Antigenic analysis of grass carp reovirus using single-chain variable fragment antibody against IgM from Ctenopharyngodon idella

Abstract: Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) is an important species of freshwater aquaculture fish in China. However, grass carp reovirus (GCRV) can cause fatal hemorrhagic disease in yearling populations. Until now, a strategy to define the antigenic capacity of the virus’s structural proteins for preparing an effective vaccine has not been available. In this study, some single-chain variable fragment antibodies (scFv), which could specifically recognize grass carp IgM, were selected from a constructed mouse na ve antibody phage display cDNA library. The identified scFv C1B3 clone was shown to possess relatively higher specific binding activity to grass carp IgM. Furthermore, ELISA analysis indicated that the IgM level in serum from virus-infected grass carp was more than two times higher than that of the control group at 5–7 days post infection. Moreover, Western blot analysis demonstrated that the outer capsid protein VP7 has a specific immuno-binding-reaction with the serum IgM from virus-infected grass carp. Our results suggest that VP7 can induce a stronger immune response in grass carp than the other GCRV structural proteins, which implies that VP7 protein could be used as a preferred immunogen for vaccine design.

Abstract: The equilibrium equations of anisotropic media, coupled to the heat conduction equations, are studied here based on the standard spaces of the physical presentation, in which an new thermo-elastic model based on the second law of thermodynamics is induced. The uncoupled heat wave equation for anisotropic media is deduced. The results show that the equation of heat wave is of the properties of dissipative waves. In final part of this paper, we discuss the propagation behaviour of heat waves for transversely isotropic media.
A Second-Order Eigen Theory for Static Electromagnetic Fields  [PDF]

Abstract: The static electromagnetic fields are studied here based on the standard spaces of the physical presentation, and the modal equations of static electromagnetic fields for anisotropic media are deduced. By introducing a set of new potential functions of order 2, several novel theoretical results were obtained: The classical potential functions of order 1 can be expressed by the new potential functions of order 2, the electric or magnetic potentials are scalar for isotropic media, and vector for anisotropic media. The amplitude and direction of the vector potentials are related to the anisotropic subspaces. Based on these results, we discuss the laws of static electromagnetic fields for anisotropic media.

Abstract: The number of electronic commerce (e-commerce) transactions has grown extraordinarily with widespread Internet usage. The right to privacy is particularly important in e-commerce. Recently, the privacy protection for consumer transactions has become more and more important in e-commerce. This paper aims to develop the study on the legislation of e-commerce consumer rights protection. It is a comparative study on relevant regulations of the right to privacy in European Union, the United States, and Japan. The most representative policy might be the Data Protection Directive in the EU, which not only regulates the principle for e-commerce consumer right to privacy protection, but also lays out specific criteria to be abided. The current status and existing problems in China are also analyzed and some suggestions are made to improve the legal system of right to privacy. The paper identifies directions for the future development of the privacy protection from a legal perspective.

Abstract: In this paper, I systematically analyze the new Japanese Patent Law and make a comparative study on Chinese and Japanese Patent Law to shed a new light on the improvement of the legal system of intellectual property in China. To begin with, I review the historical development of Japanese Patent Law and the modern patent legal system in Japan. Next, the aim and contents of the latest revision of Japanese Patent Law are described. I also pay close attention to the issues remaining unresolved. Regarding the problems faced by Chinese Patent Law, I identify the lessons that China could learn from Japanese New Patent Law. Finally, I suggest that there are still some unresolved issues in Chinese Patent Law even after learning from the new Japanese Patent Law.

Abstract: Generally, the procedure for Solving Security constrained unit commitment (SCUC) problems within Lagrangian Relaxation framework is partitioned into two stages: one is to obtain feasible SCUC states; the other is to solve the economic dispatch of generation power among all the generating units. The core of the two stages is how to determine the feasibility of SCUC states. The existence of ramp rate constraints and security constraints increases the difficulty of obtaining an analytical necessary and sufficient condition for determining the quasi-feasibility of SCUC states at each scheduling time. However, a numerical necessary and sufficient numerical condition is proposed and proven rigorously based on Benders Decomposition Theorem. Testing numerical example shows the effectiveness and efficiency of the condition.

Abstract:

GeoData Web service is an important way to achieve the integration and sharing of heterogeneous geospatial data at present. However, due to the complexity of GeoData and no sematic supporting Webservice discovery, it is very hard for data users to accurately find the GeoData WebService they really want. In order to make it easy for users to quickly and accurately find the GeoData Web Service they want in semantic level, this article firstly, constructs MetaData Ontololy, and uses MetaData Ontology to describe the related semantic information for GeoData Web Service. Then it comes up with a new way of computing the degree of semantic similarity among concepts based on Ontology. Finally, it realizes the automatic discovery for GeoData Web Service based on semantic matching. The experiment result shows that the way in this article can dramatically improve the accuracy and intelligence of GeoData Web Service discovery.
