Creches nas universidades federais: quest?es, dilemas e perspectivas
Raupp, Marilena Dandolini;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302004000100010
Abstract: this paper intends to present new challenges to the federal university units of children's education, with special regards to the federal constitution of 1988 that established an institutional role to those units that goes beyond what is defined for children's public education. in most of these units, such challenges lead to other functions besides teaching: research and extension. taking this into consideration, this paper points out these units have to reflect upon the controversial issues still in discussion, and direct the discussions towards the development of an institutional project that clearly defines the roles of these children's units of education within universities.
Para um direito democrático da sexualidade
Rios, Roger Raupp;
Horizontes Antropológicos , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-71832006000200004
Abstract: the present paper approaches, through a democratic perspective, the relationship between law and sexuality. starting with the history of the genesis of this debate in the widest core of the reproductive and sexual rights discourse, it proposes an analysis of the "sexual rights", through the lenses of the fundamental principles and dimensions that concern the exercise of sexuality. freedom, equality and non-discrimination, as well as the protection of human dignity are the keystones that structure the development of a democratic right of sexuality, consistent with pluralistic and lay views required by contemporary democratic societies. within such conceptual framework the paper considers the protective, defensive and positive dimensions of these fundamental human rights, as well as the main topics and arguments against them, relevant to a broad and structured comprehension of the sexual rights.

Automatic Real-Time Generation of Floor Plans Based on Squarified Treemaps Algorithm
Fernando Marson,Soraia Raupp Musse
International Journal of Computer Games Technology , 2010, DOI: 10.1155/2010/624817
Abstract: A novel approach to generate house floor plans with semantic information is presented. The basis of this model is the squarified treemaps algorithm. Previously, this algorithm has been used to create graphical representations based on hierarchical information, such as, directory structures and organization structures. Adapted to floor plans generation, this model allows the creation of internal house structures with information about their features and functionalities. The main contributions are related to the robustness, flexibility, and simplicity of the proposed approach to create floor plans in real-time. Results show that different and realistic floor plans can be created by adjusting a few parameters. 1. Introduction Considering the game titles released in the last decade, the increase in visual complexity of Virtual Environments (VE) used as scenarios is noticed. Huge cities can be found in games like the GTA franchise (http://www.rockstargames.com/IV), Assassin's Creed (http://assassinscreed.us.ubi.com), and Left 4 Dead (http://www.l4d.com) which is remarkable. Apart from the cities, it may be necessary to create whole worlds, as in the case of Massively Multiplayer On-line Games (MMOGs), represented by World of Warcraft (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com) and Perfect World (http://www.perfectworld.com). As a consequence, the cost and time to develop a game are also increased. The creation of a VE requires previous knowledge in several areas of expertise. Hence, it is necessary to allocate a team of professionals to create, maintain, and reuse large VEs. Some of the main problems faced when developing interactive virtual environments are described in [1] as the nonextensibility, limited interoperability, poor scalability, monolithic architecture, among others. A possible solution to these problems is the use of procedural generation techniques [2], which allow the creation of VE content just by setting input parameters. Such approaches may be used to generate terrains, buildings, characters, items, weapons, quests, and even stories adding a broad range of elements, but in a controlled way. A perfect example to illustrate the potential use of procedural contents generation is the game Spore (http://www.spore.com). In this game, procedural techniques are used to create characters, vehicles, buildings [3], textures [4], and planets [5]. Even the music is created using this kind of technique. There are some academic and commercial solutions that provide the creation of buildings with great realism. Nevertheless, there are few studies that focus on the
Adolescência, drogadi??o e políticas públicas: recortes no contemporaneo
Raupp, Luciane;Milnitsky-Sapiro, Clary;
Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2009000400005
Abstract: at the present time, drug abuse by adolescents is considered to be a serious public health issue, with potentially harmful consequences for the "peculiar conditions of a person in development". the present work aims to investigate three public institutions that accept adolescents for drug abuse treatment. the findings were compared to the adopted public policies that serve as justification for the conception of these services and investigate whether these policies practice what they preach. the ethnographic description was used as the method of investigation, followed by a content analysis of the informal dialogue, document checks, and interviews with professionals and adolescents at the locations under review. the results indicate a mismatch between what is prescribed by public policies and the actual reality of the services provided, emphasizing the importance of interventions that take the peculiarities of adolescence and individuality into account.
Circuitos de uso de crack na regi?o central da cidade de S?o Paulo (SP, Brasil)
Raupp,Luciane; Adorno,Rubens de Camargo Ferreira;
Ciência & Saúde Coletiva , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-81232011000500031
Abstract: although drug usage has been prevalent since the dawn of humankind, drug abuse has currently escalated alarmingly and can be characterized as a public health problem. the spread of "crack," a drug derived from cocaine paste, is worsening the situation by aggravating the social damages and harming the health of users. an ethnographic study was conducted in downtown s?o paulo, sp (brazil) in locations where crack is sold and used in order to establish the impact of the spread of this drug in the daily life of users. a field diary was used to record the observations and informal dialogues with the people who circulate in the location under scrutiny. the results of this study show the circuits covered by the users, their dynamics and the complex relationships with other social players, based on permanent tension, involving the practice of violence in which the users are both victims and perpetrators. the study also suggests the importance of other factors such as the history of the region in question, the public policies, economic questions and the lack of social investments and public health. it is suggested that the advanced degree of degradation of the region researched is not only the result of the people and activities practiced in the area, but also mainly of the urban process that led to such a social scenario.
Simultaneous exact control of piezoelectric systems in multilayered media
Kapitonov, Boris V.;Raupp, Marco Antonio;
Computational & Applied Mathematics , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-82052003000200006
Abstract: this paper considers a pair of transmission problems for the system of piezoelectricity having piecewise constant coefficients. under suitable monotonicity conditions on the coefficients and certain geometric conditions on the domain and the interfaces where the coefficients have a jump discontinuity, results on simultaneous boundary observation and simultaneous exact control are established.
A "reeduca??o" de adolescentes em uma comunidade terapêutica: o tratamento da drogadi??o em uma institui??o religiosa
Raupp, Luciane Marques;Milnitisky-Sapiro, Clary;
Psicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-37722008000300013
Abstract: drugs abuse by adolescents is, nowadays, a major problem of public health. in this field, treatment represents a great challenge, mainly due to the fact that most interventions are not adapted to the adolescents' specificities. the present paper shows the results of an investigation which aimed to analyze the treatment of adolescents through a mode of care that is different from the traditional practices in public health: the therapeutic community. this research tried to understand the conceptions and practices regarding care in the researched institution, comparing them to what is stated by health-related public policies. the research methods utilized were ethnographic description and content analysis. results suggest that there is a gap between what is stated by public policies and the reality of the therapeutic community that was researched, which, albeit providing shelter and care for the adolescents, make the process of development of their singularities and potentialities difficult, due to its emphasis on the "moral model" of drug addiction treatment.
