Abstract: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is an increasingly prevalent behavioural disorder characterised by inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity. Valeriana officinalis is a botanical medicine that has been found to be beneficial in the treatment of disorders characterised by restlessness. To date, no research has been conducted on homeopathic preparations of Valeriana officinalis for this condition. The aim of this three-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study was to determine the efficacy of homeopathic Valeriana officinalis mother tincture (MT) and 3X potency on ADHD. Thirty children between the ages of five and 11 years, pre-diagnosed with ADHD, were recruited. Valeriana officinalis MT (n = 10), 3X (n = 10) or placebo (n = 10) were administered orally three times a day for two weeks. Efficacy was assessed by the Barkley and DuPaul teacher rating scale, the children’s checking task and the parent symptom questionnaire scores on day 1 (prior to treatment), at the end of weeks two and three (with treatment), and then after the third week following no treatment. A statistically significant improvement was found in the participants’ behaviour in the MT and 3X groups, with particular reference to sustained attention, anxiety and impulsivity and/or hyperactivity. Preliminary findings suggested that Valeriana officinalis MT and 3X may have applications in the management of ADHD.Aandagsgebrek-hiperaktiwiteitsindroom (AGHS) is toenemend ’n algemene gedragsongesteldheid, wat gekenmerk word deur onoplettendheid, impulsiwiteit en hiperaktiwiteit. Valeriana officinalis MT (n = 10), 3X (n = 10) of troosmedisyne (n = 10) is mondeliks drie keer per dag vir twee weke toegedien. Effektiwiteit is gemeet op dag 1 (voor behandeling), aan die einde van weke twee en drie (tydens behandeling), en na die derde week sonder behandeling deur middel van tellings wat behaal is op die Barkley and DuPaul teacher rating scale, di

Abstract: Expressive territorial unevenness represents the main characteristic of the regional development of Serbia. Spatial differentiation of socio-demographic and economic-functional development is visible at a number of levels development axis - undeveloped region, developed centre and insufficiently developed outskirts, Belgrade and other regions, etc. By positioning the Districts (as meso-regional entities) according to the values of selected development indicators, this paper points to their role in the existing regional reality of Serbia.

Abstract: The objective of the project was a laboratory check of biodegradation of soil samples contaminated by PAH(s), PCB(s) and NEL from the hazardous waste dump in the Poz átky locality. For the laboratory check, pure bacterial cultures of Rhodococcus sp. and Pseudomonas putida have been used. It is apparent from the laboratory experiments results that after one-month bacterial leaching, applying the bacterium of Rhodococcus sp. there is a 83 % removal of NEL, a 79 % removal of PAH(s) and a 14 % removal of PCB(s). Applying a pure culture of Pseudomonas putida there is a 87 % removal of NEL, a 81 % removal of PAH(s) and a 14 % removal of PCB(s).

Abstract: Following the end of the Cold war, a period of rule breaking and rule making” has emerged. Its nature is contradictory, exlusionary, based on the power division. The powerfull are rule makers, determining the scope of their relevancy(self-exclusion) and the form of implementation. The justification, given for the rule breaking and rule making” is the moral imperativ and the vacuum created by limited relevance of the state-centric international law that can not address the problems that have come about as the result of the transformation of sovereignty, emergence of new non-state actors in the era of globalization. However, what is emerging is not a new normative order. The dramatic inequalities of states and their sovereign powers are perpetuated, the criteria of arbitrariness in the use of force is extended and the notion of protecting human rights is instrumentalized for geopolitical interests. In orderfor moral dependency” to become a force of cosmopolitism, coherent critical reflection is required, as well as systematic and uwavering efforts invested into the strengthening of democracy and rule of law at the global level, decisive affirmation of the spirit of cooperation and non-violent conflict resolution and the development of effective instruments of transcending the new exclusionary practices generated by the old/new world.

Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2008, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd0802051m
Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to emphasize particular aspects in connection with deindustrialization and globalization processes during transformation of the economic structure in postindustrial age. Conceptions and main features of globalization are presented, i.e. growing interdependence on the global level, then primary characteristics of industrial globalization as one of the forms of globalization process, and in general some brief considerations about the influence of the economic globalization on deindustrialization. In modern economic environment, transformation of production includes, besides other structural changes, modification of the geography of manufacturing and new industrial space - development of the newly industrializing countries, and new spatial forms of production allocation and possibilities for linking of various activities and services (technopolis, industrial, technology and science park, etc.).

Theoria, Beograd , 2011, DOI: 10.2298/theo1104073j
Abstract: In this paper we take a closer look at some aspects of Hintikka's philosophy of mathematics. In his book The Principles of Mathematics Revisited and several more recent texts, Hintikka proposed a new foundation of mathematics. He claims that he is defending the realist approach. We will briefly sketch his main arguments and then we will discuss this specific form of Realism.
Two impossibility results in public choice theory
Jovanovi? Radmila
Theoria, Beograd , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/theo1203055j
Abstract: In this paper we deal with some problems of public choice theory. We start with exposition of Arrow's impossibility result which was the starting point in constitution of a whole problematic: the impossibility of existence of a social welfare function. We will mention one solution to the paradox, proposed by Duncan Black, namely, the existence of single-peaked structure of preferences. Then we will pass to another impossibility result that of impossibility of aggregation of judgments over multiple interconnected propositions. We will introduce the idea that this problem represents a larger frame in which the problem of aggregating preferences can be embedded. We will expose one solution to that paradox as well - the existence of unidimensional alignment in the structure of individuals. The main question then is by what means do we achieve this kind of a structure? We will propose a skecth for a future study in which a belief revision theory play important role in finding a solution to these problems.
