Disponibilidad de materias primas líticas silíceas en el extremo sur del maciso del Deseado: Los casos de La Gruta y Viuda Quenzana (Provincia de Santa Cruz, Argentina)

Abstract: results of studies of siliceous rock availability in two areas of the southern end of the deseado massif (la gruta and viuda quenzana) are presented. variability is compared in scales ranging from ca. 1 to 25 km. the results point to the existence of variability at both scales. the recorded performance is high in both spaces, but siliceous raw materials of excellent and very good quality are more frequent in viuda quenzana, where chalcedony and other siliceus rocks are the most frequent ones. this variability in siliceous rock availability coupled with the frequency of rock shelters and caves (more abundant in viuda quenzana than in la gruta), and the presence of temporary water bodies which have probably varied in relation to rainfall over time must have been important for hunter-gatherers strategies.

Results of studies of siliceous rock availability in two areas of the southern end of the Deseado Massif (La Gruta and Viuda Quenzana) are presented.

Materias primas líticas y cronologías de puntas pedunculadas tipo Fell V entre las cuencas de los ríos Chico -curso inferior y medio- y Santa Cruz (Provincia de Santa Cruz)
Cirigliano,Natalia A.;
La zaranda de ideas , 2011,
Abstract: the aim of this study is to evaluate the raw material variability of archaeological projectile points similar to the ones recovered by bird (1993) in the period v of his cultural sequence. the analyzed area is located between chico and santa cruz rivers (province of santa cruz). in turn, the present work attempts to determine the timing of those projectile points from archaeological researches and historical documentation. as a consequence of this endeavour, the points are located between ca.1000 and 1700 ac, which is prior to the introduction of horses in patagonia. finally, the raw material analysis of these points allowed us to state that east groups had more direct access to the non-local raw materials -such as black obsidian- than people located further west, in the north of lago argentino.
Intolerancia e integración regional
Falero Cirigliano, Alfredo;
Política y cultura , 2004,
Abstract: from a sociological viewpoint, this article addresses intolerance with specific reference to xenophobic attitudes and practices, and it places them within the framework of the construction of social subjectivity. it thus analyzes the idea that this exclusion of the “other” is functional and prospers in a context in which regional integration plans promise free movement for capital but geographical controls on the workforce. after offering a number of examples, it then proposes that any alternative project requires that adequate weight be given to the role played by civil society organizations and the state in constructing another inclusive social subjectivity.
Patrón de poder neoliberal y una alternativa social
Falero Cirigliano, Alfredo;
Política y cultura , 2005,
Abstract: this paper starts out from a consideration of neoliberalism and its consolidation in latin américa as a regional power pattern, meaning a specific setup for and form of accumulation within the center-periphery polarizing reproduction. the expansión and naturalization of social practices that have been subordinated to mercantilism are reviewed from such a perspective, based on two axes: that of ideological construction and its relationship with economic policy, and that of social subjectivity. lastly, two likely scenarios-as derived from the current situation and state of affairs-are reviewed: that of a kind of neoliberalism with a "humane side" or, alternatively, that of a widening of social fractures which would lead to the conformation of another power pattern.
The Standard Model prediction for R_{e/mu}^{(pi,K)}
Cirigliano, Vincenzo;Rosell, Ignasi
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2007, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.99.231801
Abstract: We study the ratios R_{e/mu}^{(P)} = Gamma(P -> e nu [gamma])/Gamma(P -> mu nu [gamma]) (P=pi,K) in Chiral Perturbation Theory to order e^2 p^4. We complement the two-loop effective theory results with a matching calculation of the counterterm, finding R_{e/mu}^{(pi)} = (1.2352 \pm 0.0001)*10^(-4) and R_{e/mu}^{(K)} = (2.477 \pm 0.001)*10^(-5).
pi/K -> e nu branching ratios to O(e^2 p^4) in Chiral Perturbation Theory
Cirigliano, Vincenzo;Rosell, Ignasi
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2007, DOI: 10.1088/1126-6708/2007/10/005
Abstract: We calculate the ratios R_{e/mu}^{(P)} = Gamma(P -> e nu)/Gamma (P -> mu nu) (P=pi,K) in Chiral Perturbation Theory to order e^2 p^4. We complement the one- and two-loop effective theory results with a matching calculation of the local counterterm, performed within the large-$N_C$ expansion. We find R_{e/mu}^{(\pi)} = (1.2352 \pm 0.0001)*10^{-4} and R_{e/mu}^{(K)} = (2.477 \pm 0.001)*10^{-5}, with uncertainty induced by the matching procedure and chiral power counting. Given the sensitivity of upcoming new measurements, our results provide a clean baseline to detect or constrain effects from weak-scale new physics in these rare decays. As a by-product, we also update the theoretical analysis of the individual pi/K -> \ell nu modes.
