Abstract: this study aimed to report the construction of the items for the professional choice self-efficacy scale (eae-ep). in the first step a search in an international database was carried out to raise the production on the subject. in the second, it was proceeded to the implementation of an open-answer instrument in 149 subjects of different educational and occupational situations. content analysis of the answers was carried out, grouping them into four categories, which were reviewed by judges. finally, the third step involved the pilot application of the original version in high school students to evaluate the clarity of the instructions and wording of items. the results indicated no need for changes in the structure of the scale, that in future studies may have tested its psychometric properties.

Abstract: this study aimed to analyse the brazilian scientific production in the professional counseling area from 1950 decade to 2005. for such, the authors proceeded the search in the bvs and indexpsi electronic database in february, 2006, using the keywords professional counseling, vocacional counseling, professional insterests, professional choice and interests tests. from this search, references and abstracts were extracted, from those that offered it. the results revealed that there were a increasing in the production since 1990 decade and that the works studied about theoretical review and the quality of assessment instruments. among the most used evaluation strategies were found the interviews and other and the interests tests.

Abstract: the study of instruments of psychological assessment in the context of vocational guidance is of fundamental importance, since it provides a greater reliability and enriches the interpretation of the results obtained. this research explored the correlation between the dimensions of the escala de aconselhamento profissional and the sections skills, careers and abilities of the self-directed search career explorer. the vocational advice scale is an instrument that evaluates the preferences for vocational activities and the self-directed search career explorer draws the typological profile of the individuals' interests. the participants included 132 students (54.5% were women), with average age of 15.9 years, attending private high schools in s?o paulo state. the results demonstrated significant correlations (p<0.05) between some types of self-directed search career explorer and the escala de aconselhamento profissional dimensions. further research should be developed in order to contribute to studies on new or existing instruments.

Abstract: the use of psychometrically adjusted instruments to the context in which they will be used is important to trust the psychological assessments process. in professional counseling situations, such use has the same importance, since different constructs analyses must provide a better self-knowledge, facilitating an adequate professional choice. the goal of this study was to correlate different intelligence and vocational interests instruments, answered by 312 students from a vocational counseling process, with age average 16.13 years old (sd = 2.07). results showed significant correlations between bpr-5 and lip, in one hand, and between inv and angelini, in the other. new studies with larger and more geographically heterogeneous samples are suggested, aiming to get more validity evidences, mainly to the not approved instruments by the federal institution that regulates psychological test use.

Abstract: this study analyzed the level of importance that psychology students give to their competence and knowledge in psychological assessments. one hundred and twelve students from the central-west region of the country, mainly women, from all periods of the course, participated in the study.the questionnaire used was based on the definition of essential competencies as indicated by the american psychological association,and was composed by 20 items answered separately for competence and importance. it addressed themes like knowledge about psychological constructs and how to use and interpret tests, among others. items considered less important were "having statistical notions" and "knowing a wide range of tests". some contradictions were found when importance and knowledge were compared, as for example in the knowledge of statistical principles. the anova statistical analysis revealed few differences related to importance items between students of different years of the course, but most knowledge items showed significant differences.

Abstract: Apesar de ser um direito dos participantes, n o é comum se observar a es de devolu o dos resultados de pesquisas em Psicologia com seres humanos. O presente trabalho consiste em um relato de experiência que tem como objetivo apresentar um processo de devolutiva de dados coletados para um projeto de doutorado, com foco na constru o de um instrumento para uso em orienta o profissional. Os participantes da pesquisa foram 747 estudantes dos ensinos médio e técnico, de escolas públicas e particulares, que responderam instrumentos de avalia o de autoeficácia para atividades ocupacionais, interesses profissionais e tra os de personalidade. As entrevistas devolutivas foram realizadas de forma coletiva para alunos de primeiro e segundo anos e de forma individual para aqueles de terceiro ano. As entrevistas, semiestruturadas, foram conduzidas por psicólogos mestrandos e doutorandos em Psicologia, acompanhados por observadores, estudantes de gradua o em Psicologia. Em geral, os participantes relataram que os resultados foram positivos, à medida que muitos deles comentaram que essa a o foi importante para refletir sobre a escolha profissional e o autoconhecimento. A pesar de ser un derecho de los participantes, no es común la observación de acciones de devolución de los resultados de investigaciones en Psicología con seres humanos. El presente trabajo consiste en un relato de experiencia que tiene como objetivo presentar un proceso de devolutiva de datos recolectados para un proyecto de doctorado, con enfoque en la construcción de un instrumento para el uso en orientación profesional. Los participantes de la investigación han sido 747 estudiantes de las ense anzas secundaria y técnica, de escuelas públicas y privadas, que han respondido instrumentos de evaluación de autoeficacia para actividades ocupacionales, intereses profesionales y características de personalidad. Las entrevistas devolutivas han sido llevadas a cabo de forma colectiva para los alumnos de primero y segundo grados, y de forma individual para aquellos del tercer grado. Las entrevistas, semiestructuradas, han sido conducidas por psicólogos que estudian maestría y doctorado en Psicología, acompa ados por observadores, estudiantes de graduación en Psicología. En general, los participantes han relatado que los resultados han sido positivos, a medida que muchos de ellos han comentado que esa acción ha sido importante para reflejar sobre la elección profesional y el autoconocimiento. Estudo correlacional entre interesses profissionais e vivências acadêmicas no ensino superior

Abstract: the vocational interest is one of the appraised constructs when accomplished to the vocational guidance process, although it is possible to confirm that there are gaps in its definition, and a small number of researches investigating it in the college students and their relations to academic success. the present research had as objective analyzing the relations between vocational interests and academic existences of college students, in the first and last semesters of two courses (administration and advocacy). the participants were 159 college students, between 17 and 51 years old. the instruments applied were “escala de aconselhamento profissional” (eap) and “questionário de vivências acadêmicas” (qva-r). the results showed a significant mean difference among the instruments regarding to the course, and only qva-r showed differences between the students of first and last semesters. positive and significant correlations between bureaucratic and social/humanistic sciences activities with career and study existences were found.

Modeling quality of adaptive mobile user interfaces

Abstract: the use of mobile devices is now worldwide. mobile and pervasive computing deals with the development of software applications for these devices in wireless environments. the development cost is high since there are no market standards for these devices and the application is often designed ad hoc. the user interface in particular is constrained by limited resources such as memory, display size and resolution, and it varies for each type of commercial display. the goal of this work is to characterize the adaptive user interface component of a mobile application using a quality model for evaluating the quality provided by its architectural solutions. quality properties are given for each architectural solution; as a consequence, the reliability of the application is improved, and the development costs are lowered. the identification of functional and non-functional requirements for the adaptive user interface plays an important role in our approach, since they are directly related with the quality properties which drive the architectural choices. our approach is applied to a case study in the e-banking domain.
