Waning Sovereignty? The Kindred Myths of “Origins” and “Vanishing” of the State  [PDF]
Ramon Maiz
Open Journal of Political Science (OJPS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ojps.2017.73032
Abstract: This article discusses, from an historical-neo-institutionalist and relational-strate- gic perspective, the postmodern thesis of the end of the state due to the increasing processes of world globalization. The main hypothesis is that the arguments which predict the structural crisis or the disappearance of the State in the age of neo-liberal globalization have their roots in a theoretically and historically implausible concept of sovereignty that ignores and distorts central aspects of statehood and state-building in terms of both institutional structure and political action. The myth of the “origins” of the State in Medieval or Renaissance times shares with the postmodern vision of the “vanishing” of the state, the same underlying misconception of the scope and limits of the state power. Sovereignty (the monopolization of political power) was always a claim, a desiderata, a contested andunfinished political project not an accomplished empirical fact.
Problemas genológicos del discurso ensayístico: Origen y configuración de un género
MAIZ,CLAUDIO;
Acta literaria , 2003, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-68482003002800007
Abstract: the purpose of this work consists of unfolding certain arguments that facilitate the task of clarifying the gender issues and the literary value of the essay. for it we have resorted to a distinction between the essential theory and the conditional poetics. the latter has been of great effectiveness for they adjust better to the examination of a literary gender of renaissance modernity, not anticipated by the classical poetic. the conditional poetics raise the literary property of texts in relation with the contextual and non co-textual levels. the argumentative structure of the essay constitutes the hinge that assembles the more or less systematic order of thought, reason why it approaches the theoretical discourse, but the preoccupation about the "dispositio" and the "elocutio" of the rhetorical structures projects it towards an artistic notion
The purpose of this work consists of unfolding certain arguments that facilitate the task of clarifying the gender issues and the literary value of the essay.
FEDERALISMO PLURINACIONAL: UNA TEORíA POLíTICA NORMATIVA
Ramón Maiz
Revista d'Estudis Autonòmics i Federals , 2006,
Abstract: The author maintains that, despite studies of an empirical-positive kind havingmade enormous contributions over recent years to the understanding offederal systems and to the effects of their structures on aspects of politicaland social life, these contributions neither exhaust nor in themselves resolvethe need for a substantial regulatory theory. For example, the question ofthe stability of federal systems, inherent to the empirical-positive theory,does not intrinsically resolve the other theory referring to the justice of political-territorial organisation in complex societies. In this sense, the article isorganised into four sections and a range of conclusions. The first section reflectson the important regulatory component that, explicitly or implicitly,is the foundation and structure of empirical research; the theoretical basesinherent to regulatory theory are decisive in the formulation of questions,hypotheses and evaluations concerning the operation of federal systems. Thesecond section discusses the theoretic silence, the invisibility of the federalprinciple in the canon of contemporary liberal regulatory theory, focussingthe issue on the contribution made by John Rawls. The third section ques-84 tions the assumption that pactism, the basis of federalist ideas, need neces-sarily become a contractualist formulation of federalism. The fourth sectionanalyses the nature of the common links necessary to a state of states and,with this in mind, highlights the need to reintroduce, though duly reformulated,a certain idea of nation into the debate.
Strict Relationship: Potential - energy levels
F. Maiz,M. Nasr
Physics , 2008,
Abstract: We have developed a new simple method to build the exact analytical expression of the eigenenergy as a function of the potential. The idea of our method is mainly based on the partitioning of the potential curve, solving the Schr\"odinger equation, realizing a discrete form of the energy quantification condition, and finally, deriving its integral form which permit to create a simple relation: Energy-potential. Our method has been applied to three examples: the well-known square well, the harmonic oscillators, and the Morse potential. Our non numerical method is more realistic, simpler, with high degree of accuracy, both satisfactory and not computationally complicated, and applicable for any forms of potential. Our results agree very well with the preceding ones.
The Bounded Anharmonic Oscillators: a simple approach

Physics , 2008,
Abstract: We have developed a simple method to solve anharmonic oscillators equations. The idea of our method is mainly based on the partitioning of the potential curve into (n+1) small intervals, solving the Schr\"odinger equation in each subintervals, and writing the continuity conditions of each solutions at each subintervals boundary, which leads to the energy quantification condition, so to the energy levels, and finally, one can calculate the exact wave function associated to each energy level. Our method has been applied to three examples: the well-known square well, the bounded and unbounded harmonic oscillators, the Morse potential, and some anharmonic oscillators bounded by two infinite walls. Our method is more realistic, simpler, with high degree of accuracy, both satisfactory and not computationally complicated, and applicable for any forms of potential. Our results agree very well with the preceding ones.
Inteligencias múltiples: Una innovación pedagógica para potenciar el proceso ense?anza aprendizaje
Suárez,Jaqueline; Maiz,Francelys; Meza,Marina;
Investigación y Postgrado , 2010,
Abstract: the concept of what intelligence is has changed very quickly due the fact that it was understood as static, innate and influenced by heritage and culture. therefore, gardner?s multiple intelligences theory gives us a pluralized vision of intelligence, identifying various perspectives and concluding that the cognitive potential of every single person is different. in the education field, this theory gives relevant information about learning styles, helping to see students as individual entities that learn in different ways, which must provide the ability to create diverse methodological strategies with one common theme, improving the students? possibility to recognize and take as much advantage as they can of their cognitive capabilities. in this research, each one of the intelligences is discussed, as well as activities and exercises that can be done to reinforce each one of the intelligences so that teachers will be able to recognize their application within the educational context. keywords: intelligence; multiple intelligences theory; methodological strategies; cognitive capabilities.
EL ROL DE LA FIBRA DIETéTICA EN LA NUTRICION ENTERAL
Valenzuela B,Andrea; Maiz G,Alberto;
Revista chilena de nutrición , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-75182006000400002
Abstract: dietary fiber is constituted by a heterogeneous group of substances of vegetal origin that are resistant to digestion and absorption in the upper gastrointestinal tract, but that are partially or totally digested in the colon. the insoluble fiber aids to maintain a normal intestinal transit and the soluble one has beneficial effects on the micro flora of the colon where it is fermented generating short chain fatty acids (scfa). the scfa are the preferential substrate for the intestinal cells. despite the knowledge of the beneficial effects of the fiber the formulas of enteral nutrition (en) that are commonly indicated do not contain it. recently, soluble fiber fructooligosaccharides (fos) has been incorporated into some of these formulas, being useful for the handling of diarrhea on patients receiving en treatment. moreover, these formulas seem to be useful for the treatment of patients with inflammatory intestinal diseases or short-bowel syndrome
EL ROL DE LA FIBRA DIETéTICA EN LA NUTRICION ENTERAL ROLE OF DIETARY FIBER IN ENTERAL NUTRITION
Andrea Valenzuela B,Alberto Maiz G
Además, estas fórmulas parecen ser útiles en el tratamiento de pacientes con enfermedades intestinales inflamatorias y en el síndrome de intestino corto Dietary fiber is constituted by a heterogeneous group of substances of vegetal origin that are resistant to digestion and absorption in the upper gastrointestinal tract, but that are partially or totally digested in the colon.
