A Review on Theoretical Development of Vendor-Managed Inventory in Supply Chain  [PDF]

Abstract:
Vendor-managed Inventory (VMI) is a new inventory operation pattern in the supply chain environment, breaking the traditional independent inventory management pattern. It is a kind of cooperative strategies that improving continuously inventory management, which aims at obtaining the lowest cost for both users and suppliers, manages inventory by suppliers under a common agreement, and continuously supervises the implementation of the agreement and amends the content of the agreement. This paper discusses the existing literature of VMI, and reviews the research of VMI from its connotation, theoretical basis and four stages of development, points out the defects and deficiencies, and puts forward suggestions for further research direction.

Abstract:

Green tea catechin, (–)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate [(–)-EGCG], was found to increase osteogenic functioning in mesenchymal stem cells. This study qualified EGCG, the strongest inhibitory efficiency for receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) ligand (RANKL)-activated osteoclastogenesis among other green tea catechins for RAW264, a murine preosteoclast cell line. Moreover, EGCG inhibited tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)-positive multinucleated cell formation dose dependently in both single culture and co-culture systems, the expression of transcription factor, nuclear factor of activated T-cells, cytoplasmic 1 (NFATc1) and some osteoclastic genes. Especially, EGCG exhibited a strong inhibitory effect on the expression levels of RANK, the receptor of RANKL, and OSCAR, a key co-stimulator of the RANKL/RANK signal. Simultaneously, apoptotic genes expression and Hoechst staining revealed that EGCG induced apoptosis in RAW264. Taken together, these data suggest that the inhibitory effect of EGCG to osteoclastogenesis is associated with a down regulation of RANKL/RANK signal, and increased apoptosis of preosteoclasts.

A FMCW Radar Distance Measure System based on LabVIEW

Abstract: This paper presents a acquisition and process system for frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) radar. The procedure is designed by LabVIEW7.0. The system adopts FMCW radar sensor and high-quality data acquisition card.The intermediate frequency(IF) signal of the FMCW radar can be collected in time. The intermediate frequency, distance and velocity forward vehicle can be calculated by an improved algorithm.It can give the alarm when the collide danger is predicted, and it can assist the driver to brake control, thus some collision accidents will be avoided.The design method of the system and test data are given simultaneously. The effectiveness of the designed system is verified by some real tests.

Abstract: With the development of network technology, IPv6 will be widely used in the next generation Internet, IPv6 will be used in the next generation Internet, IPv6 could combine mobile networks and fixed wireless networks closely, which brings great convenience to people’s live. The handoff delay of Mobile IPv6 seriously affected the real-time communication service quality, therefore various improvement methods based on the basic Mobile IPv6 protocol are proposed. The working principle of Mobile IPv6 is described, the current main switch methods are summarized and the typical methods are detailed and compared in this paper. And at last the future research hot-spots are proposed.
Randomized Block Kaczmarz Method with Projection for Solving Least Squares

Abstract: The Kaczmarz method is an iterative method for solving overcomplete linear systems of equations Ax=b. The randomized version of the Kaczmarz method put forth by Strohmer and Vershynin iteratively projects onto a randomly chosen solution space given by a single row of the matrix A and converges exponentially in expectation to the solution of a consistent system. In this paper we analyze two block versions of the method each with a randomized projection, that converge in expectation to the least squares solution of inconsistent systems. Our approach utilizes a paving of the matrix A to guarantee exponential convergence, and suggests that paving yields a significant improvement in performance in certain regimes. The proposed method is an extension of the block Kaczmarz method analyzed by Needell and Tropp and the Randomized Extended Kaczmarz method of Zouzias and Freris. The contribution is thus two-fold; unlike the standard Kaczmarz method, our methods converge to the least-squares solution of inconsistent systems, and by using appropriate blocks of the matrix this convergence can be significantly accelerated. Numerical experiments suggest that the proposed algorithm can indeed lead to advantages in practice.
Effects of pH and particle size on kinetics of nitrobenzene reduction by zero-valent iron

Abstract: Nitrobenzene has been considered as a significant groundwater contaminant due to its wide usage in explosives, insecticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals and dyes. Nitrobenzene is of environmental concern because of its toxicity. In the presence of zero-valent iron (ZVI), reduction of the nitro group is the dominant transformation process for nitrobenzene. A series of experiments were carried out to investigate the kinetics of nitrobenzene reduction by ZVI and the effects of pH and ZVI particle size on nitrobenzene removal in groundwater. The results indicated that nitrobenzene could be reduced to aniline by ZVI; the reduction of nitrobenzene by ZVI followed a pseudo first-order kinetics; the observed nitrobenzene reduction rate constant (kobs) was 0.0006 min?1 and the half-life of nitrobenzene (t1/2) was 115.5 min; the mass balance achieved 87.5% for nitrobenzene reduction by the 1 mm ZVI particle and the final removal efficiency was 80.98%. In addition, the pH and ZVI particle size were found to exhibit significant influences on the nitrobenzene reduction. The observed nitrobenzene reduction rate constant linearly decreased with increase pH and the data fitted on polynomial regression equation for the observed nitrobenzene reduction rate constant and ZVI particle size. Therefore, use of ZVI based permeable reactive barrier technology to remedy nitrobenzene contaminated groundwater was feasible.

Abstract: The program to replace the business tax with a value-added tax has been taken for three years since 2012 and it is a great success. Moreover, the transport industry is not only a basic and ser-vice one, but also a “bridging” institute between social production and consumption, wherefore it turns itself into a focus and forerunner industry of the program. Under the condition of a comprehensive program about business, tax changes to the value-added tax in the overall industry for 2016 (shortened as “program” below). This essay attempts to probe what the program would impact upon the transport industry along with the causes in respect of tax incidence and so forth in the model of DID (Difference-in-Difference model). Based on this, further relevant suggestions and reflections upon improvements and soluble schemes of the policies are going to be proposed.

Roles of the DYRK Kinase Pom2 in Cytokinesis, Mitochondrial Morphology, and Sporulation in Fission Yeast

Abstract: Pom2 is predicted to be a dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation regulated kinase (DYRK) related to Pom1 in Schizosaccharomyces pombe. DYRKs share a kinase domain capable of catalyzing autophosphorylation on tyrosine and exogenous phosphorylation on serine/threonine residues. Here we show that Pom2 is functionally different from the well-characterized Pom1, although they share 55% identity in the kinase domain and the Pom2 kinase domain functionally complements that of Pom1. Pom2 localizes to mitochondria throughout the cell cycle and to the contractile ring during late stages of cytokinesis. Overexpression but not deletion of pom2 results in severe defects in cytokinesis, indicating that Pom2 might share an overlapping function with other proteins in regulating cytokinesis. Gain and loss of function analyses reveal that Pom2 is required for maintaining mitochondrial morphology independently of microtubules. Intriguingly, most meiotic pom2Δ cells form aberrant asci with meiotic and/or forespore membrane formation defects. Taken together, Pom2 is a novel DYRK kinase involved in regulating cytokinesis, mitochondrial morphology, meiosis, and sporulation in fission yeast.

Abstract: Systematic differentiation of amyloid (Aβ) species could be important for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). In spite of significant progress, controversies remain regarding which species are the primary contributors to the AD pathology, and which species could be used as the best biomarkers for its diagnosis. These controversies are partially caused by the lack of reliable methods to differentiate the complicated subtypes of Aβ species. Particularly, differentiation of Aβ monomers from toxic higher molecular weight species (HrMW) would be beneficial for drug screening, diagnosis, and molecular mechanism studies. However, fast and cheap methods for these specific aims are still lacking.
