?Por qué diferentes científicos interpretan la realidad de manera diferente?
Rasi,Humberto M.;
Enfoques , 2012,
Abstract: summary the answer to the question posed in the title is offered at three levels. at times the differences are due to the limitations of the equipment employed, deficiencies in the samples used, or bias in the interpretation of the data. at other times, the key factor is the paradigm on which the research is based. finally, disagreements can be caused by worldview differences; in such cases the cause is not scientific but philosophical in nature and can be attributed to the different presuppositions of the researchers. the essay contrasts the biblical-christian worldview, as understood by seventh-day adventists, and secular humanism, exploring their implications.
Efficacy of a high-purity factor IX concentrate in hemophilia B patients undergoing surgery
Rasi, Vesa;Ebeling, Freja;
Revista Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-84842002000200007
Abstract: a plasma derived, high purity, solvent-detergent treated and subsequently nanofiltered factor ix concentrate (bemofil) was evaluated in 19 hemophilia b patients, including four with severe, thirteen with mild or moderate type of disease and two hemophilia b carriers undergoing 31 surgical procedures. the mean in vivo recovery was 52 %, range 36 - 76 %. the mean preoperative plasma factor ix activity after the initial loading dose was 0.86 iu ml-1, range 0.59 - 1.32 iu ml-1. in eight major orthopedic procedures, the mean usage of factor ix was 44600 iu or 574 iu kg-1 during the hospital stay, mean 11.6 days. thromboprophylaxis was not used. the hemostatic efficacy was evaluated good in all cases and there were no thromboembolic complications. in conclusion, bemofil used as bolus dosing was found to be safe and effective in achieving hemostasis in subjects with hereditary f ix deficiency undergoing surgery.

La didáctica de Jesús
Humberto M. Rasi
Apuntes Universitarios , 2013,
Abstract: There is a general consensus that, despite his brief ministry, Jesus was the master of greater impact and influence in the history of mankind. It is natural that Christian educators wishing to learn from his teaching and apply, as far as possible to their own teaching practice. This article first analyzes the differences between training, personality and the environment in which Jesus performed his work and the educational context of our contemporary reality. Then he outlined the four models that already existed within the Greek and Hebrew culture, for teachers of his time, but that Jesus did not imitate. Then examines the characteristics of his teaching style. At the core of the paper studies and exemplify seven teaching methods employed by Jesus, who contributed to the success of his mission

Abstract: Osteogenesis imperfecta is a rare inherited Connective tissue disorder with an expression that varies from mild to severe disease affecting bone, Sclera and middle ear. Fertility is preserved, especially in those patients with type 1. We present hereby a pregnant woman with Osteogenesis imperfecta that had over 30 fractures in long bones and vertebrae. The object of this report was to determine choice of delivery method, maternal and neonatal Complications and prenatal diagnosis.

Neuropathic pain

Emergency Care Journal , 2009, DOI: 10.4081/ecj.2009.1.17
Abstract: Neuropathic pain is the expression of a dysfunction or primary lesion of a nerve in the peripheral or central nervous system, or both, rather than the biological signal transmitted by the nerve following peripheral nociceptor activation. It represents about 20% of all painful syndromes, with an estimated prevalence of 1.5%, however is actual incidence is hard to pinpoint due to the difficulties encountered in distinguishing it from chronic pain, of which it represents a significant percentage, on account of the not infrequent concurrence of conditions. It is crucial to recognise the variety of symptoms with which it can present: these can be negative and positive and, in turn, motor, sensitive and autonomic. In public health terms, it is important to emphasise that the diagnosis of neuropathic pain does not in most cases require sophisticated procedures and does not therefore weigh on health expenditure. In clinical practice, a validated scale (the LANSS is mentioned) is useful for identifying patients presenting neuropathic pain symptoms. Therapy is based on three categories of medication: tricyclic antidepressants, anti-epileptics and opioids at high doses: neuropathic pain has a bad reputation for often resisting common therapeutic approaches and responding less well that nociceptor pain to monotherapy. Therapeutic strategies are all the more adequate the more they are based on symptoms and therefore on the pain generation mechanisms, although the recommendations are dictated more by expert opinions that double-blind randomised trials.

Abstract: Penetrating bran injuries are uncommon causes of head trauma with serious complications. In this case study, we describe a six-year-old child with penetrating head trauma that occurred four days before presentation. The foreign body was removed by the parents on the first day, but the child had become progressively ill and experienced headache and vomiting. With the presence of fever and a stiff neck, we considered meningitis. The CT scan of the brain revealed tension pneumocephalus and a brain abscess. IV antibiotics were given, and surgery was performed. In a patient with penetrating head trauma, we should consider various complications and assess the presence of them to avoid future sequelae.

Qom University of Medical Sciences Journal , 2012,
Abstract: Background and Objectives: Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a parasitological disease that is transmitted by sand flies. This disease is endemic in different areas of Iran. This study was designed to determine the epidemiological aspects of CL in Qom Province during 2003-2009.Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. Geographical and epidemiological data of all patients from 2003 to 2009 with clinical and microscopic diagnosis were monitored and followed up, and their medical records were surveyed.Results: Of 1812 patients with leishmaniasis 1047 cases (57.78%) were male and 765 (42.22%) were female. The prevalence rate of disease was 25.8 in 100,000. The most frequent age group was above 15 years old (74.5%). 50.39 of the patients were living in urban areas and the rest lived in rural areas, especially in central county villages. 52.65% of the patients had no positive history of traveling to leishmaniasis endemic areas during the previous year. 24.5% of the patients had 3 or more lesions. The most common location of lesion was on their hands (49.08%).Conclusion: Based on our findings, men in working age group are more likely to have the disease; the number of patients without any history of traveling to endemic areas in Iran during the previous year is very considerable; therefore, we can conclude that leishmaniasis is endemic in Qom Province including in central-part villages. So, the high prevalence rate requires further control and prevention measures.
