Pagura, Reynaldo;
DELTA: Documenta??o de Estudos em Lingüística Teórica e Aplicada , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-44502003000300013
Abstract: this paper aims at presenting an overview of conference interpreting and shows similarities and differences between translating and interpreting. from the theoretical groundworks of the interpretive theory of translation, developed at the esit (university of paris iii - sorbonne nouvelle), it shows that, despite theoretical similarities, the two processes have different operational constraints. the implications for translator and interpreter education resulting from these operational differences are then discussed.
YZUR, FUNES Y EL INMORTAL: UNA CONVERGENCIA METAFíSICA
Riva,Reynaldo;
Revista chilena de literatura , 2005, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22952005000100003
Abstract: this essay proposes a metaphysical reading of "yzur", one of the stories in "las fuerzas extra?as" ("the strange forces"). yzur is a monkey whom his master teaches to speak, and who dies, overwhelmed by the humanity that speech has awakened in him. certain ideas about monkeys which classical antiquity accepted as true are presented, ideas which may have helped l. lugones in the construction of a (pseudo) scientific framework permitting the final miracle. a passage from the "lunario sentimental" is also identified in order to show lugones’s special interest in the truncated but recoverable humanity of apes. in the complementary section of the essay, it is proposed to read ‘yzur’ as an antecedent to two stories by borges, "funes, el memorioso" and "el inmortal", discussing the theme of lost and/or recovered memory
SPECIAL REPORT: Towards a Disentangling the Anatomy of Human Society: A Self- Clarification
Reynaldo Gueco
Kasarinlan : Philippine Journal of Third World Studies , 2000,
Abstract: Homo sapiens, unlike no other species save for posthumously popular dinosaurs, has dominated all other living organisms mainly because of its ability to change its very nature as a species both consciously and deliberately. As a species, Homo sapiens excelled in the art of tool making, specifically, making tools out of members of the species. The most creative toolmakers became the dominant class, the class that dictates cultural and political behavior. The most common tools have evolved into the proletariat. In the last 10,000 years of dominance, Homo sapiens have successfully defined and redefined human and social relations, creating three spheres of human society: political society (embodied in the capitalist nation-state), class society (embodied in the slave, feudal and capitalist property relations), and natural society (embodied in the ancient, Asiatic, slave, feudal and capitalist techniques of producing wealth). So far, capitalism has successfully kept the Manifesto-predicted communist revolution at bay and the proletariat at its dehumanized state. The next revolution, unleashed by the errors and excesses of economic globalization, will not succeed with the mere collapse of the nation-state and the triumph of the proletariat. All three spheres must undergo changes and become arenas of social revolution to end the total hegemony of capital in human society. In this dreamt-for transformed society, the application of price form and capital form on Homo sapiens is eradicated.
YZUR, FUNES Y EL INMORTAL: UNA CONVERGENCIA METAFíSICA
Reynaldo Riva
Induction and Conduction Electromagnetic Waves Caused by Lightning Strike on the Low Voltage Network
Reynaldo Zoro
Makara Seri Teknologi , 2009,
Abstract: Direct and indirect lightning strikes can disturb and induce low voltage overheadlines and it can produced overvoltage due to traveling waves along the lines. This overvoltage can damage the equipments connected to it. It was recorded that there were already a lot of damages of electronic equipments and arrestesr located inside the building of Lightning Measurement Station at Mnt. Tangkuban Perahu. Most of the overvoltage which was developed on the low voltage lines were coming from indirect lightning strike nearby due to the fact that most of the lines were covered by trees. Research was carried out to study and evaluate the induction and conduction of the lightning strikes to the LV lines that can lead to the cause of equipment and arrester damages inside the building. Local lightning data for the analysis were derived from measurement system installed at the stations and historical lightning data from lightning detection network called Jadpen (National Lightning Detection Network). The data was used for calculating and evaluating the voltage elevation, induction voltage profiles and conduction in the form of traveling waves using Rusck Model. Two damaged arresters were evaluated and compared and it give the better understanding on how the protection system work.

Bello Guerrieri,Reynaldo;
Literatura y lingüística , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0716-58112011000100005
Abstract: the subject of this work refers to the argument of lagartija sin cola , which mainly shows part of the thematic lines developed by donoso throughout its extensive closed world work referred to the familiar group. the objective is to show that the echoes of the excluded novel, lagartija sin cola , are registries of anguish, human desolation and degradation, that with similar resonance, we found in the fiction of the chilean author. the method implied adopting a multidisciplinary perspective, based mainly on the analysis (under humanistic lineament) of the existing characteristics in the text. the conclusion demonstrates that donoso, in spite of the forms used in its creative traject, insisted on contents that we can establish with facility, due to the obsessive reiteration of the propose plots.
