Rico Pradilla,Leocadio; Chio Cho,Gustavo;
Tecnura , 2012,
Abstract: the aim of this paper is to present a comparison of the seismic behavior of simply supported concrete bridges by using three types of base isolators, namely high damping rubber bearing (hdrb), lead rubber bearing (lrb) and friction pendulum system (fps). "la flora" viaduct is taken as case study; the geometry and the corresponding modeling of such viaduct are defined in sap2000. additionally, the mechanical properties of three insulators are defined using a bilinear model. an analysis of histories in time was made for the model of the viaduct, considering the non-linearity in the insulators and using frontal fault earthquakes caused by the frontal and bucaramanga-santa marta fault; this is applied at a surface-level scale. the results from the model without seismic isolation are compa-red with the three systems of seismic isolation and the findings suggest that the different systems of seismic isolation signifcantly reduce both the demands of the displacements and the cutting forces in the piles of the bridge, which may induce probable earthquakes.

Pradilla Cobos, Emilio;
Andamios , 2004,
Abstract: this paper presents a general outlook on the mainstream orientations that prevail nowadays in mexico city studies. these orientations fail to recognize the functioning of the city as a totality, operating on the basis of a serious fragmentation of the object under study. the author holds that the distrito federal is only a part of a real city, formed by the metropolitan zone of the valle de méxico. because of this, it is necessary to develop these kinds of studies in a metropolitan scale or, at least, putting these fragmentary studies in a general context. the article also deals with some fields of research that the strategist should take into account for the structural change of the metropoli.

Ciclooxigenasa 3: the new iso-enzime
Oscar Enrique Pradilla Vesga
MedUNAB , 2004,
Abstract: In 2002, Simmons etal from the Brigham Young University identifi ed a new form ofcyclooxygenase, which was called cyclooxygenase-3. This,basically, derives from the cyclooxygenase-1 gene codifi erbut it differs structurally and functionally from COX-1. It hasbeen established that PGs COX-3 produces fever and centralpain but not infl ammation. When pharmacological inhibitionfrom several drugs were tested, acetaminophen was identified as the most selective inhibitor. Following this discovery,af ter 60 years fi nally the pharmacological mechanism for the acetaminophen was clarifi ed.
La deriva estandarditzadora valenciana. Del secessionisme rupturista a l’a llacionisme particularista [The trail of the Valencian standardisation: from desintegrative secessionism to the isolating particularism]
Pradilla Cardona, Miquel àngel
Zeitschrift für Katalanistik , 2005,
Abstract: The Valencian linguistic conflict in a sociolinguistic context marked by the – structural and social – penetration of the Spanish language and by disconcerning symptoms of linguistic substitution, becomes a politicosocial battle in which ideologic strategies lead to all kinds of statements. So the linguistic philological and sociolinguistic approaches prove insufficient on evaluating the formal care of the language and the slowing down – if not inversion – of its functional dismantling. This contribution aims at positioning the Valencian standardisation process, that is supervised by the Valencian Language Academy (Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua), in the context of ideologically interpreting a disagreement that hardly allows for the establishment of a consensual codification.
Pradilla Cobos Emilio
Bitácora Urbano-Territorial , 2011,
Abstract: By changing the state interventionist pattern of capital accumulation to a neoliberal’s one, the ideology of globalization start prevailing and was adopted uncritically by researchers from all streams, including numerous from Latin American. Despite the intensification of the exploitation of workers, the prowling of nations and preventive war, it is thought to be unavoidable, positive and that it generates societies and territories without contradictions. This paper shows that capitalist mondialization began in the sixteenth century, and developed differentially and unequal in societies, territories and cities. The current imperialist stage dominated by three blocs led by United States of America -USA-has used different patterns of accumulation, does not guarantee a sustained and sustainable accumulation of capital, it does not improves quality of life of people, nor eliminates the inequality between nations, regions and cities in Latin America. In the same way, the global city concept is inapplicable in our regions, whose cities are subordinated and undergo processes of deindustrialization and outsourcing predominantly informal.
