Modified Tournament Model Based on Perceived Wage  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, we combine the relative satisfaction and relative deprivation stemmed from wage comparison to form the relative perception as the integrated influence factor on the individual’s utility function, which is the most different point from the former tournament theory studies. We introduce the relative perception into the tournament model and then analyze the Nash Equilibrium of the output competition game based on this modified model. Consequently, some new findings are obtained. Firstly, we find the relative perception could affect the utility of workers as similar as what the wage dispersion does. What’s more, the income-utility sensitivity can also affect the decision of workers to choose the effort level. According to what is found in this study, the subjective perception should be paid enough attention to since it could affect the worker both in utility and consequent action. Besides, the wage policy should design properly and the differences in subjective sensitivity to relative perception or the proportion of income or perception among workers should be taken into account when the wage strategy is made.
A Safety Relay Selection Method Based on Network Coding  [PDF]

Abstract:
A method of cooperative relay selection based on network coding security is proposed for relay selection problem of cooperative communication system security in networked multi-relay scenarios, which is different from the existing relay node selection method. The algorithm not only merged with timestamp and homomorphic signature to construct the node degree of safety to find reliable relay, at the same time to considers the received signal to noise ratio at all relay nodes value and the channel gain to the source node. The simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the achievable rate of the destination node and reduce the outage probability on the basis of guaranteeing the safety of the relay node.

Abstract:

In this paper we discuss the importance sampling Monte Carlo methods for pricing options. The classical importance sampling method is used to eliminate the variance caused by the linear part of the logarithmic function of payoff. The variance caused by the quadratic part is reduced by stratified sampling. We eliminate both kinds of variances just by importance sampling. The corresponding space for the eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix of the logarithmic function of payoff is enlarged. Computational Simulation shows the high efficiency of the new method.

Abstract: Industrial biotechnology has not developed as fast as expected due to some challenges including the emergences of alternative energy sources, especially shale gas, natural gas hydrate (or gas hydrate) and sand oil et al. The weaknesses of microbial or enzymatic processes compared with the chemical processing also make industrial biotech products less competitive with the chemical ones. However, many opportunities are still there if industrial biotech processes can be as similar as the chemical ones. Taking advantages of the molecular biology and synthetic biology methods as well as changing process patterns, we can develop bioprocesses as competitive as chemical ones, these including the minimized cells, open and continuous fermentation processes et al.
Image Resolution Enhancement Using PCA Based Post Filtering

Abstract: In this study an image resolution enhancement method is presented that uses the NEDI method to generate an initial image. To increase the detail of this initial image, the given low resolution image is fused with it to achieve a new image. Then the final high resolution image is obtained by using a PCA based filtering to reduce the distortion of this new image. Experimental results on test images demonstrate that the proposed method provides competitive performance.
Effect of Heat Treatment on Mechanical Properties and High Temperature Properties of Extruded MgSnSiSr Alloy

Abstract: In order to give a suitable heat treatment technique for as-ext ruded Mg-5Sn-2Si-2Sr alloy, the microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-extruded alloy after T4, T5, T6 heat treatm ent were investigated by means of hardness tester, the X-ray diffraction, the tensile tester and the optical microscopy. The results show that the T5 treatment is appropriate for the as-ex truded Mg-5Sn-2Si-2Sr alloy because a large amount of precipitated phases are observed on the grain boundary. The yield and tensile strengths for the alloy treated by T5 tech nique are 210.9 MPa and 257.0 MPa, respectivel y, which is higher than the alloy treated by other technique. The mechanical property is decreased after T4 treatment because the effect of softening annealing is much stronger than solid solution strengthening. The mechanical proper ties can not be improved after T6 treatment due to the increase of the second phase size and the grain growth.
Tire Defect Detection Using Image Component Decomposition

Abstract: This study presents a component decomposition based method for fast tire defect detection, which is motivated by the fact that defective tire images mainly consist of three components: texture, background and defect. Thus the proposed method exploits three steps to separate the defect component from the defective image. At the first step, the local total variation filtering is used to extract the texture. Then the background is estimated by the vertical mean filtering. Finally, the defect is detected by thresholding the residual image. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more accurate in locating the defects.
Off-diagonal geometric phase of atom-electron coupling in hydrogen atom

Abstract: In this paper, the off-diagonal geometric phase of thermal state in hydrogen atom under the effects of external magnetic field is considered. Increasing temperature tends to suppress the off-diagonal geometric phase, including 1-order and 2-order cases. On the other hand, the relationship between the geometric phase and external magnetic field is discussed.
