Considerations about the Polyssemy of Meanings in a Daily Newspaper: a essay about the press
Bonetti, Alexandre
Athenea Digital , 2008,
Abstract: Are the mass media ideologically dominant, or is their unfettered polysemy a constructive force in modern society? From the perspective of Constructivist Social Psychology we argue that the daily newspaper is a mosaic in which promotes multiple dialogues about, and representations of, the news. A newspaper is dialogic in three senses: it is a sounding-board for multiple voices, from various sources and with correspondingly various positions on the news; it is a social actor, with its own voice and position about what it reports; and it is a forum for dialogue with readers, who are active co-authors of the stories that they read. In other words, the newspaper is a channel for the expression of the hegemonic struggles of a given place and time.
Sectorization of the Concei o Lagoon′s southern sector. Setoriza o do subsistema sul da lagoa da Concei o, Santa Catarina

Brazilian Journal of Aquatic Science and Technology , 2005,
Abstract: The aim of this work is to propose a regionalization of southern Concei o Lagoon subsystem, located at the Santa Catarina Island - SC, based on its grain size, compositional and physiographic characteristics. The subsystem is part of a chocked lagoon, being connected to the remaining lagunar body by a narrow 3.5 m deep channel on its northern portion. It is surrounded by granitic rocks at west and by quaternary sedimentary deposits at east, north and south. Sediment samples were sampled at 16 regularly distributed points and were processed to determinate biodetritic carbonate, organic carbon content and conventional grain size parameters. Continuous surfaces of the variables were obtained through kriging interpolation. A bathymetric map resulted from the interpolation of 2.464 depth points digitalized from charts at the scale of 1:2.000 m. Individual sectors were identified based on data integration and spatial analysis of sedimentologic and bathymetric parameters. The integration of the variables through cluster analysis yielded the regionalization of the subsystem, were three depositional environments were defined: a predominantly sandy, a sand-muddy and a muddy environment. Besides these three, a fourth transitional environment situated between the banks and deeper areas was recognized. The muddy environment was subdivided in three distinct sub environments: deep muddy, sheltered muddy and organic muddy. Their limits were set through the analysis of the spatial behavior of sediment descriptors and bathymetry. From the results it is possible to conclude that the spatial and cluster analysis of morpho-sedimentological descriptors was efficient on the regionalization of the environment in study, even considering the small number of sediment samples. Can't do it, won't do it! Developing a theoretically framed intervention to encourage better decontamination practice in Scottish dental practices

Implementation Science , 2009, DOI: 10.1186/1748-5908-4-31
Abstract: A postal questionnaire assessing current decontamination practice and beliefs was sent to a random sample of 200 general dental practitioners.Fifty-seven percent (N = 113) of general dental practitioners responded. The survey showed large variation in what dentists self-reported doing, perceived as necessary or practical to do, were willing to do, felt able to do, as well as what they planned to change. Only 15% self-reported compliance with the five key guideline-recommended individual-level decontamination behaviours; only 2% reported compliance with all 11 key practice-level behaviours. The results also showed that our participants were almost equally split between dentists who were completely unmotivated to implement best decontamination practice or else highly motivated. The results suggested there was scope for further enhancing the implementation of decontamination guidance, and that an intervention with the greatest likelihood of success would require a tailored format, specifically targeting components of the theory of planned behaviour (attitude, perceived behavioural control, intention) and implementation intention theory (action planning).Considerable resources are devoted to encouraging clinicians to implement evidence-based practice using interventions with erratic success records, or no known applicability to a specific clinical behaviour, selected mainly by means of researchers' intuition or optimism. The methodology used to develop this implementation intervention is not limited to decontamination or to a single segment of primary care. It is also in accordance with the preliminary stages of the framework for evaluating complex interventions suggested by the medical research council. The next phases of this work are to test the intervention feasibility and evaluate its effectiveness in a randomised control trial.It is estimated that in excess of 180 million instruments are re-processed in Scottish general dental practices per annum [1]. Abstract: The authors present sixteen patients with congenital kyphosis treated by posterior spinal arthrodesis. A homologous or autogenous iliac bone graft was used. The patients walked with Risser-Cotrel body cast in the 6 months of postoperatory period. The mean time of follow-up was 58,25 months and the mean age of the patients at time of surgery was 9,3 years. The mean angular value of the congenital kyphosis before surgery was 50,44masculine Cobb and after ther surgery it was 46,94masculine Cobb. One of the patients who had curve of 69masculine Cobb, presented pseudoarthrosis. The final results were good in 10, regular in 4 and bad in 2 patients. The need of the diagnostic and precocious treatment is recommended by authors.
Direct Observation of Large Amplitude Spin Excitations Localized in a Spin-Transfer Nanocontact

