Abstract: this work has the objective to evaluate fruit of fragrant granadille (passiflora alata dryand.) and acid passion fruit (passiflora edulis sims f. flavicarpa deg.) in climatic conditions of brasília, df, brazil, according to the harvest season and maturation stage. a completely randomized design with treatments in a 2x2x2 factorial scheme referring to species, season and maturation stage, with five replications and three samples in each replication was used. physical-chemical evaluations were conducted on soluble solids contents, total titrable acidity, total sugars, reducing sugars, non-reducer sugars. the acid passion fruit showed desirable atributes of market quality to be consumed as fresh fruit and for processing, in both harvest seasons and maturation stages tested. fragrant granadille presented more sugars at cold season. anticipation of harvest might be done up to four days, for fragant granadille, and up to eight days before fruit falling, for the acid passion fruit, without interfering on the quality, allowing longer periods to trading, with smaller risk of losing fruit quality.

Abstract: Este trabalho objetivou avaliar a qualidade dos frutos do maracujazeiro doce e ácido nas condi es de cerrado de Brasília, DF, por meio de características físico-químicas, de acordo com a época de produ o e do estádio de matura o dos frutos. Adotou-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 2x2x2, com cinco repeti es e três subamostras dentro de cada repeti o. Foram feitas avalia es de acidez total titulável, sólidos solúveis totais a úcares totais, a úcares redutores e a úcares n o-redutores. O maracujá-ácido apresentou atributos de qualidade para consumo in natura e para a indústria nas duas épocas e nos dois estádios de matura o, enquanto o maracujá-doce apresentou maior teor de a úcares no período mais frio. A antecipa o da colheita de frutos em até quatro dias no maracujá-doce, e em até oito dias no maracujá-ácido n o comprometem a qualidade, o que possibilita maior prazo para a comercializa o e menores riscos de perdas dos frutos.

Abstract: brazil is one of the largest mango producers in the world with 1,3 millions of tones from an area of 72,5 hectares. nevertheless, the mango exports in 2010 was about 140 thousand tones which is approximately 10% of the total production. the diversification of mango supply to the internal and external markets has been done since the fresh mango from conventional production to the organic fruit from a specific management and also, most recently, there is a tendency for an increase demand of processed mango. to comply with these demands there is not only a need for the development of the processing industry, but also the improvement of mango cultivars and management techniques to attend the several exigencies of the market for conventional fresh, organic and processed fruits. this paper has the objective to suggest to the mango breeders efficient strategies to get and select the so called "ideal mango cultivar" as well as to discuss more efficient management techniques to attend the high production and quality of mango as an answer to the dynamic of the internal and external market demands.
Severidade da antracnose e perda de matéria fresca de frutos de dez procedências de maracujázeiro-doce (Passiflora alata Dryander) em dois ambientes de armazenamento

Abstract: Frutos de maracujá-doce de dez procedências foram avaliados quanto à severidade da antracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz.) e quanto à perda de matéria fresca em dois ambientes de armazenamento: camara fria (5oC e UR de 90%) e em ambiente de sala (23±1oC e UR de 65±5%). Plantas provenientes de frutos colhidos em estado nativo ou adquiridos nos mercados da Central de Abastecimento de S o Paulo- CEAGESP, procedências A, B e C; Vi osa-MG, procedência D; Tomé-A u-PA, procedência E; Itacoatiara-AM, procedência F; Ouro Preto d'Oeste-RO, procedência G; Domingos Martins-ES, procedência H; Pontes e Lacerda-MT, procedência I; e Rondonópolis-MT, procedência J, foram estabelecidas no Distrito Federal. Após as primeiras colheitas, a melhor planta de cada procedência, selecionada pela maior taxa de vingamento, colora o da casca, tamanho do fruto e menor espessura de casca, foi multiplicada por estaquia. Frutos de três plantas clonadas de cada procedência, obtidos por poliniza o natural, foram colhidos de vez e mantidos em caixas de papel o padr o. As avalia es do percentual de perda de matéria fresca foram efetuadas no dia da colheita (tempo zero), aos 3; 6; 9 e 12 dias após, enquanto a severidade da antracnose (% da superfície do fruto ocupada por les es) e incidência (% de frutos atacados) de outras doen as foram quantificadas aos 12 dias de armazenamento. As procedências com menores índices de antracnose foram a I e G. Os frutos armazenados em camara fria foram menos afetados pela doen a. As procedências G e A foram as que, ao final dos doze dias de armazenamento, perderam menos matéria fresca sendo, respectivamente, de 16,68% e 17,86% em ambiente de sala e de 7,71 e 6,61% em camara fria. Considerando-se a média de todas as procedências, aos 12 dias de armazenamento, a menor perda de matéria fresca (9,78%) ocorreu em camara fria, contra 22,06% em ambiente de sala. As procedências A, E, F, G e J perderam menos matéria fresca em ambiente natural que as demais.

