0; V2 - N120; V3 - K50; V4 - P80; V5 - N120K50; V6 - N120P80K50. The application of the amendments as 50 tons phosphogypsum/hectare determined water content increase in the leaf cells. The same effect had the chemical fertilizer applications but this effect was different according with the type of the fertilization. The highest action of the growth of the total water content and of bound water fraction had the nitrogen fertilization especially when this fertilization was made by the balance with phosphorous and potassium. It is notice a lower effect of potassium fertilization on the water keeping in the cells due probably of high content of sodium in the halomorphous soils suggesting an unspecific involving in the maintain of the cell turgor. The phosphogypsum application diminish the supplementary fertilization efficiency with phosphorous in the plants cultivated on halomorphous soils.

MONITORING THE ALLERGENIC POLLEN FROM THE AIRPLANCTON IN 2000
Nicoleta Ianovici,A. Faur
Annals of West University of Timi?oara : Series of Biology , 2003,
Abstract: This study is intended to determine the annual dissemination means of the pollen grains in the Timisoara’s atmosphere for the year 2000. In this study we present a pollenic calendar for the mentioned region. In the investigated area, the season with maximum pollen concentration was late summer-fall (August). In the first months of the monitoring period, prevailed the pollen coming from anemophile trees and in the last months the pollen coming from anemophile herbaceous plants. Ambrosia, Poaceae, Urtica and Artemisia gave the highest pollen quantities identified in the airplancton. During the studied year, there were identified 23 pollen types. The most important anemophile taxa were: wooden magnoliates (14), herbaceous magnoliates (6), liliates (1) and pinnates (2). The monitoring supplied us with valuable information regarding the dissemination of some anthropophile species (Ambrosia) whose pollen is known as a strong allergen.
QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE STUDY OF THE ATMOSPHERIC POLLEN IN 2001
Nicoleta IANOVICI,Aurel FAUR
Annals of West University of Timi?oara : Series of Biology , 2004,
Abstract: This study is intended to emphasize the annual dynamics of the pollen grains of the SW Romanian airplancton. In the investigated area, for the year 2001, the maximum pollen quantity was reached in March and August. During the studied year, 24 pollen types were collected and identified. In Timisoara, the most important anemophile taxa belong to wooden magnoliates (14), herbaceous magnoliates (6), liliates (2) and pinnates (2). Responsible for the greatest pollen quantities are Poaceae (18.32%), Ambrosia (14.89%), Artemisia (9.54%), Urtica (7.67%), Betula (4.87%), Populus (4.68%). In this study we present the pollenic calendar with weekly dynamics.
BIOLOGIC POLLUTION WITH GRASSES’S POLLEN IN THE SOUTH-WEST OF ROMANIA
A. Faur,Nicoleta Ianovici
Annals of West University of Timi?oara : Series of Biology , 2001,
Abstract: Among airborne allergens, a frequent cause of sensibilisation is grasses pollen. In big cities, because of the high buildings, which restrict air circulation, little pollen grains deposit is bigger than in the rural uninhabited areas, where pollen dispersion is easier. The purpose of the present study is that of establishing the level of the biologic air pollution in Timisoara and the limitrophe areas with grasses pollen for the year 2000.
