In the last three decades the theme of cultural mediation has reacquired considerable relevance in political discourse and programmes that highlight the importance of developing educational programmes and attracting the public to the arts and culture. This understanding of mediation is associated with the enduring principle of “cultural democratisation” and also reflects the increasing concerns of cultural agents and institutions regarding sustainability, in a context in which public authorities are tending to withdraw funding. In line with these concerns, Portugal has also seen the development of “education services” and new cultural mediation strategies in many institutions and facilities. This article focuses on the Casa da Música Education Service and analyses the unique features of certain projects it has developed, with the aim of understanding how they incorporate an “experimental” dimension into their relations with different publics and develop new ways of promoting their interest in creative practices in music. It also discusses the trend towards broader changes in cultural mediation strategies in arts organisations.

Abstract: in general, studies on sports leadership have focused on the coach, paying less attention to the leadership shown by some athletes in relation to their peers. however, their daily practice shows us the importance in sports teams of peer leaders, due to their influence on the other players and their impact on all the group processes. this study provides a theoretical overview of the literature, focusing on advances in the study of peer leadership in relation to the conceptual issues and the assessment systems used. specifically, it offers an integrated vision, at the theoretical and methodological level, based on recent publications, which allows us to establish a current point of reference and suggests future lines of research.

Espanha (gênese de uma revolu o): the archaeology of the insurgent Spain
Antón Corbacho Quintela
Via Litterae , 2009,
Abstract: In the Autumn of 1937, the Galician-Spanish writer álvaro de las Casas, who had just arrived in Brazil as an exiled, published in Rio de Janeiro the essay Espanha (gênese de uma revolu o). The book was a presentation to the Brazilian readers who wanted to have an explanation about the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, of a detailed reconstruction related to the problems that had generated the fratricide fight between Spaniards. With that purpose, the author mentioned as the first reason of the chaos, the decomposition of the Spanish society caused by the French invasion in 1808. Thus, the foremost purpose here is to enlighten a text that, with success, prognosticated, in Brazil, that the conflict between the two Spains would only finish when one of the two parts could be able to exterminate the other, without any kind of mercy.

Quintela Pena,Ana María;
Revista Cubana de Investigaciones Biom??dicas , 1999,
Abstract: sixty blood samples from voluntary donors were studied. plasma endothelial cells were measured in these samples the same day of blood extraction and this count was repeated after the preservation of plasma at 40 ec for 24 h. significant differences were found (p < 0,001) between the number of counted cells in fresh plasma and that of the cold preserved plasma. once the original sample is observed on the microscople, the cell suspension is preserved under similar conditions and only the count is repeated after 24 h. similary, significant low values are found in the preserved samples (p < 0,05) therefore, this count must be made on the same day of blood extraction.
Sixty blood samples from voluntary donors were studied. Plasma endothelial cells were measured in these samples the same day of blood extraction and this count was repeated after the preservation of plasma at 40 EC for 24 h. Significant differences were found (p < 0,001) between the number of counted cells in fresh plasma and that of the cold preserved plasma.
