Abstract: this article considers a procedure for data collection called autoscopy. autoscopy entails the video recording of a practice with the purpose of allowing analysis and self-evaluation by one of the protagonists of that practice. the objective of the video recording is that of apprehending the actions of the agent (or agents), the scenario, and the plot that make up a situation. the recorded material is subjected to sessions of analysis after the action that aim at the understanding of the reflective process of the agent (or agents) through their verbalizations during the analysis of video recorded scenes. the present text introduces a theoretical basis for the procedure of autoscopy, deals with advantages and limitations of its use, as well as with aspects that deserve attention and, finally, describes the authors' experiences in two studies in which the procedure was employed. starting from these two experiences, differences and similarities are pointed out between the studies, especially regarding the participants, object, and the time distribution of the video recordings. the authors draw considerations about the formative-reflective potential of the procedure, both for research situations and for the learning and training of various professionals, considering it to be an excellent educational instrument. it is, however, vital to keep in mind the need to recognize and return to the teacher, as an autoscopic participant, his condition as subject of his own profession, thereby promoting, besides the self-evaluation, also the autonomy of his thinking and doing.

Application of the Cross Wavelet Transform to Solar Activity and Major Earthquakes Occurred in Chile  [PDF]
Patricia Alejandra Larocca
International Journal of Geosciences (IJG) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ijg.2016.711095
Abstract: Historical earthquakes registered in Chile (from 1900 up to 2015) with epicenters located between 17?30'S and 56?0'S latitude and yearly mean total sunspot number have been considered in order to evaluate a significant linkage between them. The occurrence of strong earthquakes along Chile and the sunspots activity are analyzed to inspect possible influence of solar cycles on earthquakes. The cross wavelet transform and wavelet coherence analysis were applied for sequences of sunspots and earthquakes activity. An 8 - 12 years modulation of earthquakes activity has been identified.
Giuseppina Larocca
Enthymema , 2010, DOI: 10.6092/2037-2426/775
Abstract: Il brano che presentiamo in traduzione è tratto dall’articolo M. M. Bachtin, Nevel’skaja kola filosofii i kul’turnaja istorija ’20-ch gg.
Skare, Thelma Larocca;
Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0365-05962011000300032
Abstract: prothrombotic phenomena are described in leg ulcers of different etiologies. this work attempts to verify the prevalence of anticardiolipin antibodies in such patients. for this purpose, 151 patients with leg ulcers and 150 control patients were studied and it was obtained clinical data and anticardiolipin antibodies titers. anticardiolipin antibodies were detected in 7,2 % of the patients from the ulcer group against 1.3% of the patients in the control group (p=0.01). however, clinical characteristics were not different in patients with and without anticardiopilin antibodies
Filipiak,Y.; Larocca,C.;
Archivos de Zootecnia , 2012, DOI: 10.4321/S0004-05922012000200017
Abstract: the supravital stain with tripan blue (at) was used for differentiating live bovine immature oocytes from dead ones. it is important to know the viability of the oocytes, in order to discard the dead ones before the in vitro fertilization (fiv). smaller than 6 mm follicles were punctured, from ovaries obtained from an abattoir. the cumulus oocyte complexes (coc) were classified as a, b or c. only those of quality a or b were taken into account. two categories were formed (autumnwinter and spring-summer) and 4 groups within each category were considered: a control group (cg), which was not stained with at and three groups: g1, g2 and g3 stained with at for 2, 5 and 10 minutes, respectively. blue stained coc (dead) were discarded, live coc were cultured for 22 h in a maturation culture and were stained again, maintaining the same exposure times. insemination was then performed and compact morules counted, in order to evaluate the efect of at and season. in conclusion, at stain can be used up to 10 minutes to differentiate live and dead oocytes, without any deleterious effect on the gametes.
