Abstract: this paper presents the design of a fuzzy control system applied to a multivariable nonlinear process and the state of art of fuzzy control applications in the industrial environment. the paper is divided in two parts. initially the fuzzy control design is assessed on a horizontal balance process, a prototype in laboratory scale, with two propellers driven by two dc motors. an overview of design aspects and characteristics of industrial applications of fuzzy controllers is also included.
Control Charts for Variables with Specified Process Capability Indices

Abstract: Control charts, also known as Shewhart charts in statistical process control are the statistical tools used to determine whether a manufacturing process is in a state of statistical control or not. If analysis of the control chart indicates that the process is currently under statistical control (i.e. is stable, with variation only coming from sources common to the process) then no corrections or changes to process control parameters are needed or desirable. In addition, data from the controlled process can be used to predict the future performance of the process with the help of process capability indices. That is, the suitability and the performance of the manufacturing process are assessed in two stage processes namely control charts and process capability indices. This paper deals with the techniques namely, capability based control charts which combines the two stage processes into a single stage process in industrial applications for on line process control. The relative performance of the capability based control charts for variables is assessed with that of existing usual control charts for variables, namely . It is observed that the proposed method is simple to apply and does not warrant any tedious computations both for control charts and for computing process capability indices. For the sake of convenience we have presented the control charts constants for constructing capability based. The proposed method is also illustrated with the help of a numerical example.

Abstract: Embedded Systems used for control of the process plants can be classified as safety critical embedded systems. To achieve the specified probability failure on demand, it is essential to customize the relevant IEEE standards. Since the requirement specifications will be well specified for process control applications, it is appropriate to follow the waterfall product development cycle. Enough thoughts are not given for Verification and Validation of embedded systems. Verification and Validation process for safety critical embedded system and the challenges for Verification and Validation team are detailed in this study.
Control Signal Solving Model and Algorithm of Dynamic System Based on Process Neural Network

Abstract: Aiming at the control problem of nonlinear dynamic system, a control signal solving model and algorithm based on Process Neural Network (PNN) was proposed. First, a system forward identification model based on PNN was set up by using nonlinear transform mechanism and self-adaptive learning ability of PNN to timcvarying input output signals of dynamic system, then according to the established model, the system control structure and the expected output signals, a control signal solving model and algorithm which satisfies system dynamic signal transform mechanism and transfer constraint relation was constructed. The information processing mechanism based on PNN control model was analyzed and the control signal optimize method based on GA coupled with LMS was given The experiment results veri-fy the feasibility of the model and algorithm.

Abstract: Statistical process control (spc), as one of the quality devices, can be help manufacturers improve the quality of their products in today’s competitive world. This research examines the statistical method of wire-cut electric discharge machining (WEDM) process of the turbine blade airfoil tip for control and consistency of the process. For this purpose, the standard deviation control chart, S, and the average data, , which are applied for identifying the acquired factors, have been used. Next, regarding the plan features, the manufacturing process is assessed to determine whether the products meet quality and the customer requirements or not. Therefore, the coefficients Cpk is applied which indicate the capability of the manufacturing process. Then, in order to produce high quality blades within the tolerance range, the capability of WEDM machine is examined, using coefficients CM. Finally, it is shown that in order to produce the desired product, the process can be controlled and fixed by using the statistical process control devices and inspecting the standard deviation of data and investigation of capability of process and machine.

Abstract: porous carbons have received great attention because of their potential use as adsorbents, sensors, catalytic supports and others. among the available methods for preparing these solids, the sequential templating emerges as an efficient way to tail carbon materials, with large specific surface areas, high porosity, controlled narrow pore size distribution and different functional groups. the template process is based on the infiltration of carbon precursors into the pores of inorganic frameworks. this work reviews the most important variables involved in the sequential template process to prepare micro, meso and macroporous carbon with tailored properties as well as their applications.

Abstract: A multilayered control design approach is proposed here. Starting with the Dissolved Oxygen (DO) control loop in the last aerated tank, the control of the recirculation sludge is added next. Once the limitations of this two-loop control strategy are highlighted, a cascade control loop is proposed. This cascade control is further enhanced by a feed-forward control action that makes use of influent ammonia concentration. The resulting cascade+feedforward control configuration achieves satisfactory nitrogen removal for the three influent operating conditions (dry, rain and storm.)

A Comparison of Strategies for the Control of a Polypropene Reactor

Abstract: Several controller structures for a polypropene reactor system are evaluated, and it is shown that the present controller structure with retuned controller parameters yields very good performance with regards to set point tracking, and suppression of disturbances and model uncertainty. Multivariable LQG control with integral action shows even better results, and would have given excellent performance without some observed limitation in the estimator.
Security Assessment of Web Based Distributed Applications

Abstract: This paper presents an overview about the evaluation of risks and vulnerabilities in a web based distributed application by emphasizing aspects concerning the process of security assessment with regards to the audit field. In the audit process, an important activity is dedicated to the measurement of the characteristics taken into consideration for evaluation. From this point of view, the quality of the audit process depends on the quality of assessment methods and techniques. By doing a review of the fields involved in the research process, the approach wants to reflect the main concerns that address the web based distributed applications using exploratory research techniques. The results show that many are the aspects which must carefully be worked with, across a distributed system and they can be revealed by doing a depth introspective analyze upon the information flow and internal processes that are part of the system. This paper reveals the limitations of a non-existing unified security risk assessment model that could prevent such risks and vulnerabilities debated. Based on such standardize models, secure web based distributed applications can be easily audited and many vulnerabilities which can appear due to the lack of access to information can be avoided.
