The Social Demand for a Medicine Focused on the Person: The Contribution of CAM to Healthcare and Healthgenesis
Paolo Roberti di Sarsina
Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine , 2007, DOI: 10.1093/ecam/nem094
Abstract: The Non Conventional Medicines have a greater social impact and the demand for such treatments of more than 10 million Italian citizens (male and female) of all ages and social classes and of thousands of Italian families reveals an interest proving that there is a trend reversal, involving also other sectors of the medical and scientific world, which shifts the focus from the symptom to an idea of more general and comprehensive well-being of the person. Over the last few years the scientific debate on Non Conventional Medicines and their integration with the academic or dominant medicine in our western society has favored and legitimated an increase in the demand and has activated a cultural transformation process involving the life styles. The focus is therefore shifted to the self-healing capacities, to the reawakening of the individual potentialities, which support and amplify the benefits of the treatments and the citizens start pretending to be accurately informed in order to choose freely their own health program.
Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche: Dzogchen and Tibetan Tradition. From Shang Shung to the West
Paolo Roberti di Sarsina
Religions , 2012, DOI: 10.3390/rel3020163
Abstract: In July 2011 the International Dzogchen Community celebrated its 30th Anniversary. In 1981, near Arcidosso in Tuscany (Italy), Master Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche founded the first community or Gar of the International Dzogchen Community. He named it “ Meri-gar”, the “Community of the Mountain-of-Fire”. In the 70s Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu began to teach Dzogchen to his first students. Interest soon became widespread and having received invitations from all continents, Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche began to travel and teach throughout the world. These last thirty years the Dzogchen Community has grown and now has thousands of members in over 40 countries and all continents. The main objective of the Community is to preserve and develop understanding of Dzogchen, as well as preserving Tibet's extraordinary cultural patrimony. The International Shang Shung Institute for Tibetan Studies was founded by Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche with this aim and it was inaugurated by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in 1990. It has a rich collections of Tibetan books and manuscripts and publishes the teachings of Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu. This article draws on Ch?gyal Namkhai Norbu’s work and legacy to describe the Dzogchen Lineage and Tibetan Tradition from the very origin of the Shang Shung Culture.
Propiedades linfangiogénicas del melanoma

Acta bioqu?-mica cl?-nica latinoamericana , 2009,
Abstract: melanoma skin cancer represents the most deadly of all skin cancers and its high incidence of mortality is due to metastasis. through the local lymphatic system, the sites of initial metastasis are usually the regional lymph nodes. despite the clinical relevance of metastasis spreading to lymph nodes is clearly established, not much is known about its molecular mechanisms. the finding of new markers in lymph node cells has made it possible over the last years to start clarifying many questions and controversies related to the interaction between tumour cells and lymph vessels. this chapter deals with the growing information nowadays available to understand lymphagiogenesis in cancer, especially melanoma, its potential application to metastasis diagnosis, disease prognosis and therapeutic strategies.
Roberti,María Eugenia;
Trabajo y sociedad , 2012,
Abstract: the aim of the present work is to study the theoretical contributions which are given by the focus on labor paths to understand the integration of heterogeneous courses, unpredictable and discontinuous, which are developed through the subjects working lives. from this point, we perform a critical thought together with a theoretical systematization of those research works which can help us understand how working biographies are built up in a context of intermittence and uncertainty. the chosen perspective gives to the social analysis the possibility to analyze these new phenomena from their analytical complexity, since it let comprehend the objective and subjective dimensions considering their temporal articulation.
