Inflation, Monetary Policy and Economic Growth in Mexico. An Inverse Causation, 1970-2009  [PDF]
Eduardo Loría, Jorge Ramírez
Modern Economy (ME) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/me.2011.25093
Abstract: It is demonstrated through an Structural Vector Auto Regression (SVAR) model which distinguishes short and long term effects, that the monetary policy implemented in Mexico (1970-2008) has been successful in reducing inflation at the cost of stagnation, especially after 2002. Inflation Targeting is contradictory in itself because, while it is efficient in improving transparency and credibility of the monetary policy, it does not solve the structural causes of inflation and conversely, increases the financial costs of economic agents.
Ramírez,Carlos A;
Estudios de Filosofía , 2008,
Abstract: abstract: as the title well indicates, the present piece is directed to accounting for the genesis of human reason and this is achieved, in the frst instance, through the analysis of the idea of god, which according to schelling, is the content of human reason, though because of this, he constitutes himslef as something rational. it is precisely this rational character of god that constitutes the step from the absolute to him, in other words, what schelling terms the most primary form of the spirit. this search for the genealogy of reason is done, in the present text, in the books "piece on liberty" (1809) and in the different versions of "the ages of the world" (1811-1815). in these texts there is an elaboration of the presence of german thinkers such as kant and fichte in schelling′s thought and besides of the presence in it of concepts such as act, through which he tries to account in a better way for the so-called originary potency, that is, of wanting that which is called original being. thus, through this analysis the conclusion is drawn that the potency is what is always thinkable which generates the thinking act. in regard to a theory of rationality this means the following: reason, whose ontologized form in god, spontaneously establishes itself but on a base which she has not established.
"Todos son genios": La crítica a la estetización de la acción política en Carl Schmitt
Ramírez,Carlos A;
Revista de Estudios Sociales , 2009,
Abstract: in political romanticism, a work from 1919, carl schmitt interprets german romanticism as a "metaphysic" in which aesthetic concepts become the guiding concepts of all human activity. on this basis, he analyses and criticizes the effects of the expansion of aesthetic concerns on political action. this essay reconstructs schmitt's argument as a conceptual-historical genealogy of a modern discursive formation from which, as a by-product, a form of subjectivity now present in advanced capitalist societies was constituted. by contrasting schmitt's concept of the political in political romanticism with various works of contemporary sociology (boltanski, lipovetsky, schulze), the article concludes by pointing out the political phenomena that are linked to the diffusion of this type of subjectivity.

CFD Modelling of an Open Core Downdraft Moving Bed Biomass Gasifier
A. Rogel–Ramírez
Ingeniería, investigación y tecnología , 2008,
Abstract: This paper contains the description of a bidimensional Computacional Fluid Dynamics (CFD), model developed to simulate the flow and reaction in a stratified downdraft biomass gasifier, whereby Eulerian conservation equations are solved for particle and gas phase components, velocities and specific enthalpies. The model is based on the PHOENICS package and represents a tool which can be used in gasifier analysis and design. Contributions of chemical kinetic and the mixing rate using the EBU approach are considered in the gas phase global homogeneous reactions. The harmonic blending of chemical kinetics and mass transfer effects, determine the global heterogeneous reactions between char and O2, CO2, and H2O. The turbulence effect in the gas phase is accounted by the standard k–s approach. The model provides information of the producer gas composition, velocities and temperature at the outlet, and allows different operating parameters and feed properties to be changed. Finally, a comparison with experimental data available in literature was done, which showed satisfactory agreement from a qualitative point of view, though further validation is required.

Khintchine types of translated coordinate hyperplanes
Felipe A. Ramírez
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: There has been great interest in developing a theory of "Khintchine types" for manifolds embedded in Euclidean space, and considerable progress has been made for curved manifolds. We treat the case of translates of coordinate hyperplanes, decidedly flat manifolds. In our main results, we fix the value of one coordinate in Euclidean space and describe the set of points in the fiber over that fixed coordinate that are rationally approximable at a given rate. We identify translated coordinate hyperplanes for which there is a dichotomy as in Khintchine's Theorem: the set of rationally approximable points is null or full, according to the convergence or divergence of the series associated to the desired rate of approximation.
Images for the History of Communication: The First Engravings from the Americas  [PDF]
María del Mar Ramírez-Alvarado
Advances in Historical Studies (AHS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ahs.2015.41006
Abstract: The purpose of this work is to make an in-depth study of the image as a form of representation of the reality which reflects history in a unique way, and to discuss the different factors that may have impact on the correlation between reality and its representation by an image. For that purpose, the first engravings circulated in Europe of American natives will be used as an example, to determine their characteristics, and their authors. The study demonstrates how the images are determined by the interpretations, beliefs and previous knowledge of the artists or publishers of the 92 studied images, none of whom had direct knowledge of the American reality.
PADRES Y DESARROLLO DE LOS HIJOS: PRACTICAS DE CRIANZA
Ramírez,María Aurelia;
Estudios pedagógicos (Valdivia) , 2005, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-07052005000200011
Abstract: parents contribute to the social and emotional development of their children by interacting with them and using education practices. therefore, studies about education practices are revised, concentrating on the classifications made by various authors, on the practices, or on the different ways which parents use to control their children's behavior, to demonstrate the differences between the two groups of parents as well as the factors which contribute to those differences
