Abstract: The study of the triacylglycerols (TAG) by gas chromatography (GC) using capillary columns is an efficient technique for the determination of some characteristics of quality of fats and oils. The objective of the present study was to determine by GC the content of TAG present in fat of cow and goat milk produced in four zones of Mexico. According to criteria established in Mexican Standardization, 25 samples were obtained of 1 L of ultra-pasteurized cow milk (UHT) and 27 and 48 of raw cow and goat milk, respectively. The fat was extracted from all of the milk samples by detergent solution, and was stored at 20 until its analysis. The chromatographic conditions made it possible to identify and quantify TAG of 28 to 54 numbers of carbons, which were analyzed under descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. For the cow milk fat, the statistical analyses indicated significant difference (p < 0.05) in the TAG C34, C50 and C52, and for the goat milk fat in the TAG of C36 to C52. No equality of means was found among the TAG of the cow and goat milk fat. This study offers an advance in the characterization of the TAG present in the cow and goat milk fat produced in Mexico.

Abstract: the organophosphate pesticide malathion and its metabolite malaoxón cause harmful effects on the health of humans that consume foods contaminated with these molecules. the presence of residues of malathion and malaoxón was studied in mangos (mangifera indica) of the varieties ataulfo and tommy atkins produced in the municipality of chahuites, state of oaxaca, during the harvest period of 2007. the extraction system used ethyl acetate in aqueous matrix, and analytic determination by means of liquid gas chromatography with thermionic specific detector (tsd). the concentration of residues of malathion and malaoxón was determined for each variety through sampling at 1, 30 and 60 d after having applied malathion (520 g i. a. of malathion ha-1), in compliance with the phytosanitary norm (nom-023-fito) for the control of the mexican fruit fly (anastrepha ludens) on days 1 (t1) and 30 (t2), and two applications of malathion for day 60 (t3). control mangos of both varieties were used, taken from orchards free of pesticide application for 10 years. the presence of malathion was detected in 75 % and 95.6 % of the samples (n=12) of the varieties ataulfo and tommy atkins. residues of the metabolite malaoxón were detected in 83.3 % of the samples (n=12) in both varieties. no degradation was observed of either pesticide once it was present in the fruit until day 60 of the study. furthermore, the means of the residues increased in time three of the study (t3) in both varieties, after two applications of malathion.

Food and Nutrition Sciences (FNS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/fns.2013.45076
Abstract:

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the physicochemical properties, presence of water and aflatoxin M1, as well as the effect of the time of year (dry or rainy season) to value the quality and safety of conventional and organic raw milk samples. Samples were collected of conventional (n = 12) and organic (n = 11) raw milk from Tizayuca, Hidalgo and from Tuxpan, Veracruz, respectively. Infrared spectrophotometry and other analytical techniques were employed, approved by the International Dairy Federation for the analysis of the physicochemical properties, the cryoscopy technique for the detection of water addition, and high performance liquid chromatography for the determination of aflatoxin M1. Results showed that there are no significant differences in the components of conventional milk in the season of the year, whereas in organic milk a significant difference (P < 0.05) was observed in acidity during the seasons of the year (rainy and dry), as well as a decrease in the percentage of lactose in the dry season, with a significant difference (P < 0.05). The means of the cryoscopic point of the milk samples complied with the limits established in the Mexican Official Norm (0.530,

Abstract: Cuba represented a real possibility for Galitian exiles from the Civil War, largely because of previous favored relations mantained by the social networks set up by emigrants. Exiles from all walks of life arrived, either on a temporary or permanent basis, creating a further link in the historical relations enjoyed by both countries.

Abstract: in this paper we offer a normative evaluation about the universal basic income proposal (ubi) face to the most important justifications of "guarantee job" and "right to work" proposals. firstly, we present the main arguments that justify a ubi. secondly, we examine some of the most relevant reasons to believe that a ubi can be a desirable redistributive plan face to the current job guarantee policies. thirdly, we analyse the idea that an unconditional and universal income redistribution policy violates the reciprocity principle. in this sense, we argue that a redistributive policy like ubi is a better way to achieve the objectives put forward by "guarantee job" promoters, especially by those advocates with the present workfare policies. thus, the objective of this paper is to show some relevant and useful normative arguments in order to think about the existing and potential redistributive resources schemes

In this paper we offer a normative evaluation about the Universal Basic Income proposal (UBI) face to the most important justifications of "guarantee job" and "right to work" proposals. Firstly, we present the main arguments that justify a UBI.
