Endodontic diagnosis: evaluation between clinical and histological findings
Lilian Dantas de Góes Silva,Sílvio Albergaria,Paloma Souza Gonalves,Jean Nunes dos Santos
RGO : Revista Gaúcha de Odontologia , 2008,
Abstract: Objective: In this study, the aim was to analyze the histologic alterations in thirty dental pulps and correlate them with the clinical findings to verify agreement between the clinical and histopathologic diagnosis and contribute to knowledge about endodontic diagnosis. Methods: Using the methodology of Oliveira4, the pulpal conditions were clinically classified as normal, reversible pulpitis, pulpitis at the stage of transition, irreversible pulpitis and necrosis. Results: Lack of correlation was observed between the clinical and histopathologic diagnoses in the cases classified as reversible and at the stage of transition, which histologically consisted of irreversible lesions or degenerative alterations. All the cases clinically classified as irreversible corresponded to the histologic diagnoses. Conclusion: It was concluded that the correlation between clinical and histopathologic diagnosis of dental pulp was shown to be controversial, even though the semiotechnique used had been imperative for guidance about the irreversibility of pulpal lesion.

Diagnóstico e tratamento da osteoporose
Souza, Márcio Passini Gonalves de;
Revista Brasileira de Ortopedia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-36162010000300002
Abstract: an article regarding the latest understanding of osteoporosis (op) runs the risk of quickly becoming obsolete due to the fact that research and studies about op today are generating a great amount of interest in researchers, the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industries, governments, and even the who. every orthopedist knows op by its most deleterious effect, the osteoporotic fracture (fxop). op without a fracture does not arouse suspicion because it is a pathology with a nonspecific clinical profile. the fxop has an economic cost (for treatment), a social cost (for its sequelae), and a medical cost (for deaths). many fractures could be avoided by a diagnosis of op prior to the first fracture and, therefore, many temporary and permanent disabilities could be avoided and many lives saved. awareness of the risk factors for osteoporosis raises suspicion and bone densitometry aids diagnosis. treatment should be based on the physiopathology of the disease. likewise, in prevention or in treatment of op, we should reduce the activity of osteoclasts or increase the activity of osteoblasts, or both. treatment that reduces the incidence of fractures by improving bone's geometry and microarchitecture is ideal. newly formed bone tissue must have good cellular and matrix quality as well as normal mineralization, a good ratio of mineralized (mechanically resistant) bone to non-mineralized (flexible) bone, and no accumulated damage. the ideal treatment should have a positive rate of remodeling and fast and lasting therapeutic effects. this effect must be easily detectable. it must be safe.

Abstract: his interpretation of “Ideias íntimas”, a poem from the book Lira dos vinte anos, from álvares de Azevedo, proposes to investigate the elements that give a dramatic course to the text, considering the well-known approximation of the poet to the preface Do grotesco e do sublime, from Victor Hugo, which debates, besides aesthetic categories, the ideal dramatic conception from the romantic point of view, besides the pathos present in the poem and the movement of the character by the house and his feelings for objects. Based on Cilaine Alves’ interpretation which considers the poem as a “miscellaneous poem”, a mixture of literary styles, and on Camilo’s interpretation which considers the text as meditative, our interpretation considers the poem as a revision of many poetic postures and the search of the poet for a unique posture which legitimates the poetry in the XIX century, configuring, in this way, a short “drama”.
Um breve olhar sobre os modelos femino e masculino em ‘Parzival’ de Wolfram von Eschenbach.

Brathair , 2007,
Abstract: Thirteenth Century, the Holy Roman-Germanic Empire, in the princely courts of that time flourishes a gender that has its birthplace in France: the Courtly Epic. Although denying that the French work of Chrétien de Troyes is the actual origin of such gender, Wolfram von Eschenbach writes his Parzival in the same epic fashion. Having gender analysis as its theoretical base, this essay approaches the male and female models presented by the Minnes nger in his work.

Main Results of an Energy Audit in a Milk Processing Industry in Taquara, Southern Brazil  [PDF]

Journal of Power and Energy Engineering (JPEE) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jpee.2018.61003
Abstract: The industrial energy diagnosis presented in this work occurred in a milk product cooperative, from an analysis of energy consumption in the main milk industrialization and a diagnosis of energy end uses of lighting and cooling systems. Almost all stages of milk industrialization are used hot water and steam generated in the boilers. The largest electricity consumption in this sector is by electric motors followed by cooling needed to maintain the quality of milk products. Because energy costs represent a significant portion of the monthly cost of the company, an analysis of the energy costs of the past two years to check the consumption of active and reactive energy and power demand contracted is performed. This paper presents the main results of an energy audit in a milk processing industry in southern Brazil.
