Towards Next Generation Internet Management: CNGI-CERNET2 Experiences

Abstract: Manageability is an important feature of next generation Internet; management and monitoring of IPv6-based networks are proving a big challenge. While leveraging current IPv4-based SNMP management scheme to IPv6 networks’ management need is necessary, it is more urgent to coin a new network management architecture to accommodate the scalability and extensibility requirements of next generation Internet management. The paper proposes a novel network management architecture, IMN (Internet Management Network), which creates an overlay network of management nodes. While each management node can perform management tasks autonomously and independently, it can finish more sophisticated management tasks by collaboratively invoking management operations or sharing information provided by other management nodes. P2P-based communication services are introduced in IMN to enable such collaboration. The paper presents a prototyping implementation based on the Web service related technology, as well as some of the key technologies, especially solutions to those issues arising from the management practice of CERNET2. Experiences of deployment of CERNET2 operation and lessons learned from the management practice are discussed. The association between serum levels of oxLDL-lgG and oxLDL-lgM autoantibody with adult acute myeloblastic leukaemia

Abstract: Forty three patients with AML and 52 normal controls were enrolled in this study in the Department of Hematology, Tumor Center of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from Feb. 2008 to Mar.2009. Serum lgG and lgM antibodies versus the oxLDL levels were evaluated by ELISA method. Data was analyzed by covariance and binary Logistic regression.Serum mean levels of oxLDL-lgG in patients (38.92 ± 21.1259 ug/ml) were significantly lower than in control subjects (78.88 ± 9.3705 ug/ml); Meanwhile, Serum mean levels of oxLDL-lgM in patients (20.53 ± 10.2990 IU/L) were significantly higher than in control subjects (10.29 ± 10.5771 IU/L). Binary logistic regression showed the odds ratios of association of oxLD-lgG and oxLD-lgM with adult AML were 0.72(95%CI: 0.55-0.94) and 1.11(95%CI: 1.01-1.21) respectively after adjusted for potential confounders.In the preliminary investigation we found a descensive oxLDL- lgG and an elevated oxLDL-lgM serum levels for the adult AML. Future studies need to confirm the hypothesis whether they related to the development and progression of adult AML.More than two decades ago, epidemiological studies showed a U-shaped relationship between total cholesterol (TC) levels and risk of all-cause mortality. Abstract: City is a social-economic-natural complex ecosystem. In this paper,according to the level of the relationships between material flow, energy flow and information flow, also by taking their properties as indexes, Changchun city was divided into 48 land ecotypes and 8 land ecoregion in light of the features of their associations, Each ecoregion has its own characteristics, and the ecoproblems are defferent. On the basis of imitateng the type of nature, each land ecoregion was designed following the principle of making concordant relationship beween human and nature. In the end, we should build up an ideal city which would be in conformity with the human benefits as well as the organization principle of the biosphere.
Present situation and tendency of saline-alkali soil in west Jilin Province

Abstract: Taking west Jilin Province as an example, this paper put forward the assessment index of salinization, and based on it, the authors present the distribution characteristics of saline-alkali soil in the 1980s and the 1990s in west Jilin and analyze its physical and chemical properties in detail. The developing tendency of salinization was also inferred by comparing the saline-alkali soil of the 1980s with that of the 1990s. Finally, the natural and human factors leading to salinization are analyzed.
Study on Adulterate Sodium Silica Apatite Cement Porous Scaffolds for Bone Defect Repair

Abstract: Adulterate sodium silicon apatite cement (s―AC) porous scaffolds for bone repair were prepared by using the mixed powders of tetracalcium phosphate and dicalcium phosphate anhydrous, 5wt% sodium silicate water― solution as cement liquid, and NaCl particles as progens. The result shows that the composition of the s―AC scaffolds is sodium silicon apatite. The macroporous sizes of the scaffolds were in the range from 200 μm to 600 μm, the porosity of the scaffolds is from 58% to 75%, and the macropores were interconnected with each other. The compressive strength of the s―AC scaffolds is from 1.6MPa to 3.8MPa, and the degradability of sodium silicon doped s―AC scaffolds improves significantly as compared with AC in Tris―HCl solution. When the s―AC scaffolds are implanted in femur bone defect of rabbits, the histological analysis results show that the new bone tissue is formed on the surfaces and ingrew into the interior of the scaffolds, the well interconnected macropores promoted the bone tissue ingrowth into the scaffolds. In conclusion, the s―AC scaffolds exhibit good biocompatibility, degradability and osteogenesis in vivo, which will be a good biomaterial for bone repair.

