Local and regional richness and rarity of leaf-litter ants: An overview from spacial scale in neotropical region  [PDF]
Manoel Fernando Demétrio, Rogério Silvestre
Open Journal of Animal Sciences (OJAS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ojas.2013.32A002
Abstract: An unusual approach about richness and rarity of leaf-litter ant species is presented here from a dry forest reminiscent in Pantanal province (Chacoan subregion) suggesting the boundaries that defining local and regional scales for this particular ant community. We analysed the frequency of distribution of 170 ant species collected on 262 Winkler’s samples along Serra da Bodoquena National Park, Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil and described some ecological mechanisms that made the species richness estimates be highly influenced by species with low frequencies of records in an extent regional of a pristine dry forest. Bayesian inference was conducted to provide if the probability of latitudinal gradient was correlated with the species richness to define alpha diversity.

Cidade, subjetividade e território: representa??es de moradores de favelas
Lopes, José Rogério;
Intera??es (Campo Grande) , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-70122007000100009
Abstract: the article presents an analysis of the relation between space, subjectivity and knowledge based on an ethnographic study developed in a slum pertaining to the town of ubatuba, in the state of s?o paulo, brazil. the analysis is centered on the discussion of terms that define social-spatial perceptions among impoverished subjects, analyzing the social content that permeates the use of such terms and that makes it possible to characterize distinctions to the analysis of social-spatial relations that are marked by social inequality.
A economia clássica contra os fatos ou Sismondi entre os ricardianos
Arthmar, Rogério;
Economia e Sociedade , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-06182009000200002
Abstract: this paper deals with the debate which opposed sismondi and the ricardian economists, in the first half of the nineteenth century, on the equilibrium of markets, the role of competition and the effects of machinery in industrial societies. at the initial section, the main content of sismondi's critical rhetoric toward the classical orthodoxy is reconstituted. after that, the replies of mcculloch and colonel torrens are detailed, specially their defense of free competition and the unlimited character of demand, as well as of the inroads of machinery in the productive process. the third part considers sismondi's rejoinder when he reinforces his theory of a general glut from a historical perspective of capitalism. in the end, and having in sight this particular controversy, a brief assessment of ricardo's legacy to political economy is made.
Por um novo conceito de comunidade: redes sociais, comunidades pessoais, inteligência coletiva
Costa, Rogério da;
Interface - Comunica??o, Saúde, Educa??o , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-32832005000200003
Abstract: this text essentially deals with the transmutation of the concept of "community" into "social networks". this change is due largely to the explosion of virtual communities in cyberspace, a fact that generated a number of studies, not only on this new way of weaving a society, but also on the structural dynamics of communication networks. at the core of this transformation, concepts such as social capital, trust and partial sympathy are called upon, so that we may think about the new forms of association that regulate human activity in our times.
Tumor hepático experimental (VX-2) em coelho: implanta??o do modelo no Brasil
Hossne, Rogério Saad;
Acta Cirurgica Brasileira , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-86502002000400002
Abstract: studies for investigation of new therapeutic modalities in tumoral biology should be based on previous experimental studies. then, there are a great variety of tumoral experimental models today. some investigations have been done necessary an adaptation of the tumoral model to the needing of the studies biological and pathological. so, in our laboratory, we looked for a tumoral hepatic model for experimental studies with the following characteristics: easy manipulation, control of growing, evolution and aggressiveness like to humans. data of the literature took us the search of the hepatic tumor vx-2, in rabbits. in this article we discussed the advantages of use this experimental model and its introduction in our country. experimental hepatic tumor (vx-2) in rabbit. implantation of the model in brazil.
