Abstract: chronic wounds represent a challenge for the health team as well as for the patient in regards to how to handle them, long term follow up, cosmetic results, effects on the quality of life and self-esteem. this article emphasizes initially on a patient with a complex secondary abdominal wound of the colon and secondary massive fecal contamination. secondly, it reviews the objectives of the local treatment of the wound and describes some types of dressings, their composition, characteristics and indications. products such as hydrocolloids, ashes, hydrogel, polyurethane foams and silver soaked dressings are included. last, it emphasizes the fact that the treatment of chronic wounds must restore a balance in the factors that determine a good healing process. its management must be complex, organized and based on a tight cooperation between the health team and the patient.

Apoyo a la integración urbana y regional de la zona fronteriza del Eje Vial N° 1 Piura – Guayaquil: una aproximación desde una perspectiva binacional y sostenible

Abstract: Support for urban and regional integration of the frontier zone of the Axis Road N° 1 Piura – Guayaquil: an aproach from a binational and sustainable perspective The objective of this paper is to show a concrete experience of territorial management of the frontier zone of the Axis Road N° 1 Piura–Guayaquil formed by Zarumilla Province (Perú) and Huaquillas and Arenillas Cantons (Ecuador), from a binational and sustainable perspective, having as regional framework the Region of Tumbes (Perú) and El Oro Province (Ecuador). In this study area there are social inequities, such as scarce educational opportunities, insufficient youngsters’ training and health access. Thus, the university education supply is short, which gives way to youngsters’ emigration to Tumbes, Machala and other cities when they want to get a university education. Health services are also insufficient in terms of infrastructure, equipment, human resources, and quality of the services offered, which justifies a territorial management.
The semiclassical tool in mesoscopic physics
Rodolfo A. Jalabert
Physics , 1999,
Abstract: Semiclassical methods are extremely valuable in the study of transport and thermodynamical properties of ballistic microstructures. By expressing the conductance in terms of classical trajectories, we demonstrate that quantum interference phenomena depend on the underlying classical dynamics of non-interacting electrons. In particular, we are able to calculate the characteristic length of the ballistic conductance fluctuations and the weak localization peak in the case of chaotic dynamics. Integrable cavities are not governed by single scales, but their non-generic behavior can also be obtained from semiclassical expansions (over isolated trajectories or families of trajectories, depending on the system). The magnetic response of a microstructure is enhanced with respect to the bulk (Landau) susceptibility, and the semiclassical approach shows that this enhancement is the largest for integrable geometries, due to the existence of families of periodic orbits. We show how the semiclassical tool can be adapted to describe weak residual disorder, as well as the effects of electron-electron interactions. The interaction contribution to the magnetic susceptibility also depends on the nature of the classical dynamics of non-interacting electrons, and is parametrically larger in the case of integrable systems.

Abstract: introduction: the potential for altered nutritional status in critically ill patients with either acute (acute respiratory distress syndrome-ards/acute lung injury-ali) or chronic pulmonary disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is significant. weight loss in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease has a negative effect on the clinical course of the patient. causes of weight loss in this population are known to include effects of an energy imbalance, increased cytokines, hypoxia, and glucocorticoid use. nutritional support is often indicated as a treatment modality. methods: we searched 1026 articles and was selected 87 articles. results: several enteral and parenteral formulas (en-pn) have been suggested to help counteract the possible adverse respiratory effects associated with a standard formula with higher carbohydrates content to reduce ventilator demand of the patients. however, the use of these specialized enteral formulas in individuals with pulmonary disease remains controversial. conclusion: the purposes of this systematic review was to synthesize the factors associated with malnutrition in pulmonary diseases and to evaluate the rationale for use of modified parenteral and enteral formulas in both chronic and acute pulmonary disease. this paper includes the available studies evaluating the efficacy of these formulas, and provides overall recommendations for the use of specialized formulas in individuals with pulmonary disease.
Crisis y transformaciones recientes en la región vitivinícola argentina: Mendoza y San Juan, 1970-2005
Richard-Jorba, Rodolfo A.;
Estudios sociales (Hermosillo, Son.) , 2008,
Abstract: this article shows an overview of the changes produced in the great winemaker region of argentine during the last 35 years. there is a special reference to the institutional, managerial, technical and labor innovations. the reference to some antecedents about a century of viticulture developments allows us to appreciate the transformations of the industry and the role of the implicated social actors. it is important to emphasize the changes performed by the state that acted as promoter, regulator and manager, non regulator and promoter again but always connected with the manager sectors. the accelerated process of changes which happened from the 1990 decade presupposed a reorientation of the activity that has been concentrated in the internal market. this process placed the region at the international market of fine wines. the analysis at regional level is complemented with the changes produced at business firms level and the developed strategies to grow and compete.
La cirugía de revascularización coronaria: ?Hay avances que han impactado en este escenario: En su manejo y el contexto de las complicaciones mecánicas?

Abstract: the actual therapeutic guidelines, look to conceive reperfusion of the infarcted myocardial areas in less time with pharmacological treatment, interventionist procedures or surgery for revascularization. cabg should be consider as a therapeutic modality that can be use for the treatment of cardiogenic shock, in well selected patients, as in those who primary angioplasty could not be achieved as treatment for the acute myocardial infarction. we revised the patients characteristics, the useful modalities and benefits that cabg can offer in this pathology.
