International Journal of Green Pharmacy , 2010,
Abstract: The three chilli (Capsicum frutescens L.) cultivars viz. chilli DARL 210, Chilli Long Black and Sartoria were grown in middle hill climatic conditions of western Himalayas at an altitude of 5,500 feet above the sea level. The variation in total capsaicinoids (Capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin) was studied from budding to full maturity stage of fruits. The fruits were harvested at every fifteen days interval from flower budding (stage zero) to full maturity stage (stage seven). The total capsaicinoids were evaluated with the help of HPLC. It can be concluded from the study that, to achieve maximum pungency (total capsaicinoids) in these cultivars, the chilli cv. DARL 210 should be harvested at the stage of full maturity (after 105 days). Whereas, Chilli long black should be harvested after 75 days and cultivar Sartoria in between 60 to 90 days from flower budding stage. As far as pungency among these cultivars is concerned DARL 210 was the most pungent followed by Chilli Long black, while Sartoria was found least pungent cultivar.
Cystic fibrosis overview and update on infant care  [PDF]

Abstract: Cystic fibrosis is now the most common serious, autosomal-recessive disease. It has been described in every population in all parts of the world. In the US, newborn screening is available in all states. Current studies demonstrate that newborn screening, early diagnosis, early nutritional and environmental intervention, and an understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease may increase life expectancy and quality-of-life. Evidence-based guidelines encourage the use of early nutritional intervention and initiation of pulmonary therapies. The average lung function of patients with cystic fibrosis corresponds with genetic makeup, age of intervention, and environmental factors including the socioeconomic status of the patient's family. We reviewed and updated current understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease, diagnosis, and the benefits of early diagnosis via newborn screening in evaluating the nutritional status of our youngest cystic fibrosis patients; the direct correlation of malnutrition to pulmonary- and cognitive-function outcomes are reviewed and updated from literature.

Abstract: There are billions of packets flying around the web sky today. A significant number of them are of malicious intent. These packets help us to understand when there are notable security or performance events occurring on the network and also to find out common network problems such as loss of connectivity, slow network etc. This paper focus on the comparative study of different packet analyzers available in current market and how we can choose amongst them according to our requirements.
Various Hierarchical Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Network: A Survey
Vandna Sharma,Payal Jain?
International Journal of Computer Science and Mobile Computing , 2013,
Abstract: In a hierarchical architecture, higher energy nodes can be used to process and send theinformation while low energy nodes can be used to perform the sensing in the proximity of the target. Thismeans that creation of clusters and assigning special tasks to cluster heads can greatly contribute to overallsystem scalability, lifetime, and energy efficiency. Hierarchical routing is an efficient way to lower energyconsumption within a cluster and by performing data aggregation and fusion in order to decrease thenumber of transmitted messages to the BS. Hierarchical routing is mainly two-layer routing where one layeris used to select cluster heads and the other layer is used for routing. Numbers of routing, powermanagement, and data dissemination protocols have been specifically designed for WSNs where energyawareness is an essential design issue. The focus has been given to the hierarchical routing protocols whichmight differ depending on the application and network architecture. In this paper we discuss some of thehierarchical routing protocols that give an overview of different hierarchical routing strategies which is usedin WSN and their performance is compared based on metrics such as localization, data aggregation, powerusage.

Abstract: The present paper is concerned with the various ways of doing banking electronically. This paper has been divided into four sections dealing with four aspects of E-banking i.e. ATM, Internet banking , Mobile banking and Credit cards. Paper is basically concerned with the customer aspect of banking searching for customer satisfaction level. This is a comparative study of Public sector bankis, Private sector Indian banks and Private sector foreign banks.
Spatial and Temporal Variability of Soil Moisture  [PDF]

International Journal of Geosciences (IJG) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/ijg.2010.12012
Abstract: The characterization of temporal and spatial variability of soil moisture is highly relevant for understanding the many hydrological processes, to model the processes better and to apply them to conservation planning. Considerable variability in space and time coupled with inadequate and uneven distribution of irrigation water results in uneven yield in an area Spatial and temporal variability highly affect the heterogeneity of soil water, solute transport and leaching of chemicals to ground water. Spatial variability of soil moisture helps in mapping soil properties across the field and variability in irrigation requirement. While the temporal variability of water content and infiltration helps in irrigation management, the temporal correlation structure helps in forecasting next irrigation. Kriging is a geostatistical technique for interpolation that takes into account the spatial auto-correlation of a variable to produce the best linear unbiased estimate. The same has been used for data interpolation for the C. T. A. E. Udaipur India. These interpolated data were plotted against distance to show variability between the krigged value and observed value. The range of krigged soil moisture values was smaller than the observed one. The goal of this study was to map layer-wise soil moisture up to 60 cm depth which is useful for irrigation planning.
Synthesis and Characterization of Biologically Active 10-Membered Tetraazamacrocyclic Complexes of Cr(III), Mn(III), and Fe(III)

International Journal of Inorganic Chemistry , 2009, DOI: 10.1155/2009/824561
Abstract: A new series of macrocyclic complexes of type [M(TML)X]X2; where M = Cr(III), Mn(III), or Fe(III); TML is tetradentate macrocyclic ligand and X = Cl?1, NO3?1, CH3COO?1 for Cr(III), Fe(III), and X = CH3COO?1 for Mn(III) has been synthesized by template condensation of succinyldihydrazide and glyoxal. The complexes have been formulated as [M(TML)X]X2 due to 1:2 electrolytic natures of these complexes as shown by conductivity measurements. The complexes have been characterized with the help of elemental analyses, molar conductance, electronic, infrared, far infrared spectral studies and magnetic susceptibilities. On the basis of these studies, a five-coordinate distorted square-pyramidal geometry, in which two nitrogens and two carbonyl oxygen atoms are suitably placed for coordination toward the metal ion, has been proposed for all the complexes. The complexes were tested for their in vitro antibacterial activity. Some of the complexes showed remarkable antibacterial activities against some selected bacterial strains. The minimum inhibitory concentration shown by these complexes was compared with minimum inhibitory concentration shown by some standard antibiotics like linezolid and cefaclor.
Modelling the Dependence Structure of MUR/USD and MUR/INR Exchange Rates using Copula

International Journal of Economics and Financial Issues , 2012,
Abstract: American Dollar (USD) and Indian Rupee (INR) play an important role in Mauritian economy. It is important to model the pattern of dependence in their co-movement with respect to Mauritian Rupee (MUR), as this may indicate the export-import behavior in Mauritius. However, it is known that distributions of exchange rates are usually non-normal and the use of linear correlation as a dependence measure is inappropriate. Moreover it is quite difficult to obtain the joint distribution of such random variables in order to specify the complete covariance matrix to measure their dependence structure. In this paper, we first identify the marginal distributions of the exchange rates of MUR against USD and INR and then select the best fitting copula model for the bivariate series. It is concluded that both the series are asymmetric and fat-tailed following hyperbolic distribution. Their dependence structure is appropriately modeled by t copula.
