Analysis of Mercurial Preservatives in Different Vaccines by Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry
Pranvera Lazo,Merita Kucuku
Journal of Analytical Science & Technology , 2012,
Abstract: Vaccines with low concentration of mercurial preservatives, such as thiomersal, are in use in Albania. A simple and a sensitive method by using CVAAS method for the determination of mercury in vaccine samples is described. This method is based on a digestion procedure that transforms organic mercury to Hg2+. Digestion is a critical step to destroy microorganism that could combine with Hg2+ and metabolize into ethyl mercury, thus preventing the mercury determination via CVAAS method. Negative chemical interferences were observed, after acid digestion of vaccine samples by obtaining low repeatability of the results. The method was improved by using heating (80℃-90℃), UV radiation and digestion with strong oxidants and acids to transform organic mercury into Hg2+ for CVAAS determination. The accuracy of the analysis was checked by recovery of the spikes which was in the range of 98-102%. The method yielded reproducible results with RSD<5.5%.

Pranvera Dhima, Floran Vila
Journal of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering (MSCE) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/msce.2017.512004
Abstract: In this paper we determine for the first time the volume conductivity of polyethylene (of 40 μm and 50 μm thickness), using the positive corona triode. A general theory of flowing of the current through the sample, when it depends linearly on the grid potential, is formulated. A concrete methodology for the definition of volume conductivity is composed. The volume conductivity of polyethylene lies within the interval: \"\". These results obtained using the corona triode are closely similar to those obtained using the standardized “static” methods, thus showing its superiority to the “dynamic” method of electronic radiation.

Advances in Materials Physics and Chemistry (AMPC) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ampc.2018.86019
Abstract: In this paper is determined the volume conductivity of thin polymeric films using the corona triode method, when the current through the sample exhibits a quadratic dependence on the grid potential. Based on the experimental data, for the first time, an effective methodology for the determination of volume conductivity, graphically and analytically, is composed. The results obtained by the proposed analytical formula, for polypropylene and Trespaphan, with two different configurations of structures, are closely similar to the graphical method results. In addition, the satisfying accordance of our results, with the results, found out with the consulted literature, obtained by the “static” methods, confirms the accuracy of the proposed methodology, for the determination of volume conductivity of thin polymeric films, using the corona triode.
Effect of Polarity on Volume Conductivity of Polymers, Determined by Corona Triode Method  [PDF]
Pranvera Dhima, Floran Vila
Advances in Materials Physics and Chemistry (AMPC) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ampc.2018.810026
Abstract:
In this paper, the effect of polarity on the volume conductivity of Kapton and polyethylene (PE), determined using the corona triode method, when the sample current depends linearly on grid potential, was studied. For the determination of volume conductivity, in addition to the analytical method, for the first time, a graphical method is presented as well. According to the experimental results, obtained by both methods, the volume conductivity values of negative corona charged samples were higher than those of the samples charged by positive corona. Considering the different nature of positive and negative coronas, these differences in results are to be expected and are in full accordance with the theoretical considerations as well. On the other hand, the good agreement between the analytical method results and those obtained by the graphical method, indicates high accuracy of the proposed analytical formula. Meanwhile, the satisfying accordance of experimental results with those found by the classical “static” and “dynamic” methods, confirms the accuracy of the corona method, for the determination of volume conductivity of polymers.
ENVIRONMENTAL MARKET FAILURE AND GLOBALIZATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Scientific Annals of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi : Economic Sciences Series , 2011,
Abstract: This paper presents an international view of sustainable development. The paper aims to provide an analysis on the link between openness to trade and economic growth and market failure like externalities. It focuses on the globalization process as the main factor for environmental problems. Albanian economy is exposed to a global economy and after twenty long years is still behind its Balkan neighbor. Albania is making the difficult transition to a more modern open-market economy. International trade has been a major driver of global growth and prosperity over the last century. The empirical literature has taken one of two advantage points. The first one is to analyze the correlation between openness and growth in data sets that cover a large section of developing and developed countries, in the tradition of cross country growth empirics. The second one is to concentrate on country or region-level analytical case studies of economic growth. We believe that this framework will contribute to understand why certain developing countries have made progress, while others have not. Progress has been very impressive for a number of developing countries in Southeast Europe, but progress has been less rapid for other countries like Albania. As a nation we have to think about what future research opportunities exist for us. The scale and scope of future research is an issue that affects our entire society and the next generation. The government has a general role in supporting this discussion, by setting up a dialogue with the community.
GENERACIóN DE BANDAS DE FRECUENCIAS PERMITIDAS EN LíNEAS DE TRANSMISIóN DUAL CON CORRELACIóN DE LARGO ALCANCE EN EL DESORDEN
Lazo,Edmundo;
Ingeniare. Revista chilena de ingeniería , 2008, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-33052008000300007
Abstract: in this work we study the behavior of the allowed frequencies in the dual transmission line when the values of capacitances are distributed according to a disordered sequence with long-range correlation. for each frequency ω we use the lyapunov exponent λ(ω) as a tool to discriminate between a transmitting line and a filtering one. when the dual line has a periodic distribution of capacitances, a typical scheme of permitted bands and forbidden bands (gaps) appears. for the random case every signal is filtered. in this article we analyze the effect of long-range correlation, concluding that two cases can appear, depending on the kind of correlation used: a) there exist only a finite number of specific frequencies for which the signal is propagated, or b) there is a continuous band of propagating frequencies. the appearing of continuous bands is a very important result, since the existence of correlated disorder is a condition necessary but not sufficient to the appearing of propagating frequencies. understanding the mechanisms that describe the transition from a forbidden frequency to an allowed frequency opens the possibility of manufacturing electronic devices where this transition is relevant.
El Pretendido Efecto Retroactivo de la Condición Cumplida
Lazo,Patricio;
Revista chilena de derecho , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-34372006000300006
Abstract: the topic of this article is the study of roman sources of law, to the extent that they determine whether the condition which has been fulfilled could have had, or no, a retroactive effect, since some of those sources answer ?yes, there was such a retroactive effect?, while others simply deny it. in examining those texts, the author assumes the methodological premise according to which roman jurists were used to review the cases as decided by earlier jurists, in order, either to confirm the old jurisprudence, or to establish new and varying solutions to the problems. in that perspective, the content of several fragments which refer to the same problems are analyzed so that internal connections between each of them can be uncovered and the true scope of the fragments which say the condition is retroactive can be determined.

