Average Power Function of Noise and Its Applications in Seasonal Time Series Modeling and Forecasting  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper presents a new method of detecting multi-periodicities in a seasonal time series. Conventional methods such as the average power spectrum or the autocorrelation function plot have been used in detecting multiple periodicities. However, there are numerous cases where those methods either fail, or lead to incorrectly detected periods. This, in turn in applications, produces improper models and results in larger forecasting errors. There is a strong need for a new approach to detecting multi-periodicities. This paper tends to fill this gap by proposing a new method which relies on a mathematical instrument, called the Average Power Function of Noise (APFN) of a time series. APFN has a prominent property that it has a strict local minimum at each period of the time series. This characteristic helps one in detecting periods in time series. Unlike the power spectrum method where it is assumed that the time series is composed of sinusoidal functions of different frequencies, in APFN it is assumed that the time series is periodic, the unique and a much weaker assumption. Therefore, this new instrument is expected to be more powerful in multi-periodicity detection than both the autocorrelation function plot and the average power spectrum. Properties of APFN and applications of the new method in periodicity detection and in forecasting are presented.

Abstract:

In design science, these two kinds of problems are mutually nested, however, the nesting could not blind us for the fact that their problem-solving and solution justification methods are different. The ant algorithms research field, builds on the idea that the study of the behavior of ant colonies or other social insects is interesting, because it provides models of distributed organization which could be utilized as a source of inspiration for the design of optimization and distributed control algorithms. In this paper, a relatively new type of hybridizing ant search algorithm is developed, and the results are compared against other algorithms. The intelligence of this heuristic approach is not portrayed by individual ants, but rather is expressed by the colony as a whole inspired by labor division and brood sorting. This solution obtained by this method will be evaluated against the one obtained by other traditional heuristics.

Abstract: In this paper, Hopfield neural networks with impulse and leakage time-varying delay are considered. New sufficient conditions for global asymptotical stability of the equilibrium point are derived by using Lyapunov-Kravsovskii functional, model transformation and some analysis techniques. The criterion of stability depends on the impulse and the bounds of the leakage time-varying delay and its derivative, and is presented in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI).

Abstract: In recent years, tourism has become an important part of China’s emerging services industry, and is regarded as the “sunrise industry” of the 21st century. Relevant data from China National Tourism Administration show that the number of domestic tourists in China reached 5 billion times in 2017, and the total number of inbound and outbound tourists in China reached 270 million. The annual domestic tourism revenue reached 4.57 trillion Yuan and the international tourism revenue reached $123.4 billion. According to the preliminary calculation of China National Tourism Administration, the comprehensive contribution of tourism to China’s GDP in 2017 has reached 9.13 trillion Yuan, and tourism brings the employment population to 79.9 million. With the continuous development of society, the role of tourism in promoting national economic development will become increasingly prominent. Guangdong province is located at the southernmost point of mainland China, with a long history and rich natural and cultural tourism resources. 2018 is the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up. As the forefront of China’s reform and opening up, Guangdong province is an important tourist reception center and tourism center in China, and the tourism industry has always been in the leading position in China. For years, Guangdong province ranked first among China’s provincial economic rankings. The rapid development of tourism in Guangdong province plays an important role in the economic development of Guangdong province. This paper studies the tax contribution of tourism in Guangdong province by combining the relevant data of macro tax burden (tax rate). The study consists of three perspectives. First, Guangdong province is compared with Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang provinces. Second, the comparison of eastern China. Third, Guangdong province is compared with the national average. Based on the research, this paper concludes that tourism tax contribution of Guangdong province is low. This paper studies the tax contribution of tourism in Guangdong province and puts forward some suggestions to improve the tax contribution of tourism in Guangdong province.

Abstract:
This study explores the impact mechanism of information sharing level on inter-firm value co-creation. The author introduces the concept of inter-firm value co-creation as a dependent variable and sets the information sharing level as an independent variable. Among them, the information sharing level is divided into two measurement dimensions: information technology level and information exchange level. At the same time, synergy effect is included as an intermediary variable. It is predicted that the information sharing level will have a positive impact on inter-firm value co-creation, and the synergy effect will play a role as mediator.

Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) represent a new class of materials possessing high selectivity and affinity for the target molecule. They have been utilized as sensors, catalysts, sorbents for solid-phase extraction, stationary phase for liquid chromatography, mimics of enzymes, receptors, and antibodies. In this research, molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) for luteolin were prepared using acrylamide, 4-vinylpyridine and 1-allyl-piperazine as functional monomers and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linker by non-covalent imprinting method. UV-visible spectra were used to evaluate the interaction strength between the template and the monomers. The composites of the polymers were calculated from elementary analysis. The porous properties of the imprinted polymers have been determined from nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms. The imprinting efficiency of the prepared MIPs was evaluated by selective adsorption for luteolin and its structural analogues. Although the interaction strength of monomers to the template was in the order 1-ALPP > 4-VP > AA, the binding affinity of the imprinted polymers towards luteolin was in the order MIP 2 > MIP 3 > MIP 1. Our results demonstrated that the imprinting efficiency was depending not only on the interaction strength between the template and the monomer, but also on the fidelity in transferring the complex into the polymer.
Evaluation of Fatigue Life of Semiconductor Power Device by Power Cycle Test and Thermal Cycle Test Using Finite Element Analysis  [PDF]

Abstract: To accurately predict the fatigue life of a power device, a fatigue life evaluation method that is based on the power cycle is presented in terms of an algorithm based on a combination of electrical analysis, heat analysis, and stress analysis. In literature, the fatigue life of power devices has been evaluated on the basis of the thermal cycle. This cycle is alternately repeated within a range from a high temperature to a low temperature. In an actual operating environment, however, a power device works in a power cycle that consists of being switched ON and OFF. To accurately predict the fatigue life cycle of a device, then, the evaluation should take account of this important aspect of the power cycle. To verify the utility of the evaluation method presented in this study, the results for a power cycle based on the combined use of electrical analysis, heat analysis, and stress analysis are compared to the results based on the thermal cycle, as found in the literature. Our conclusion is that the fatigue life cycle as estimated by the thermal cycle test is higher than that estimated by the power cycle.

Abstract: The scientific and reasonable performance evaluation is advantageous to promote the comprehensive management level of engineering projects. Benefited from constrictive and fluctuant of wavelet transform and self-study, self-adjustment and nonlinear mapping functions of wavelet neural network (WNN), and based on the existing assessment method and the index system, the performance evaluation model of engineering project management is established. One company is taken as the study object for this model. Compared with the conventional method, the influence of human factor is eliminated, thus the objectivity of the measure results is increased. A satisfactory result is concluded, thus a new ap-proach is presented for engineering project management performance evaluation.
Preparation for Graphite Materials and Study on Electrochemical Degradation of Phenol by Graphite Cathodes  [PDF]

Abstract: Nanographite flake through ultrasound dispersing expanded graphite which got by chemical oxidation and microwave puffing method have been prepared by natural flake graphite. The microstructures of natural flake graphite, expanded graphite and nanographite sheets were characterized by means of SEM, XRD, FTIR and Raman; the cathodes were made by NG, EG and nanographite, respectively; the electrolysis phenol was conducted by the diaphragm cell prepared cathode and the Ti/RuO2 anode. The results showed that the thickness of graphite flake was 18 nm, and the grain size and particle size decreased compared with the NG and EG; Nano-G showed the best electrochemical properties; in the diaphragm electrolysis system with the aeration conditions, the degradation rate of phenol reached 89.5% COD reached 81.3% under 120 min’s electrolysis, which was far above the degradation rate of phenol of EG cathode and NG cathode.