Antropologia, educa??o e condicionamentos culturais: pensando as media??es no processo de socializa??o escolar
Lopes, José Rogério;
Educar em Revista , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40602009000100012
Abstract: the present article addresses the path that the relation between anthropology and education in brazil has taken, naming the anthropologists' concerns towards the study of education. research on this area has turned evident the change in the contexts of cultural diversity, which previously used to focus on subjects and on isolated or less integrated groups, and now points to a place of cultural diversity that replicates itself precisely through the integration of those very same subjects and groups to the model of western development and on the institutional relationship in which the various categories of subjects are today conditioned. the purpose of such new situation, where cultural conditioning, which are traditionally formed in ways of life that hardly communicate, start to establish a speed economy of material and symbolical trades, is still on sketch. however, it is possible to presently discuss the character of the mediations at stake in the institutional relationship, trying to recognize the elements that are important for the analysis of new conditioning movements operating today on the school education. following this line of thought, this article presents a review of the mediation category, according to raymond williams' theory, in order to discuss the structural changes that contemporary society has endured, along with the unfolding in the socialization process (or institutionalization). such review focus primarily on the changes that affect the effective mediation in this process for and through the school.
Notas em torno de retratos de crian?a
Fernandes, Rogério;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022000000100007
Abstract: by highlighting the polysemic character of the word ?child?, this paper questions such polysemy in past times. the paper asserts that the word ?child? has many times been substituted by others with the purpose of designating more properly the phases of the child development. by doing that, the classic study by philippe ariès about the feeling of childhood during the middle age is questioned. the analyses start from a re-reading of the chronicle of d. jo?o i, by fern?o lopes, and it traces in the author?s text the words used to denote ?child? in its current meaning. the paper?s objective was to investigate one of the works of this great author of the portuguese language in the period studied. besides lopes? work, some other pages of the literature that present the child in different situations were also examined. the analyses allowed the reconstruction of various representations of children that revealed significant facets of the portuguese pedagogical thinking as regards ways of conceiving the childhood. the paper concludes by arguing for the need of a plural understanding of the term childhood. the plurality would signal to various profiles that this historical, social and psychological category allows. the study also calls attention to the fact that the portraits of children have not come directly from the children themselves but they have been made by those that were no longer children.
Forma??o de educadores e contexto de trabalho: contribui??es da investiga??o-a??o às práticas educativas-assistenciais
Pinheiro, Leandro Rogério;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022007000200004
Abstract: this essay presents results of a research carried out with the coordinators of a social assistance and educational center in porto alegre (brazil) - center for the promotion of the child and adolescent (cpca) - located in the borough of lomba do pinheiro, an environment where children and teenagers build strong pedagogical and socio-symbolical references based on the relationships developed with the center's educators. with the aim of problematizing "how the educators' formation influences the educative practices conducted with the educated", the work is carried out under the perspective of action-investigation with the support of observation techniques, relational maps and interviews, seeking to learn about the life trajectories of the subjects and to characterize the work context constructed in the organization. at the same time, the inferences constructed point out that the educators establish relationships strongly based on the "protection" of the educated, encourage practices that are not emancipative, and stimulate hierarchy with respect to the community. the information organized here has been oriented to problematize the pedagogical framework routinely employed, with the purpose of encouraging the production of new socio-educative relations.
A prática educativa como uma atividade de desencontro de sujeitos
Rodrigues, Rogério;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022007000300004
Abstract: broadly speaking, educators assume that the educative practice is something that takes place in the transmission of knowledges that emerges out of an encounter between subjects. however, in the relations established between the subjects, and especially in what concerns the field of the use of words, one experiences what can be described as a "misunderstanding", for we say what we do not think, and hear what has not been said. in the educative field we therefore have the profound conviction that the relations are of encounter between subjects, when, paradoxically and to the educators' despair, we actually have an activity of disaccord between subjects. in this article, we seek to analyze educative practices in the dynamics of the disaccord between subjects. it is this disaccord that in a certain sense reveals the chink in the pedagogical knowledge, and evinces the fragility of these educational knowledges. we assume the freudian perspective put forward in the preface to the book by august aichhorn (1925), in which we find the statement that there are three impossible professions: educating, curing, and governing. our hypothesis is that the educative practice is the accomplishment of a task that requires from the educators a permanent deconstruction of the pedagogical principles that "thingify" the subject/educated - the desolation of not knowing how to educate.
