A taxonomic study on the genus Japananus Ball (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Deltocephalinae), with description of one new species from China

Abstract: The paper deals with four species of the genus Japananus Ball, 1931 (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Deltocephalinae), including one new species from Sichuan Province, China, Japananus bicurvatus sp. nov.. A key is given to distinguish all species of the genus, and illustrations of genitalia are provided. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University (IEGU).

Sublethal effects of thiamethoxam on the fecundity of lab populations of white-backed planthopper Sogatella furcifera(Horváth)

Abstract: 为探究噻虫嗪对白背飞虱的亚致死效应,采用稻茎浸渍法以噻虫嗪亚致死浓度LC10和LC25胁迫白背飞虱3龄若虫,测定了F0代和F1代若虫的存活率、雌成虫寿命和产卵量,并组建了F1代种群相对适合度生命表。结果表明,经噻虫嗪亚致死浓度胁迫后,F0代白背飞虱若虫的发育历期延长,存活率降低,并且LC10处理组的F0代雌成虫寿命比对照组显著延长,而成虫产卵量显著变化;F1代的若虫发育历期比对照组显著延长,且产卵量有所减少,LC10处理组雌成虫产卵量比对照组减少了22.24,LC25处理组比对照组减少了69.96,且差异显著;LC10和LC25亚致死浓度处理后F1代的种群增长趋势指数均下降,种群相对适合度分别下降了0.12和0.36。研究表明,噻虫嗪亚致死浓度胁迫均可抑制白背飞虱的种群增长。
To figure out the sublethal effects of thiamethoxam on white-backed planthopper Sogatella furcifera(Horváth),the 3rd instar nymphs were exposed to the two sublethal doses LC10 and LC25 of thiamethoxam with the rice stem dipping method.The survival rates of F0 and F1 nymphs,the longevity and fecundity of F0 and F1 adults were investigated.The life-table of F1 generation was constructed.The results showed that both sublethal doses could prolong the developmental duration and decrease the survival rate of F0 nymphs.In addition,F0 female adults treated by LC10 of thiamethoxam had significant longer lifespan compared to that of the control,and the fecundity of adults had no difference from that of the control.As for F1 generation,both treatments significantly prolonged the developmental durations of nymphs.The oviposition amount of adults treated with LC10 of thiamethoxam was 22.24 eggs less than that of the control,while that of the adults treated with LC25 of thiamethoxam was significantly 69.96 eggs less than that of the control.Both sublethal doses of thiamethoxam resulted in declining population trend index.The relative fitness of F1 generation treated by LC10 and LC25 of thiamethoxam was reduced by 0.12 and 0.36,respectively.The results indicated that the sublethal dose of thiamethoxam had negative effect on S.furcifera.

Abstract: To unify the four known fundamental forces and provide an explanation for the origin and the evolution of the universe are two long-term goals of theoretical physics. Here a “universe collapse model” has been proposed. The universe consists of Matter and No-matter. No-matter is the universal energy that constructs a consistent universe field, presenting a spiral wave motion at the speed of light at the small scale. The partial collapse of the universal energy forms the particles of the universal energy in a variety of sizes, which are called as the elementary particles. These elementary particles form atom and matter, which construct the galaxies. The collapse of the universe field induces the formation of the universe collapse potential (UCP) and universe collapse force (UCF), and the later is represented by four different aspects of the fundamental forces at the large or small scales. The mathematical equation and the derivation of UCP and UCF are described, and possible experimental tests are also suggested. Therefore, this new model may give a novel explanation for the unification of four fundamental forces and the origin and the evolution of the universe.
Research on Influencing Factors of Executive Compensation in China’s Monopoly Industries  [PDF]

Abstract: The annual salary income of the executives in the state-owned monopoly industry has become the focus of the society recently. With the improvement of enterprise efficiency, executives deserve to get high pay. However, it’s should be noted that because of the state-owned monopolies’ special status, business performance relies heavily on administrative monopoly power, but not actually the efforts of leaders. In this case, the income distribution mechanism is distortion, which has caused great dissatisfaction. This paper aims to study the main affecting factors of the executive compensation of state monopolies, with 1280 firm-year observations of 183 monopoly companies. We find that 1) Executive compensation is positively correlated to firm performance, firm size, CEO duality; 2) Executive compensation is negatively correlated to state share proportion and independent director proportion; 3) Company location, industry both have significant influence on executive compensation.

Brownian motion was discovered by the botanist Robert Brown in 1827, and the theoretical model of Brownian motion has real-world applications in fields such as mathematics, economics, physics and biology. It is the presumably random motion of particles suspended in a liquid or a gas that results from their bombardment by fast-moving atoms or molecules, but the exact mechanism of Brownian motion still remains one of the unresolved mysteries in physics. Here circadian and seasonal changes in long-term macroscopic anisotropic (asymmetric) Brownian motion of a toluidine blue colloid solution in water in two dimensions were identified, suggesting that such an anisotropic Brownian motion may be related to an effect of the directional movement of “Universe field”, and thereby providing new interpretations and potential applications of Brownian motion.

Searching for the influencing factors on team decision-making quality is the hot issue in academic circles and business circles. Based on summarizing the main influencing factors on team decision-making quality, this thesis divides the main influencing factors into team composition factors and team process factors and researches the internal relationship between them. Targeted at the field decision making, this thesis analyzes the influencing process of the main factors on decision-making quality, and constructs the conceptual model of “influencing factors-information sharing-decision-making quality”. This model not only combines the main influencing factors correctly, but also exposes the “black box” between the influencing factors and decision-making quality in field decision making, which can make up for no relative research for the field decision making in the previous studies.

Abstract: DOI, Digital Object Identifier, has been pervasively applied in digital information resources overseas and becomes an international standard, while in China it’s still on the initial stage. This article discusses the application of DOI in the digital publication of Chinese sci-tech journals, and analyzes the problems, such as inadequate attention, lack of engagement, unsatisfactory application and so on, as well as the countermeasures. Giving the lifting effects of DOI on the digitalizing and networking of Chinese sci-tech journals, journal articles should be registered on DOI for the display degree and citation rate.
