Abstract: considering the climatic aptitude the fruit plants are classified in: tropical, subtropical and temperate. this traditional classification was very effective during a long period of time. based on more update knowledge of the origin centers of the different species, the technological advances in the fruit crops and, in the fruit conservation and specially the genetic breeding created exceptional for the cropping of tropical species and temperate in subtropical climate. in this research were select the atemoya, persimmon, fig tree and guava crop based not only in the national and regional importance but also in the different contributions that the scientific research offered to the fruit plants. atemoya - within the fruit species exploited in a large scale may be the more recent introduction in cropping in brazil, initiated in the 1980 decade. several techniques of cropping were developed such as root stocks more adequate for each region, pruning, artificial pollination, pest management and disease control and several others technologies that permitted a fast expansion of the fruit crops in several country regions. although the remarkable contribution of the universities, research institutes and extension agencies, was fundamental the pioneer contribution of the producers to solve the problems of the crops indicating the necessity for more research in this crop fruit. persimmon - the brazilian production of persimmon (ibge - 2009) was 171,555 tons was obtained in a area of 8,770 ha and represented a value of 146,67 real millions. the major production states in brazil were s?o paulo (111,646 tons) rio grande do sul, paraná and rio de janeiro. the main cultivars in production are: 'rama forte', 'giombo' and 'fuyu' which are found in the internal market. fig tree - the brazilian production of fig at 2009 according to ibge - ibraf were 24,146 tons being the major production states in brazil the rio grande do sul and s?o paulo. at s?o paulo the fig production is concentra

Abstract: the jaboticabal micro-region, located in s?o paulo state, brazil, considered unsuitable for peach tree culture, presents important comparative advantages in relation to other traditional regions producing peach in brazil, as the reduced frost incidence, low air relative humidity and hidric deficit between april and september, beyond precocious production possibility (august to october), which has remunerated satisfactorily the fruit growers. however, the research results are consistent only to 'aurora-1' peach. aiming to consolidate this micro-region as a new peach production pole of high quality, the present research was conducted in vista alegre do alto, s?o paulo state, and had the objective to study the fruiting, physical fruit characteristics and productivity of 'aurora-1' and 'régis' cultivar, and 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections. with the evaluations carried through in 2nd and 3rd years after transplant (2005 and 2006 harvests), it was possible to conclude that: a) the fruiting of 'régis' and 'aurora-1' cultivars and 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections is satisfactory in normal climatic conditions in vista alegre do alto, s?o paulo state, brazil; b) 'régis' peach tree presents production and productivity equivalent to 'aurora-1', becoming an option for ultraprecocious production of double purpose fruits, despite its fruits being smaller and lighter than 'aurora-1' peach, 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections; c) 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections present potential in vista alegre do alto, s?o paulo state, presenting fruits with double purpose characteristics, being heavier than 'aurora-1' peach, being able to reach production and productivity equivalent to this cultivar.
Vigor de clones de umezeiro e pessegueiro 'Okinawa' propagados por estacas herbáceas

Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the vigour of three mume's clones (prunus mume sieb. et zucc.) and 'okinawa' peach tree [prunus persica (l.) batsch], propagated by herbaceous cuttings, at field conditions. the experimental design was in randomized blocks, using four treatments (genotypes) and five repetitions, with 0.5 m among plants. 'okinawa' peach presented larger trunck diameter, in relation to mume's clones. in the adjacent analysis of the variables, mume's clone 10 reveals least vigorous, indicating the possibility of success as dwarf rootstock for peach tree.

Abstract: trials were developed under intermittent mist, at the faculdade de ciências agrárias e veterinárias ? unesp, campus de jaboticabal, sp, brazil, in the period of november of 1997 to december of 1999, with the objective of studying the grapevine scion obtained by bench-grafting of herbaceous cuttings. herbaceous branches of iac 313 'tropical' and iac 766 'campinas' rootstocks and rubi cultivar were used. grafted cuttings were obtained by process of bench grafting (cleft grafting and budding). type protection of graft, type of cuttings and container-grow were investigated. the rooting and graft takes were evaluated. the process of bench grafting by cleft grafting showed high graft takes to 30 (45,25%) and 60 days (66,20%) after grafting. the type of cuttings didn't affect the graft takes. but, the survival index graft in all trials was lower and null. herbaceous cutting without grafting showed more rooting rate (55,62%) than the herbaceous cuttings with bench grafting (50,56%). the process of bench grafting of iac 313 'tropical' and iac 766 'campinas' herbaceous cuttings wasn't efficient for plant grapevine formation.

