Finalmente, analisamos as transforma es no eixo autor–obra–recep o, diante dessa nova prática poética.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to verify the effect of different removal methods of the sarcotesta of jaracatia spinosa (aubl.) a. dc. seeds on the germination percentage, (sgi) speed of germination index and length of the aerial part. the seeds were submitted to the following treatments: 1 - without sarcotesta removal; 2 - removal with friction on sieve, with sand; 3 - removal with friction on sieve with whitewash; 4 - removal with blender, 5 - removal with seeds pulpremoval and 6 - removal with chemical solution (immersion, for 30 minutes, in solution for 1.0 l of water, 3.5 ml of sodium hypochlorite, 3.0 ml of muriatic acid and 22.5g of caustic soda). the presence of the sarcotesta harms the seed germination and development. the best methods for the removal of the jaracatiá seeds sarcotesta are the friction on sieve with sand or whitewash.
Percep??o da morte pelo paciente oncológico ao longo do desenvolvimento

Abstract: the purpose of this study is to undertake a non-systematic revision of the bibliography dedicated to the perception of the experiences of 'the coming death and dying' in the perspective of the oncologycal patient, in accordance with the different phases of lifespan. the results show that, in children, the perception of death is modified gradually as the thought and the language develops. in adults, the conception of death depends on their physical and psychological experience. finally, in elderly people the death is better accepted and its perception depends on the satisfaction previously gained during the lifespan. bearing that in mind, specialized bibliography emphasizes that the perception of the coming death is still an eminently individual experience, therefore, the subjectivity of each oncologycal patient should be considered. concluding, this study intends to emphasize the transformations in the perception of the coming death, during the illness development, coping with the presence of death as an integrating part of life.

Abstract: this study presents a reflexive analysis on the health evaluation methods in the perspective of care conceived and performed according to the users' needs. there are several forms and approaches of the evaluative processes in search of a better apprehension of the object under evaluation. in this context, the user's satisfaction appears as an indicator for quality of health services, linked to better adaptation and promotion of real changes in health practices. concerning the innovative proposal of the family health program (psf), based on the principles of integrality, reception, health care and humanization, the participation, the partnership and the users' satisfaction should be introduced as key elements in the formulation of their actions, therefore allowing changes in the hegemonic, healthcare model, that is positivistic, assistentialist and curativistic. the user's presence in the evaluation process will ensure a peculiar performance, remodeling health practices - probably making them more human, homelike, and consequently more resolutive.

Abstract: sonographic presentation of bile duct hamartomas is variable. it is important to recognize their different forms of presentation in order to be included in the differential diagnosis of multiple focal hepatic lesions. herein the authors report a case of bile duct hamartomas that was identified as multiple diffuse hyperechogenic liver nodules with the largest measuring 1.6 cm, without posterior acoustic reverberation.

Abstract: recent advances in ultrasound have optimized the detection of liver tumors and helped to improve the prognosis of patients with this condition as newly developed and improved therapeutic modalities have been established. the authors review important doppler findings which may help in the identification and characterization of some hepatic tumors through the evaluation of color doppler, pulsed doppler and power doppler features. new imaging methods such as the use of harmonics imaging are also reviewed.

Abstract: A?aí (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) has recently emerged as a promising source of natural antioxidants. Despite its claimed pharmacological and nutraceutical value, studies regarding the effects of a?aí in vivo are limited. In this study, we use the Caenorhabditis elegans model to evaluate the in vivo antioxidant properties of a?aí on an organismal level and to examine its mechanism of action. Supplementation with a?aí aqueous extract (AAE) increased both oxidative and osmotic stress resistance independently of any effect on reproduction and development. AAE suppressed bacterial growth, but this antimicrobial property did not influence stress resistance. AAE-increased stress resistance was correlated with reduced ROS production, the prevention of sulfhydryl (SH) level reduction and gcs-1 activation under oxidative stress conditions. Our mechanistic studies indicated that AAE promotes oxidative stress resistance by acting through DAF-16 and the osmotic stress response pathway OSR-1/UNC-43/SEK-1. Finally, AAE increased polyglutamine protein aggregation and decreased proteasome activity. Our findings suggest that natural compounds available in AAE can improve the antioxidant status of a whole organism under certain conditions by direct and indirect mechanisms.
