Agricultura técnica en México , 2009,
Abstract: the incipient use of internet in rural areas and there was the assumption that the low educational level, older producers, the lack of infrastructure and computer hardware, affect the interest of producers to know and use the medium of communication. diagnosis was performed to identify factors that determine the use of these electronic media in rural areas of the state of aguascalientes. in april 2008; 81 producers were interviewed by sampling method in "bola de nieve". sociodemographic characteristics were identified: gender, age, education, occupation and aspects of computer use, email and internet. negative correlation was found between the age of producers and computer use (r2= -0.43920) and high positive correlation with educational level (r2= 0.74248), and the need for training in the internet use (r2= 0.89646). notwithstanding the alleged cultural barriers and lack of infrastructure and computer equipment in rural areas, it was possible in three workshops to train 37 farmers in the management of a computer, email and internet. under the light of the results, contrary to the assumption that the internet has no rural penetration, it was found in the area of study, that there is interest in using electronic means of communication as well as the availability of infrastructure (10 000 digital community centers nationwide) so there is a great opportunity for internet use in the transfer of information on web pages, email, video conferencing, distance learning, discussion forums, among other tools and applications like a cost-effective to enhance persona l communication, group and institutional development and strengthening rural families.

Revista mexicana de ciencias agrícolas , 2011,
Abstract: agricultural scientists are influenced by several factors when defining the approach to their research. the aim of this paper was to identify demographic, professional and institutional aspects and internal-external influences related to the sustainable, environmental or productivist approach of scientist in aguascalientes, mexico in 2008. the approaches underwent a correlation analysis with 44 influence factors. the sustainable approach had a positive correlation with the specialty, problem-solving with institutional interest, studies on farmers' fields and investigation on farming systems; and a negative correlation with basic research and biotechnology. the environmental approach had a positive correlation with the opinion of the interdisciplinary group in the definition of the problem under investigation. the productivist approach had a positive correlation with specialty, the opinions of users and colleagues in defining the problem, studies on farmers' fields and in the experimental stations, work by technological components and with the researcher's objectivity and a negative correlation with the environmental discipline. the logistic regression model for research with a sustainable approach can be explained by the origin of the researchers, research leaves, type of institution, and source of funding, research on demand of the user and institutional priority, interdisciplinary work, studies on farming systems and by technological components. the environmental model can be explained with research leaves, approval of projects by a technical committee, studies on farmers' fields, interdisciplinary work and studies on farming systems. the productivist model had explicatory variables of the types of institution and work on farming systems.

Abstract: Los científicos(as) agropecuarios(as) están influenciados(as) por diversos factores para definir su enfoque de investigación.
Abstract: guava (psidium guajava l.) is one of the main fruit trees cultivated in mexico, with a production area of 24 000 ha and annual production of 3 00 000 t. fresh fruit production of 24 guava selections grown in huanusco, zacatecas, mexico was recorded during 1999-2002, and then related to two productivity indexes: productivity index based on canopy volume and productivity index based on stem cross sectional area. this work was conducted in order to identify useful traits that can be used for the evaluation of productivity in landraces and breed guava germplasm in mexico. all evaluated materials were identified and selected in the calvillo-ca?ones region. fruit production ranged from 34 to 73 kg tree-1, while the average number of fruits per tree was from 551 to 1514. selections with greatest number of fruits were 11, 106, 126, 12, and 47. the most vigorous accessions were 118, 106, 115, 117, and 42. positive associations between fruit production and productivity indexes were found.
Country-Specific Dynamic Optimal Capital Income Tax Rate  [PDF]
Kazunobu Muro
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2012.23045
Abstract: The empirical tax rate on capital income ranges between 0.4 and 0.6 in OECD countries. This paper presents the optimal taxation problem in an one-sector dynamic general equilibrium model where the government is confronted with fiscal constraint (the ratio of government expenditure to GDP is exogenously given) while households and firms do not recognize the fiscal constraint. We derive analytically the positive optimal tax rates on capital income. Under the fiscal constraint, the optimal tax rate on capital income depends on the discount rate, the rate of capital depreciation, and the ratio of government spending to GDP. Our model can generate the country-specific optimal tax rate on capital income (0.2 to 0.4). Thus, this paper insists that the empirical data of tax rates in OECD countries are higher than the results predicted by our model.
On the proper homotopy type of locally compact A^2_n-polyhedra
Fernando Muro
Mathematics , 2006,
Abstract: In this paper we address the classification problem for locally compact (n-1)-connected CW-complexes with dimension less or equal than n+2 up to proper homotopy type. We obtain complete classification theorems in terms of purely algebraic data in those cases where the representation type of the involved algebra is finite. For this we define new quadratic functors in controlled algebra and new homotopy and cohomology invariants in proper homotopy theory.
Maltsiniotis's first conjecture for K_1
Fernando Muro
Mathematics , 2007, DOI: 10.1093/imrn/rnm153
Abstract: We show that K_1 of an exact category agrees with K_1 of the associated triangulated derivator. More generally we show that K_1 of a Waldhausen category with cylinders and a saturated class of weak equivalences coincides with K_1 of the associated right pointed derivator.
Homotopy theory of non-symmetric operads
Fernando Muro
Mathematics , 2011, DOI: 10.2140/agt.2011.11.1541
Abstract: We endow categories of non-symmetric operads with natural model structures. We work with no restriction on our operads and only assume the usual hypotheses for model categories with a symmetric monoidal structure. We also study categories of algebras over these operads in enriched non-symmetric monoidal model categories.
On algebras of holomorphic functions of a given type
Santiago Muro
Mathematics , 2011,
Abstract: We show that several spaces of holomorphic functions on a Riemann domain over a Banach space, including the nuclear and Hilbert-Schmidt bounded type, are locally $m$-convex Fr\'echet algebras. We prove that the spectrum of these algebras has a natural analytic structure, which we use to characterize the envelope of holomorphy. We also show a Cartan-Thullen type theorem.
