The Political Ritual, the Party and the People: A Perspective on Sinicization of Marxism in the New Democratic Revolution  [PDF]
Wei Fu
Advances in Anthropology (AA) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/aa.2019.91001
Abstract: Marxism was not only a set of philosophical theory but also the ideology of the Party. The Sinicization of Marxism was a process in which the abstract principles of Marxism became the guiding ideology of the CPC under the specific practical environment of China. The Sinicization of Marxism was based on the combination of Marxism and the Party, the Chinese people, as well as that of Marxism and the revolutionary practice in China. In this process, political ritual as a part of the Party’s ideology played an important role. And the practical experience of political ritual in the period of the new democratic revolution could give some inspiration to current and future ideological work.

Smietniansky,Silvina;
Memoria americana , 2007,
Abstract: this article analyzes an impeachment proceeding that took place in 1775-1776 in colonial tucumán, in terms of a political ritual. we understand that by performing the ideal way of government institution's operation and officials' behaviour, the impeachment proceeding acted as a political ritual, reinforcing monarchical power in the colonies, transmitting a set of social values and congregating the local community. from this ritual perspective, we approach the problem of the tension between the norms and aims of the impeachment procedure, and the consequences and implications of its practice.
Abstract: This article tries to present the values of the crime novel. On the one hand, it focuses on those values sustained by its external ideological content, i.e., on the nominal, social and political value documented in numerous essays. On the other hand, it delves into its hidden ideology, and deepest values: death and its symbolical representation in the detective and black story in order to show that the death instincts that lead to murder are aimed at an end: establish, murder after murder, a deadly ritual that becomes a real sacrifice for the reader. Thus, in the crime novel, no one is inno-cent, not even those who read it.
Tucumán 18th Century Impeachment proceeding in Colonial times
Silvina Smietniansky
Memoria Americana , 2007,
This article analyzes an impeachment proceeding that took place in 1775-1776 in colonial Tucumán, in terms of a political ritual.
Political Communication and the Median Space of Religious Experience
Sandu FRUNZA
Revista de Cercetare ?i Interven?ie Social? , 2012,
Abstract: The text proposes to uncover relevant mythical, ritualistic, religious aspects present in political communication. With modernity we note that in democratic societies symbolic communication recovers into a form of cultural and ideological pluralism the essential aspects of a legacy based on religious pluralism and plural symbolic expressions. The democratic human being of contemporary societies acts in public space in a manner in many ways similar to human conduct in traditional societies in the median space of religious experience. Secularization as a positive value of modernity does not eliminate the presence of the sacred from the modern political imaginary and from the symbolic communication manifested in the form of political communication.
Fils du territoire, alliés de la forêt. Expressions rituelles du rapport au territoire chez les Kulung Rai du Népal oriental Son of the Territory, Allies of the forest. Ritual Expressions of the Kulung Rai’s Relations with their Territory (Eastern Nepal)
Rituals performed by the Kulung reveal a complex and sometimes contradictory relationship to territory. This is notably the case of the entities to which these rituals are addressed : ancestors, forest powers or the ambivalent and mediating figure of the Nagi. Tension between two forms of space-territory occupation legitimacy is revealed. One is founded upon the logic of confrontation/alliance and places individuals and territorial conquest at the forefront. The other is founded on the logic of filiation and places the group as a collective, land inheritance and even autochthony at the forefront. This tension can be explained by concrete stakes which accompany these representations, in this case : the political and land control relation both within the group and with neighbouring communities.
Abstract:In discussing the theoretical differences between Mencius and Xunzi, most of scholars' arguments focused on the issue of human nature, but on the topic about the reconstruction of the social political orders, Mencius and Xunzi shared the similar aims. If we observe their difference in the light of their similarity, the possible interpretation of the difference could be their different ways to reconstruct the political order: Mencius advocated the view that political order can be realized by extending one's mind of Ren (Renxin, 仁心) directly, while Xunzi insisted rebuilding the political order by objective ritual (Li, 礼) ; The former's discussion of politics depended on morality and on the contrary the latter's morality theory was based on politics. What Xunzi advocated is more objective and practical, while Mencius' thought tends to result in Utopian, although the idea of Ren manifests the dignity of morality and the greatness of personality. However, as Xunzi extremely focused on political order, morality in his thinking degrades into means for politics. In the present article the author attempts to demonstrate the similarity of both Mencius and Xunzi, and further analyzes their merits and demerits in theory.

The goddess of this temple is the family deity of Travancore royal family. Maari Theyyam is a traditional ritual performance of Madayi Kavu. This ritual is not allowed to be observed in the premises of Madayi Kavu. All other Theyyams are allowed to be performed in the premises of the temple. Maari Theyyam is performed away from the temple premises. It is a kind of untouchability towards Maari Theyyam.