Abstract: the coconut tree has become an important crop in brazilian central region. profitability, high demand for coconut water and the grower needs for supplementary source of income are the main factors responsible for the increasing interest for cultivation of coconut tree. a total of 1.700 t of coconut was commercialized at ceasa-df in 1994 mainly imported from other regions. despite the importance of this crop, the average of national yield is very low due to the use of unselected genotypes and undefined production system.the embrapa cerrados research center has started a partnership work with embrapa tabuleiros costeiros to evaluate the behavior of dwarf cultivars and hybrids regarding vegetative growth in brasília, federal district. this study was established in a randomized block design with four and two treatments of dwarf and hybrid genotypes and three replications for each study. the dwarf varieties were the following: red-dwarf-from-malasia (rdm), green-dwarf-from-jiquí (gdj), red-dwarf-from-cameroon (rdc), red-dwarf-from-gramame (rdg); and the hybrids: yellow-dwarf-from-gramame x giant-from-western-africa (ydg x gwa), red-dwarf-from-gramame x brazilian-giant-from-praia-do-forte (rdg x bgpf). the following growth parameters were evaluated: trunk (stipe) circumference, number and length of leaves.the 'green dwarf of jiqui' has shown the highet growth of the trunk circumference among the dwarf genotypes, but no difference has been found among hybrids.

Abstract: sweet passion fruit (passiflora alata dryander) from ten different sources were evaluated for the severity of anthracnose (colletotrichum gloeosporioides penz.) and their fresh weight losses when stored in two environmental conditions: cold storage (5oc and 90% r.h.) and room temperature (23±1oc and 65±5% r.h.). seed plants were established from ten sources proceeding from the central of food supply of s?o paulo state - ceagesp (sources a, b e c), vi?osa-mg (source d), tomé-a?u-pa (source e), itacoatiara-am (source f), ouro preto d'oeste-ro (source g), domingos martins-es (source h), pontes e lacerda-mt (source i), rondonópolis-mt (source j) and stem cuttings were collected from the best plants to produce the asexual matrix plants. unriped fruits produced in distrito federal, brazil, were harvested from plants obtained by stem-rooted cuttings. all origins were collected in wild conditions, except a, b, c and e sources. fruit evaluations were done by determining their weight fresh matter after 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 days after harvesting, whereas the anthracnose severity (% of fruit area with lesions) and incidence (% of infected fruits) of other diseases were evaluated after 12 days of storage. the anthracnose was less severe on fruits from sources i and g, however, this disease shown less severe attack when fruits were stored in cold conditions. after 12 days of storage at room temperature, the fruit sources g and a, had fresh matter losses of 16,68% and 17,86% while in cold storage the fresh matter losses were 7,71% and 6,61%, respectively. the percentage of fresh matter loss of g, a, e, j and f fruit sources was less in room temperature when compared with other sources. it was observed after 12 days at cold storage, that the fresh matter loss shown an average of 9,78%, which is approximately twice lower the storage at room temperature (22,06%).

Abstract: the mango breeding to select and obtaining cultivars of dwarf rootstocks is very important for the brazilian cerrados conditions. the north american mango cultivars, normally are vigorous and have tall size, impeding the cultural practices (harvesting and foliar spraying). the main object of this work is to obtain dwarf plants with high yields and high quality fruits.

Abstract: O melhoramento, visando à sele o de porta-enxertos com tendência ananicante para mangueira nas condi es dos Cerrados, é de grande importancia. As cultivares de manga para exporta o Tommy Atkins e Haden, embora muito produtivas e com frutas de colora o excelente e polpa sem fibras, s o muito vigorosas e de porte muito elevado, o que dificulta os tratos culturais e a colheita. O objetivo do trabalho foi obter o efeito interativo da copa x porta-enxerto sobre a altura da planta, sua produtividade e qualidade de frutas.

Abstract: Among the several existing organizational strategies, outsourcing has achieved increasing prominence in the business field, where it is already considered to be notably generalized, requiring a continuous review of its fundamental aspects. Therefore, this study aspires to present, through an observational study, an analysis of the outsourcing strategy from Avatar, the motion picture. The choice of research was driven by the relationship between two organizations constituting the background of the narrative: RDA and the Avatar Program. Data was analyzed to identify elements either described by the theory or diverging from it. Finally, it was concluded that the entire outsourcing process should take into account critical success factors, such as: organizational culture or the difference in perception of business between all involved companies. Entre las innúmeras estrategias organizacionales existentes, la contratación de terceros ha adquirido cada vez más destaque en la esfera empresarial, donde ya se encuentra altamente generalizada, exigiendo un análisis continuo de sus aspectos fundamentales. De esa forma, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar, por medio de un estudio observacional, un análisis de la estrategia de contratación de terceros presente en el filme Avatar. Su selección para esta investigación fue motivada por la relación entre dos organizaciones que son el plan de fondo de la narrativa: la RDA y el Programa Avatar. Los datos fueron analizados con el objetivo de buscar elementos de la narrativa que fueron descritos por la teoría o que están en desacuerdo de ella. Se concluye que todo proceso de contratación de terceros debe considerar sus factores críticos de suceso, como la cultura organizacional o las diferencias de percepción del negocio entre las empresas relacionadas. Dentre as inúmeras estratégias organizacionais existentes, a terceiriza o tem adquirido cada vez mais destaque na esfera empresarial, onde já se encontra altamente generalizada, exigindo uma análise contínua de seus aspectos fundamentais. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar, por meio de um estudo observacional, uma análise da estratégia de terceiriza o presente no filme Avatar. Sua escolha para esta pesquisa foi motivada pela rela o entre duas organiza es que s o o plano de fundo da narrativa: a RDA e o Programa Avatar. Os dados foram analisados visando buscar elementos da narrativa que foram descritos