Abstract: the study is based on an exegesis of two passages of the digest containing assumptions that are similar in many ways and are referred to the liability of the businessman whose employee has carried out shipping businesses. the study is aimed at rebuilding the thinking of the classic jurists authoring the aforementioned passages as well as their predecessors, also aiming at delimiting the scope of the de peculio and tributoria actions and clarifying the use of the notions of actio exemplo tributoriae and actio cuasi tributoria. finally, the concepts of voluntas y silentia and their dogmatic value are analyzed.
Emprendimiento en Roma antigua: de la política al derecho
Lazo,Patricio;
Revista de derecho (Valparaíso) , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-68512009000200018
Abstract: the roman entrepreneurship is analysed from the perspective of the relationships among economics, politics, and law. the author describes some basic aspects of these relationships in roman history, such as the recognised connection between the punic wars and exchange activities, the situation of internal roman politics, and the connection between the development of the trade and its impact on aspects of the legal language and the origination of protection mechanisms, as legal actions. on this last point, the author studies in depth the hypothesis of the origin of actiones adiecticiae qualitatis and, specifically, the actio quod iiussu in the context of the needs of the economic activity in rome.
Contribución al estudio de la "actio quod iussu"
Lazo,Patricio;
Revista de estudios histórico-jurídicos , 2010, DOI: 10.4067/S0716-54552010000100003
Abstract: the article offers a reconstruction of the actio quod iussu, and explains its importance to the development of economic activities, mainly commercial, based on a critical examination of the previous reconstruction proposals made by otto lenel and adolf rudorff. special investigation is dedicated to the iussum, basic foundation for the concession of the action. in relation to this, two problems are investigated, which are: the beneficiary of the iussum and the interpretation of its sense and effects on tab. pomp. 7, issue which links the actio quod iussu to the development tools of roman commerce.