Abstract: the peach tree culture, in the last years, has been showing to be a viable technically and an attractive economic activity in the region of jaboticabal, state of s?o paulo, brazil. for this region to become a new peaches' production pole, new studies are necessary using new peach cultivars and adapted genotypes with double purpose, enlarging the options and harvest period. the present research had for objective to study the fenology and bud production in 'aurora-1' and 'régis' peach cultivars and 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections in the region of jaboticabal. in two years of evaluations (2005 and 2006), it was conclude that: a) 'régis' cultivar presents larger bud flowers production for mixed branch, larger vegetative/flowers buds relation and smaller cycle (between 72 and 74 days) among the genotypes studied, being the only one classified as ultra precocious; b) the selections 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' present medium cycle and identical fenological behavior, having a harvest period between december 8th to 28th ; c) 'aurora-1' cultivar, when cultivated in the region of jaboticabal, presents flower/vegetative bud relation near to 1, cycle between 82 and 85 days and can be classified as very precocious.
Efeito do ethephon na qualidade da uva 'Niagara Rosada' (Vitis labrusca L.), produzida na entressafra, na regi?o de Jales-SP

Abstract: in the region of jales (sp) the 'niagara rosada' grape yield obtained of grapevines pruned in periods of occurrence of low temperatures is in general unsatisfactory, presenting small yield and clusters with inadequate quality to commercialization. this quality of the yield is related to effective sprouting. thus, this work rad the objective to evaluate the application of ethephon in different levels before the pruning, aiming the improvement of sprouting and clusters quality, in six experiments during the years of 2001 and 2002. levels of 0, 3, 6 and 9 l.ha-1 of ethephon were applied by leaf. it was concluded that the use of ethephon, in level of 9 l.ha-1, provided bigger clusters and berries with greater weight, length and width, improving their aspect. the application of ethephon did not affect the tenor of total soluble solid and the titulabre total acidity, not modifying the flavor of grape 'niagara rosada'.

Abstract: the present study had for objective to study the formation of 'aurora-1' peach nursery plants budded on mume's clones 10 and 15 propagated by herbaceous cuttings. after rooting period, the rooted cuttings were transplanted to plastic boxes containing commercial substrate and maintained under nursery conditions until the stems reached 10mm diameter. in this period, the rootstocks were budded with 'aurora-1' peach by modified ship bud. 135 days after the bud, the experiment was evaluated. from the obtained results, it was possible to conclude that the production of 'aurora-1' peach budded on mume's clones 10 and 15 propagated by herbaceous cuttings is viable, with indexes of tissue union around 85% and rootstock mortality inferior to 7%. the bud length is not influenced by mume's clone used as rootstock, but the diameter of the buds is larger when the bud is accomplished in the mume clone 15.

Abstract: mume (prunus mume sieb. et zucc.) presents promising characteristics for use as rootstock for peach and nectarines trees, however, when adopted the sexual propagation, it results in very heterogeneous plants, as a function of the mume's great genetic variability. three clones (clones 05, 10 and 15), selected from plants grown in the esta??o experimental de jundiaí (iac), s?o paulo state, brazil, propagated vegetatively and maintained in fcav/unesp, jaboticabal campus, have been object of several studies to make possible the agronomical use of these materials. the present study had for objective to evaluate the growth of three mume clones and 'okinawa' peach propagated by herbaceous cuttings. the rooted cuttings were transplanted for plastic bags, maintained in nursery conditions and evaluated (stem diameter and length) up to 145 days. the mume clones 05, 10 and 15 presented continuous growth with relationship to stem length, while 'okinawa' peach stabilized growth 100 days after transplant, reflecting in lower plants. differences don't exist among the mume clones studied in stem diameter after 100 days and stem length after 115 days of rooted cuttings transplant. 'okinawa' peach presents larger stem diameter in relation to mume clones 05, 10 and 15, what defines larger percentage of capable rootstocks for accomplishment of graft.

Abstract: studies about macadamia flowering were carried under conditions of jaboticabal, state of s?o paulo, brazil (latitude 21o 15's, longitude 48o 18'w) from may 1993 to october 1995 using six years old plants of cultivar iac 5-10 and iac 8-17 selected by instituto agron?mico de campinas (iac). there are three buds in the axis leaf but only on the upper and median form inflorescences. it was observed that floral buds born principally on thin branches ( diameter between 0.2 and 0.7 cm) and in a period of 48 and 55 days or 330 and 350 degree days (base temperature = 12.8 oc) from initial buds to anthesis. inflorescence and flower + pedicel presented sigmoid development. initial period of flowering (white buds) occurred during may and anthesis occurred principally from august to september.
