ANTICANCER AND CYTOTOXIC POTENTIAL OF TRITICUM AESTIVUM EXTRACT ON HELA CELL LINE

Abstract: The objective of the study was to analyze the anticancer property of the leaves of Triticum aestivum on HeLa cells. The Indian medicinal plant Triticum aestivum that is used in traditional medicine for cancer and non cancerous diseases was collected. The crude methanolic extract was prepared by using standard protocols. The antiproliferative effect the methanolic extract was evaluated in vitro by employing MTT assay. The potency of each plant extract concentration was calculated in terms of percent decrease in viable HeLa cells as compared to the control value. The extract showed dose dependent antitumor activity. The MTT assay showed an anti proliferative activity (IC50) at 156 μg/ml of crude extract.

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an emerging technology. Research in AI is focused on developing computational approaches to intelligent behavior. The computer programs with which AI could be associated are primarily processes associated with complexity, ambiguity, ndecisiveness, and uncertainty. This present paper surveys the development of a condition monitoring procedure for different types ofbearings, which involves an artificial intelligence method as well as reviewed in order to examine the capability of AI methods and techniques to effectively address various hard-to-solve design tasks and issues relating different types of bearing fault. Although this review cannot be collectively exhaustive, it may be considered as a valuable guide for researchers who are interested in the domain of AI and wish to explore the opportunities offered by fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms for further improvement of conditioning monitoring for different types of bearing under different operating conditioning. Recent trends in research on conditioning monitoring using AI for different bearing have also been included.

Abstract: Phag described in classical text of Ayurveda is botanically identified as Rivea ornata. In present study methanolic extract of plant Rivea ornata was screened for in- vitro antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria by cup-plate method. The methanolic extract of the plant significantly inhibit the growth of bacteria as compared to the standard bactericide. The study reveals that the methanolic fraction of plant Rivea ornata possess significant antibacterial activity.
Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology as A Diagnostic Procedure in Head and Neck Swellings

Abstract: Background: Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is simple, quick, inexpensive and minimally invasive technique used to diagnose different types of swellings located in the head and neck. Aims: To assess the incidence of different sites, age, sex and distribution of inflammation. Material & Methods: A prospective study was conducted from July 2007 to November 2009. Fine Needle Aspiration Diagnosis was correlated with detail of relevant clinical findings and investigation. Total 100 cases were studied. Results: Highest incidence was found in the age group 11-20, and 41-50.Femaleswere most common victims with female male ratio of11.5: 1.Head and Neck swelling is common finding now a days and Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology is most common diagnostic procedure for such type of cases and most common method to differentiating between benign and malignant lesion. As diagnostic procedure we came to know regarding the most common lesion involved in head and neck region. Conclusion: Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology is easy, simple, safe and non invasive procedure for diagnosis of head and neck swelling and easy way for surgeon whether to decide surgery or not.
Development and Validation of Spectrophotometric Method For Simultaneous Estimation of Rosuvastatin Calcium and Aspirin In Bulk and Pharmaceutical Dosage Form

Abstract: Rosuvastatin calcium and Aspirin combination is used in the treatment of Cardio vascular diseases.Rosuvastatin calcium is HMG Co-A reductase inhibitor and Aspirin is Antiplatelet agent. Literature survey revealed one UV Spectrophotometric method for simultaneous estimation of Rosuvastatin calcium and Aspirin in combined dosage form. Therefore simple, sensitive, rapid and precise spectrophotometric method has been developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Rosuvastatin calcium and Aspirin from bulk and its pharmaceutical dosage form. These drugs were estimated in formulation by Q-absorption method in which wavelengths selected were 257nm as iso-absorptive point and 244nm as λmax of Rosuvastatin calcium. Linearity was observed in the concentration range of 10-50 μg/ml and 40-120 μg/ml for Rosuvastatin calcium and Aspirin respectively. Percentage purity and accuracy were in the limit of 98-102% and precision was less than 2 for both drugs. Limit of Detection for Rosuvastatin calcium & Aspirin was found to be 1.6730μg/ml & 7.4278μg/ml respectively. Limit of Quantitation for Rosuvastatin calcium & Aspirin was found to be 5.0696μg/ml & 22.5083μg/ml respectively. Validation study revealed that the method is simple, rapid, specific, accurate, precise, reproducible, robust and economic and can be used for routine quantitative analysis of Rosuvastatin calcium and Aspirin in pure and combined pharmaceutical dosage form.
Difference Spectrophotometric Method Development and Validation For Simultaneous Estimation of Rosuvastatin Calcium and Telmisartan in Bulk and Combined Dosage Form