Abstract: The Kirchhoff index of a connected graph is the sum of resistance distances between all unordered pairs of vertices in the graph. Its considerable applications are found in a variety of fields. In this paper, we determine the maximum value of Kirchhoff index among the unicyclic graphs with fixed number of vertices and maximum degree, and characterize the corresponding extremal graph.
Association of genetic polymorphisms of aldehyde dehydrogenase-2 with esophageal squamous cell dysplasia

Abstract: AIM: To demonstrate the possible associations between genetic polymorphisms of aldehyde dehydrogenase-2 (ALDH2) and esophageal squamous cell dysplasia (ESCD).METHODS: All participants came from an area of high incidence of esophageal cancer and underwent an endoscopic staining examination; biopsies were taken from a non-staining area of the mucosa and diagnosed by histopathology. Based on the examinations, the subjects were divided into the control group with normal esophageal squamous epithelial cells and the ESCD group. ALDH2 genotypes of 396 cases were determined including 184 ESCD cases and 212 controls. The odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were calculated by binary logistic regression models.RESULTS: The distribution of ALDH2 genotypes showed significant differences between the two groups. The adjustment factors were gender and age in the logistic regression models. Compared with 2*2/2*2 genotype, 2*1/2*1 genotype was found to be a risk factor for ESCD, and the OR (95% CI) was 4.50 (2.21-9.19). There were significant correlations between ALDH2 genotypes and alcohol drinking/smoking/history of esophageal cancer.CONCLUSION: The ALDH2 polymorphism is significantly associated with ESCD.
A Comparative Reading of Sejanus and Cato  [PDF]

Abstract: It seems that William Shakespeare’s Macbeth bears more similarities to Ben Jonson’s Sejanus. However, the two tragedies are even more different than Joseph Addison’s Cato and Jonson’s Sejanus as in Macbeth witchcraft and violent murder are involved. And Macbeth’s wife is even more vicious than the protagonist. Undeniably, there are more differences between Ben Jonson’s Sejanus and Joseph Addison’s Cato. The themes are different as Jonson’s Sejanus focuses on the protagonist’s conspiracy to the emperor Tiberius while Addison’s Cato praises the hero’s nobility and wisdom, though both die in the end of the tragedies. Triangular love is woven and being one of the main themes in Cato while adultery takes a small portion in Sejanus. Despite of the differences in these two tragedies, and the fact that the two dramatists belong to different eras, there are five main similarities between them: both tragedies being entitled with their protagonists’ names and setting in the ancient Rome, traitor ministers and conspiracy taking great proportion in the plots, the falls of the traitors in both tragedies, and the conflicts between the noble and evil parties. One can hardly fail to observe the judgments of the heroes by the characters within the tragedies. These similarities between the themes and structures of the plots lead to the similarities between the portrayals of the characters. Both Sejanus and Cato are heroic plays and political tragedies of Rome. The textual comparison between these two tragedies reveals an obvious influence of Jonson to Addison, who is also creative and develops this type of tragedy with the plot of triangular love.
Organizational Justice as Mediator of the Discretionary Human Resource Practice-Organizational Citizenship Behavior Relationship: Evidence from Enterprises in China  [PDF]

Abstract: Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) is one kind of extra-role behavior beyond formal role descriptions which can be conducted to enforce company’s competency to copy with external competitive pressures as well as internal flat organizational hierarchies. This research builds a mediating model to examine the mediating effects of organizational justice between discretionary human resource practice (HRP) and organizational citizenship behavior based on the social exchange theory and the organizational justice theory. The research illustrates how the different dimensions of discretionary HRP affects employee’s OCB through organizational justice. It statistically tests the data form 227 employees in 10 enterprises with correlation analysis, structural equation modeling and other statistical methods. The results show that all the selective staffing, promotional opportunities, performance management and participate decision making in the discretionary HRP have positive impacts on the OCB. Besides, it indicates that organizational justice mediates the relationship between discretionary HRP and OCB. Thus, organization can promote employee’s OCB through enforcing its discretionary HRP as well as enhancing perceived organizational justice. The exposure of the relationships between discretionary HRM practice, organizational justice and OCB is beneficial to build sustainable HRM system and help enterprises to establish sustainable competitive competence.
Dielectric Properties of Binary Solvent Mixtures of Dimethyl Sulfoxide with Water

Abstract: In this paper, the dielectric properties of water-dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) mixtures with different mole ratios have been investigated in the range of 1 GHz to 40 GHz at 298 K by using a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. Only one dielectric loss peak was observed in the frequency range and the relaxation in these mixtures can be described by a single relaxation time of the Davidson-Cole. It was observed that within experimental error the dielectric relaxation can be described by the Debye-like model (β ≈ 1, S.M. Puranik, et al. J. Chem. Soc. Faraday Trans.1992, 88, 433 - 435). In general, the results are very consistent with the experimental measurements.