Physics , 2015, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.115.127205
Abstract: We report the direct observation of large amplitude spin-excitations localized in a spin-transfer nanocontact using scanning transmission x-ray microscopy. Experiments were conducted using a nanocontact to an ultrathin ferromagnetic multilayer with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. Element resolved x-ray magnetic circular dichroism images show an abrupt onset of spin excitations at a threshold current that are localized beneath the nanocontact, with average spin precession cone angles of 25{\deg} at the contact center. The results strongly suggest that we have observed a localized magnetic soliton.
Changes in water composition of Lagoa de Ibiraquera (SC) as a consequence of the opening dynamic of its mouth. Mudan as nas características composicionais das águas da lagoa de Ibiraquera (SC) em resposta a dinamica de abertura e fechamento de sua desembocadura

Brazilian Journal of Aquatic Science and Technology , 2005,
Abstract: The aim of this paper was to hydrochemically characterize Ibiraquera Lagoon (SC) and verify the changes in water column related to the opening dynamics of its mouth. The monthly monitoring of five physical-chemical properties and dissolved inorganic nutrients from march 2003 to april 2004 demonstrated the mixohaline nature of this lagoon, which presents well oxygenated waters, low turbidity and low inorganic dissolved nutrients concentrations. This lagoon is isolated from coastal waters influence in the most part of the year since its sand bar opens only under severe rainy events or by human intervention. On these situations changes in the water level and physical-chemical properties can be observed along all this water body. Among the monitored variables, the most significant alterations were observed in salinity, silica and dissolved oxygen. An increase in salinity and silica values was observed after the sand bar opening in all lagoonal sectors. In contrast, dissolved oxygen concentrations decreased. These changes were associated to the mixture of brackish and marine waters and to nutrient releases from surface bottom sediments to the water column as a consequence of the intensification of circulation processes. Abstract and Applied Analysis , 2005, DOI: 10.1155/aaa.2005.105
Abstract: We have investigated a dynamic thermoviscoelasticsystem (2003), establishing existence and uniqueness results for a related initial and boundary valuesproblem. The aim of the present paper is to study the asymptoticbehavior of the solution to the above problem as the power of theacceleration forces goes to zero. In particular, well-posednessand regularity results for the limit (quasistatic) problem arerecovered.
Entre femininos e masculinos: negociando rela??es de gênero no campo político
Bonetti, Alinne de Lima;
Cadernos Pagu , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332003000100007
Abstract: analysing the daily political practices of a group of legal advocates - women of the working strata of porto alegre that followed the capacitation course in human rights - i was able to notice the different gender attributes revealed by their taking part in porto alegre?s political context. these women negotiate and produce contextually new gender relations in a political field constituted by attributes culturally associated with the masculine. they do so either in the clash between different feminines or in the appropriation and instantiation of attributes of masculines. from the ethnography i undertook among this group of women, i propose a reflection on how their political practice generates different gender relations in porto alegre?s political context.
Estudos de medicamentos biosimilares
Yoshida, Winston Bonetti;
Jornal Vascular Brasileiro , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1677-54492010000300008
Abstract: in brazil, the registration of new drugs is carried out only when the regulatory agency (anvisa, acronym in portuguese) is fully satisfied with the evidence of their quality, efficacy and safety, presented by a pharmaceutical industry that strive for this registration. with the patent expiration, pharmaceutical companies are attracted to produce biological medicines called biosimilar or biogenerics or simply generics, whose approval may result in reduced treatment costs. but it is necessary that the biosimilar be, at least, equally effective and safe and without contaminants in relation to the original. recent consensus guidelines aim to establish criteria for efficacy and safety of these medicines. preclinical studies in vitro and in vivo, the origin of raw materials and clinical studies phase i, ii and iii are recommended for biosimilar medicine registration in the international market. low molecular weight heparins are found in this situation. in this review we specifically addressed this type of medicine, which could serve as a benchmark for other biosimilar medicines.