Abstract: Rosuvastatin calcium and Telmisartan combination is used in the treatment of coronary heart diseases. UV spectrophptometric and chromatographic methods were reported in the literature forthe estimation of Rosuvastatin calcium and Telmisartan. Therefore a simple and highly sensitive difference spectrometric method for the estimation of Rosuvastatin calcium and Telmisartan in bulk and in combined dosage form is described. The proposed method is based on the principle that both the drugs can exhibit two different forms in acidic and basic medium that differs in their absorption spectra in acidic and basic medium. In the difference spectrum, Rosuvastatin calcium showed maxima at 248nm and minima at 237.5nm and Telmisartan showed maxima at 309nm and minima at 286nm. Linearity range was observed in the concentration range of 20-60μg/ml for Rosuvastatin calcium and Telmisartan. Percentage purity and recovery study were in the limit of 98-102% and precision was less than 2 for both drugs. Limit of Detection for Rosuvastatin calicium and Telmisartan were found to be 0.0635μg/ml and 0.1693μg/ml respectively. Limit of Quantitatin for Rosuvastatin calcium and Telmisartan were found to be 0.1925 μg/ml and 0.5129μg/ml respectively. The proposed method can be successfully used for the analysis of pure drug and marketed formulation. The method is found to be precise, simple, accurate and can be applied for the routine estimation of Rosuvastatin calcium and Telmisartan.

Abstract: Cardiovascular disease is among the major cause of morbidity and mortality in industrialized countries.The earlier prevailing belief that chronic disease in adulthood are the consequences of adult lifestyle choices and exposures, has now also given room for thought to the concept that the process of atherosclerosis begins in childhood and that the fatty streaks are present in children as young as three year of age. In present study, infant and newborn baby, coming to S.S.G Hospital, Vadodara were taken in to study. Infants were divided in three groups. First group included new born between age of 1-5 days, second group an infant between age of 6-12 weeks and the third group infants suffering from low birth weight. Blood samples were collected from the vein of normal new born, age group of 6-12 weeks and from LBW babies. Samples from new born babies were collected within the 24 -36 hours of birth time. Serum Cholesterol was measured using PAP method, Triglyceride using GPO method and HDL-Cholesterol using PTA method, VLDL-Cholesterol and LDL-Cholesterol was calculated by using Friedewald’s equation. Each and every baby has corresponding normal value according to its age. It cannot be comparable with other age group norm with adult. Lipid profile of the Indian population baby cannot be comparable with norms of the other country because there are many factor can change profile value, like dietary habit, living habit and condition, environment and atmosphere also. Baby suffering or come with SFD and LBW has higher chance of CHD in an adulthood compare to other normal child.

The CTGF gene ?945?G/C polymorphism is not associated with cardiac or kidney complications in subjects with type 2 diabetes

Abstract: The CTGF ?945?G/C polymorphism (rs6918698) was examined in 495 Caucasian subjects with type 2 diabetes. Cardiac structure and function were assessed by transthoracic echocardiography. Kidney function was assessed using estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and albuminuria, and CKD defined as the presence of kidney damage (decreased kidney function (eGFR <60?ml/min/1.73?m2) or albuminuria).The mean age?±?SD of the cohort was 62?±?14?years, with a body mass index (BMI) of 31?±?6?kg/m2 and median diabetes duration of 11?years [25th, 75th interquartile range; 5, 18]. An abnormal echocardiogram was present in 73% of subjects; of these, 8% had LVH alone, 74% had diastolic dysfunction and 18% had systolic?±?diastolic dysfunction. CKD was present in 42% of subjects. There were no significant associations between the CTGF ?945?G/C polymorphism and echocardiographic parameters of LV mass or cardiac function, or kidney function both before and after adjustment for covariates of age, gender, BMI, blood pressure and hypertension. CTGF ?945 genotypes were not associated with the cardiac complications of LVH, diastolic or systolic dysfunction, nor with CKD.In Caucasians with type 2 diabetes, genetic variation in the CTGF ?945?G/C polymorphism is not associated with cardiac or kidney complications.Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) also known as CCN-2, is a cysteine rich secreted protein that mediates tissue fibrosis in multiple organs including the heart and kidney [1-3]. Abstract: The aged brain exhibits a loss in gray matter and a decrease in spines and synaptic densities that may represent a sequela for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. Membrane/lipid rafts (MLR), discrete regions of the plasmalemma enriched in cholesterol, glycosphingolipids, and sphingomyelin, are essential for the development and stabilization of synapses. Caveolin-1 (Cav-1), a cholesterol binding protein organizes synaptic signaling components within MLR. It is unknown whether loss of synapses is dependent on an age-related loss of Cav-1 expression and whether this has implications for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.
