Abstract: Esthetics with porcelain fused to metal restoration in the anterior region can be adversely affected due to the inadequate teeth preparations and design of the prosthesis. We presented here a case report where esthetics was compromised due to darkening of the interdental papilla and marginal gingival and overcontoured restorations in relation to porcelain fused to metal restorations. Good esthetic results were obtained by using basic principles of tooth preparation and using collarless metal ceramic restorations.

Abstract: Background: Teeth when subjected to bleaching bring about the desiccation of the enamel, making it more susceptible to stain absorption. While subjecting the freshly bleached enamel surface to various surface treatments of Fluoride and Casein Phosphopeptide - Amorphous Calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) brought about the reduction in stain absorption, which is assessed in this study. Aims: The study aims to evaluate the tea stain absorption on freshly bleached enamel surface of extracted human teeth with varied surface treatment. The stain absorption was evaluated at the end of one hour and 24 hours post bleaching. Materials and Methods: Forty extracted human permanent maxillary central incisors were subjected to bleaching with 10% carbamide peroxide for eight days. They were divided into four groups of 10 each. Group I was control group. Group II was immersed in tea solution without surface treatment, while Group III and IV were immersed in tea solution with surface treatment of topical Fluoride and CPP-ACP respectively. Spectrophotometer was used for color analysis. Results: Surface treatment with CPP-ACP and topical fluoride on freshly beached enamel surface, significantly reduced the stain absorption. Conclusion: Remineralizing agents reduce stain absorption after tooth bleaching.
Live Video Services Using Fast Broadcasting Scheme  [PDF]

Abstract: The Fast Broadcasting scheme is one of the simplest schemes that provide video services. In this scheme, the video is divided into equal-sized segments depending upon the bandwidth allocated by the video server. If the video length is not known, then this scheme cannot be applied as the number of video segments cannot be determined. In a live video wherein the video size is unknown, especially the ending time of the live broadcast, e.g., cricket match, this scheme cannot be applied. In this paper, we propose a model that helps the Fast Broadcasting scheme to support live video broadcasting. The basic architecture of the system consists of a live system with one video channel that broadcasts the live video and a video server that broadcasts the already broadcast live video to users.

Abstract: Time synchronization is one of the important aspects in wireless sensor networks. Time synchronization assures that all the sensor nodes in wireless sensor network have the same clock time. There are various applications such as seismic study, military applications, pollution monitoring where sensor nodes require synchronized time. Time synchronization is mandatory for many wireless sensor networks protocols such as MAC protocols and also important for TDMA scheduling for proper duty cycle coordination. Time synchronization is a stimulating problem in wireless sensor networks because each node has its own local clock which keeps on varying due to variation in the oscillator frequency. The oscillator frequency is time varying due to ambient conditions which leads to re-synchronization of nodes time and again. This re-synchronization process is energy consuming whereas energy is constraints in WSN. This paper proposes a novel cluster based time synchronization technique for wireless sensor networks in which cluster head rotation is based on minimum clock offset. Simulation results based on energy analysis of the proposed model demonstrate that proposed novel cluster based time synchronization technique reduces the energy consumption and also the synchronization error compared with other existing protocols.
Study of Upper Critical Magnetic Field of Superconducting HoMo6Se8  [PDF]

Abstract: This work focuses on the study of mathematical aspects of upper critical magnetic field of superconducting HoMo6Se8. At zero external magnetic field, HoMo6Se8 was found to undergo a transition from the normal state to the superconducting state at 5.6 K and returned to a normal but magnetically ordered state between the temperature range of 0.3 K and 0.53 K. The main objective of this work is to show the temperature dependence of the upper critical magnetic field of superconducting HoMo6Se8 by using the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) phenomenological Equation. We found the direct relationship between the GL coherence length (ξGL) and penetration depth (λGL) with temperature. From the GL Equations and the results obtained for the GL coherence length, the expression for upper critical magnetic field (Hc2) is obtained for the superconducting HoMo6Se8. The result is plotted as a function of temperature. The graph shows the linear dependence of upper critical magnetic field (Hc2) with temperature (T) and our finding is in agreement with experimental observations.
Mother's knowledge Regarding to Prevention of Domestic Gas Accidents in Kerman, Iran.

Abstract: This research is a descriptive study which carried out to determine knowledge of mothers in Kerman about prevention of domestic natural gas accidents in 2000. The number of sample was calculated 431 mothers that the calculation was done according the result of pilot study. The random cluster sampling method was used in this study. Data collection tool was an investigator a€“ made questionnaire included demographic characteristics (11 questions) and 20 multiple choice questions about knowledge of s subjects. Mean and standard deviation of knowledge score were 14.27 and 2.80 respectively. The comparison of total knowledge score in terms of personal characteristics and variables related to gas, revealed significant differences on age (P < 0.01), Educational level ( P < 0.001 ),having domestic gas (P < 0.001) and receiving Educational booklet about prevention of domestic gas accidents (P < 0.001).

Abstract: Existing broadcasting schemes provide services for the stored videos. The basic approach in these schemes is to divide the video into segments and organize them over the channels for proper transmission. Some schemes use segments as a basic unit, whereas the others require segments to be further divided into subsegments. In a scheme, the number of segments/subsegments depends upon the bandwidth allocated to the video by the video server. For constructing segments, the video length should be known. If it is unknown, then the segments cannot be constructed and hence the scheme cannot be applied to provide the video services. This is an important issue especially in live broadcasting applications wherein the ending time of the video is unknown, for example, cricket match. In this paper, we propose a mechanism for the conservative staircase scheme so that it can support live video broadcasting.

Abstract: Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) are comprised of small embedded audio/video motes capable of extracting the surrounding environmental information, locally processing it and then wirelessly transmitting it to sink/base station. Multimedia data such as image, audio and video is larger in volume than scalar data such as temperature, pressure and humidity. Thus to transmit multimedia information, more energy is required which reduces the lifetime of the network. Limitation of battery energy is a crucial problem in WMSN that needs to be addressed to prolong the lifetime of the network. In this paper we present a clustering approach based on Spectral Graph Partitioning (SGP) for WMSN that increases the lifetime of the network. The efficient strategies for cluster head selection and rotation are also proposed as part of clustering approach. Simulation results show that our strategy is better than existing strategies.

Abstract:

Wireless multimedia sensor network (WMSN) consists of sensors that can monitor multimedia data from its surrounding, such as capturing image, video and audio. To transmit multimedia information, large energy is required which decreases the lifetime of the network. In this paper we present a clustering approach based on spectral graph partitioning (SGP) for WMSN that increases the lifetime of the network. The efficient strategies for cluster head selection and rotation are also proposed.
