General Logarithmic Corrections to Bekenstein-Hawking Entropy

Abstract: Recently, there has been a lot of attention devoted to resolving the quantum corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the black hole. In particular, the coefficient of the logarithmic term in the black hole entropy correction has been of great interest. In this paper, the black hole is corresponded to a canonical ensemble in statistics by radiant spectrum, resulted from the black hole tunneling effect studies and the partition function of ensemble is derived. Then the entropy of the black hole is calculated. When the first order approximation is taken into account, the logarithmic term of entropy correction is consistent with the result of the generalized uncertainty principle. In our calculation, there are no uncertainty factors. The prefactor of the logarithmic correction and the one if fluctuation is considered are the same. Our result shows that if the thermal capacity is negative, there is no divergent term. We provide a general method for further discussion on quantum correction to Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. We also offer a theoretical basis for comparing string theory and loop quantum gravitaty and deciding which one is more reliable.
Generalized uncertainty principle and correction value to the black hole entropy

Abstract: Recently, there has been much attention devoted to resolving the quantum corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the black hole. In particular, many researchers have expressed a vested interest in the coefficient of the logarithmic term of the black hole entropy correction term. In this paper, we calculate the correction value of the black hole entropy by utilizing the generalized uncertainty principle and obtain the correction term caused by the generalized uncertainty principle. Because in our calculation we think that the Bekenstein-Hawking area theorem is still valid after considering the generalized uncertainty principle, we derive that the coefficient of the logarithmic term of the black hole entropy correction term is negative. This result is different from the known result at present. Our method is valid not only for single horizon spacetime but also for double horizons spacetime. In the whole process, the physics idea is clear and calculation is simple. It offers a new way for studying the condition that Bekenstein-Hawking area theorem is valid.
Changes of tongue and pulse parameters in 50 lung cancer patients treated with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine

Abstract: Objective: To observe the changes of tongue and pulse parameters in lung cancer patients after combined treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and to probe into the application of the tongue and pulse parameters in evaluation of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapy on lung cancer patients.Methods: Electropulsograms and tongue pictures of 50 lung cancer patients were examined by TP-Ⅰ digital electropulsography. The tongue and pulse parameters of the patients, including the indexes of moistness and dryness, thinness and thickness, fissure, swollenness and emaciation, greasiness and likeness of curd, and power spectral ratios (PSRs) 1, 2, 3, 4 and cepstrum spectral ratios (CSRs) 1, 2, 3, 4, were observed after 1- and 2-month treatment with Yifei Kangliu Oral Liquid (a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine) plus chemotherapy, respectively. The above parameters of the lung cancer patients were compared before and after the treatment.Results: PSR1 increased, while PSR2 decreased significantly after 1- and 2-month treatment as compared with before treatment (P<0.05). PSR1 decreased, while PSR2 increased after 2-month treatment as compared with after 1-month treatment (P<0.05). PSR4 after 1-month treatment was lower than before treatment (P<0.05). The tongue parameters including the indexes of moistness and dryness, and greasiness and likeness of curd increased significantly after 1- and 2-month treatment as compared with before treatment (P<0.05). The index of thinness and thickness decreased, while the index of fissure increased significantly after 1-month treatment as compared with before treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion: Tongue and pulse parameters can be regarded as one of reference indexes in evaluation of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapy on lung cancer patients.
Influence of single leaf Asarum himalaicum on renal function of rabbits

Abstract: Objective: To study the influence of single leaf Asarum himalaicum on the renal function of rabbits. Methods: Rabbits were divided into three groups. Asarum himalaicum, Asarum heterotropoides and normal saline were intravenously administered to the rabbits of one group respectively. The urine volume per minute, urine pH, urine glucose, protein and red blood cells, BUN, SCr, TXB2, 6-keto-PGF1α, TXB2/6-keto-PGF1α, endothelin, p-aminohippuric acid clearance rate and phenolsulfonphthalein excretion rate were tested before and after the administration. Results: A certain dosage of single leaf Asarum himalaicum caused acute renal failure in rabbits. The indices tested were significantly diffrent between rabbits administered Asarum himalaicum and normal saline.As compared with the rabbits administered Asarum heterotropoides,the results of indices tested decreased, but without statistical significance, except for SCr. Conclusion: The single leaf Asarum himalaicum can cause renal damage to rabbits.Its renal toxicity is lower that that of Asarum heterotropoides.
A comparative study of nemertean complete mitochondrial genomes, including two new ones for Nectonemertes cf. mirabilis and Zygeupolia rubens, may elucidate the fundamental pattern for the phylum Nemertea

