Study of Noise pollution during Deepawali festival in Kolhapur city of Maharashtra, India
Lad R.J,Patil V.N,Raut P.D
Review of Research , 2012,
Abstract: Kolhapur city is a district place in the state of Maharashtra with population of 4,93,167. It is one of the emerging industrial and commercial city of Western Maharashtra. Problems of pollution along with noise pollution are increasing with time especially during the festival period. In the present study, continuous monitoring of noise levels was carried out during the three festive days of Deepawali in the month of November, 2009 at ten different sites within the Kolhapur city. On the basis of location these sites were grouped into industrial, commercial, residential and silent zones respectively. The results showed that there is an enhanced pressure of noise at all sites during the festival of light due to bursting of loud noise firecrackers. All the sites under study showed higher sound levelthan the prescribed limits of Central pollution Control Board (CPCB).

SYNTHESIS OF NEW ANTHRANILIC ACID DYES AND EVALUATION FOR THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITIES.
P.D. Gaikwad*
International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology , 2010,
Abstract: A new series of dyes were synthesized from anthranilic acid derivatives by reacting p-aminobenzoic acid to HCl salt of ammonium benzoyl chloride. Then condensation of HCl salt of ammonium benzoylchloride with anthranilic acid and its derivatives at various conditions like temperature, condition of reactants and solvents were maintained for the preparation of dyes. All the dyes were screened forantibacterial activity against S.aureus and E.coli. These dyes were also shows significant anti-inflammatory activity. The structures of new synthesized dyes were established on the basis of elemental analysis, UV, IR and NMR.

The Effect of Carbon Content in Martensite on the Strength of Dual Phase Steel
P.D. Sudersanan
Bonfring International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management Science , 2012, DOI: 10.9756/bijiems.1254
Abstract: The objective of this investigation is to study the variation of strength of dual phase steel with the percentage of carbon content in the martensite phase. The study is conducted on samples of dual phase steel prepared by intercritical annealing process with temperature varying from 730oC to 810oC. In this process both coarse and fine ferrite- martensite structures are produced with volume fraction of martensite varying from 48 to 69%. It has been observed from the investigation that both yield strength and tensile strength increased with increasing carbon content in the martensite phase of dual phase steel up to 0.195% and then decreased. The optimum values of strength are observed at 0.195 % of carbon
Statistical analysis for stability and adaptability testing of mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) genotypes

Electronic Journal of Plant Breeding , 2010,
Abstract: Aimed at developing a precise and efficient parsimonious method of testing the stability of promising mungbean lines, particularly using small number of observations, this paper presents the analysis of variance of 10 mungbean lines in 4environments for 2 years. Simultaneous varietal selection using the AMMI (additive main effects and multiplicativeinteraction) model along with mean deviation from maximum plot yield ,suggested single value of IPCA (interactionprincipal component analysis axes) scores (IPCAs)and IPCAs vs. mean yield biplot were found to be more effective forevaluating wide adaptability and stability of mungbean over diverse environments. Mungbean lines with above grand meanyield having the lowest mean deviation (D) and IPCAs scores which are close to zero are selected as the most adaptablepromising lines in the multi-location trial. The AMMI1 biplot ordinate with IPCA1 captures lower percentage of genotype xenvironment interaction (GEI), while suggested biplot of the reference method that ordinate with IPCAs scores capture 100% of GEI