Abstract: The sizes of the entire mitochondrial genomes are 15365 bp for N. cf. mirabilis and 15513 bp for Z. rubens. Each circular genome contains 37 genes and an AT-rich non-coding region, and overall nucleotide composition is AT-rich. In both species, there is significant strand asymmetry in the distribution of nucleotides, with the coding strand being richer in T than A and in G than C. The AT-rich non-coding regions of the two genomes have some repeat sequences and stem-loop structures, both of which may be associated with the initiation of replication or transcription. The 22 tRNAs show variable substitution patterns in nemerteans, with higher sequence conservation in genes located on the H strand. Gene arrangement of N. cf. mirabilis is identical to that of Paranemertes cf. peregrina, both of which are Hoplonemertea, while that of Z. rubens is the same as in Lineus viridis, both of which are Heteronemertea. Comparison of the gene arrangements and phylogenomic analysis based on concatenated nucleotide sequences of the 12 mitochondrial protein-coding genes revealed that species with closer relationships share more identical gene blocks.The two new mitochondrial genomes share many features, including gene contents, with other known nemertean mitochondrial genomes. The tRNA families display a composite substitution pathway. Gene order comparison to the proposed ground pattern of Bilateria and some lophotrochozoans suggests that the nemertean ancestral mitochondrial gene order most closely resembles the heteronemertean type. Phylogenetic analysis proposes a sister-group relationship between Hetero- and Hoplonemertea, which supports one of two recent alternative hypotheses of nemertean phylogeny.Knowledge of mitochondrial genomes is important for many scientific disciplines [1,2] and the relative arrangement of mitochondrial genes has been effective for studying phylogenetic relationships [3,4]. A ministop band in a single-defect photonic crystal waveguide based on silicon on insulator

Abstract: This paper reports that a two-dimensional single-defect photonic crystal waveguide in the \textit{$\Ga$-K} direction with triangular lattice on a silicon-on-insulator substrate is fabricated by the combination of electron beam lithography and inductively coupled plasma etching. A ministop band (MSB) is observed by the measurement of transmission characteristics. It results from the coupling between the two modes with the same symmetry, which is analysed from the stimulated band diagram by the effective index and the two-dimensional plane wave expansion methods. The parameter working on the MSB is the ratio of the radius of air holes to the lattice constant, $r/a$. It is obtained that the critical $r/a$ value determining the occurrence or disappearance of MSB is 0.36. When $r/a $ is larger than or equal to 0.36, the MSB occurs. However, when $r/a $ is smaller than 0.36, the MSB disappears.
Relationship Between a Non-Malleable Commitment Scheme and a Modified Selective Decommitment Scheme

Abstract: The notion of commitment is one of the most important primitives in cryptography. To meet various needs, there have been many kinds of commitment schemes among which non-malleable commitment scheme and selective decommitment scheme are important and in general use. And, the increasing security demands suggest a closer look at the relationship between the two schemes. For the convenience of our proof, a new definition for selective decommitment scheme is proposed, which is named as modified selective decommitment scheme. The security relation is deduced that a non-malleable commitment scheme implies a modified selective decommitment scheme, but the reverse is not true.
Changes in the expression of MMP2, MMP9, and ColIV in stromal cells in oral squamous tongue cell carcinoma: relationships and prognostic implications

Abstract: Background Type IV collagen (ColIV) is the most important scaffold for the basement membrane (BM) proteins, and plays an important role in regulating and limiting tumour invasion and metastasis. Methods Here, we observed the changes in morphology and distribution of type IV collagen (ColIV) in the basement membrane (BM) surrounding nests of carcinoma in 48 patients with oral tongue squamous cell (OTSCC). We examined the correlation between the expressions of ColIV, MMP-2 and MMP-9 and the prognosis of OTSCC patients. The intensity and patterns of expression were assessed immunohistochemically using anti-human mouse monoclonal MMP-2, MMP-9 and Col IV antibodies. Statistical analyses were performed to determine the prognostic correlations of ColIV, MMP-2, and MMP-9 levels. Results MMP-2 and MMP-9 expressions in OTSCC were higher than those in normal oral mucosa and dysplastic oral mucosa group(MMP-2 iOD: 66.40 ± 24.20, 134.69 ± 37.08, and 357.79 ± 116.78; MMP-9 iOD: 88.05 ± 23.85, 307.13 ± 93.22, and 791.31 ± 260.52; in normal, dysplastic oral mucosa, and tumour tissues, respectively, P < 0.01); however, ColIV immunoreactivity was lower (ColIV iOD: 406.87 ± 62.95, 247.83 ± 42.30, and 151.92 ± 38.17 in normal, dysplastic oral mucosa, and tumour tissues, respectively, P < 0.01). High tumour and stromal MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression was significantly associated with positive lymph node status. Col IV expression was associated with positive lymph node status (P < 0.05), and have negatively correlated with the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9. Overall survival was significantly shorter in patients with high tumour and stromal MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression, and tended to be shorter in patients with low ColIV expression. Conclusions Degradation of ColIV was closely related to increased MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression; MMP-9 have more important function than MMP-2 during the cancer development. Monitoring changes in the expression of ColIV, MMP-2, and MMP-9 may be a useful technique for assessing prognoses in OTSCC patients.
Study on terrain radiant correction of high spatial resolution image of mountainous area.

Abstract: High spatial resolution remote sensing images such as satellite image and airborne image are much widely used in agriculture,forestry recourses inventory and the mountain ecology monitoring area.However,the shades in image caused by terrain and the sensor side view scanning impact the application of these images.To this problem,given the moment matching theory which is used successfully in destriping the remote sensing image,the terrain radiant correction based on moment matching was presented.The C correction method which is validated the best terrain correction method to TM image was improved.One meter spatial resolution airborne image of Beijing west mountainous area was corrected by moment matching and C correction improved method.Then the processed results were compared and analyzed.Results show that the moment matching is better than the C correction improved method to the terrain complex area and large image.
