Abstract: In IT Business organisations, accessing and maintaining of data plays a vital role. Data disaster will occur due to human prone and natural hazards, so disaster recovery is important for IT business. Virtualization is one of the best technologies for disaster recovery because of high resource utilization, high availability, ease of power management, recovery management and dynamic infrastructure. This study describes some disaster recovery mechanisms in major virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Oracle VM, and Parallel workstation.
Speaker Independent Continuous Speech to Text Converter for Mobile Application

Abstract: An efficient speech to text converter for mobile application is presented in this work. The prime motive is to formulate a system which would give optimum performance in terms of complexity, accuracy, delay and memory requirements for mobile environment. The speech to text converter consists of two stages namely front-end analysis and pattern recognition. The front end analysis involves preprocessing and feature extraction. The traditional voice activity detection algorithms which track only energy cannot successfully identify potential speech from input because the unwanted part of the speech also has some energy and appears to be speech. In the proposed system, VAD that calculates energy of high frequency part separately as zero crossing rate to differentiate noise from speech is used. Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) is used as feature extraction method and Generalized Regression Neural Network is used as recognizer. MFCC provides low word error rate and better feature extraction. Neural Network improves the accuracy. Thus a small database containing all possible syllable pronunciation of the user is sufficient to give recognition accuracy closer to 100%. Thus the proposed technique entertains realization of real time speaker independent applications like mobile phones, PDAs etc.

Abstract: A mathematical modeling of tumor therapy with oncolytic viruses is discussed. The model consists of two coupled, deterministic differential equations allowing for cell reproduction and death, and cell infection. The model is one of the conceptual mathematical models of tumor growth that treat a tumor as a dynamic society of interacting cells. In this paper, we obtain an approximate analytical expression of uninfected and infected cell population by solving the non-linear equations using Homotopy analysis method (HAM). Furthermore, the results are compared with the numerical simulation of the problem using Matlab program. The obtained results are valid for the whole solution domain.
Methods of Battery Charging with Buck Converter Using Soft-Switching Techniques

Abstract: This paper is a detailed study on methods of battery charging with Buck Resonant converter using soft switching techniques like ZVS and ZCS. This study also presents the circuit configuration with the least components to realize a highly efficient solar energy battery charger with a zero-voltage and zero current switching resonant converter. The high-frequency resonant converter has numerous well-known advantages over the traditional hard-switching converters. The most important advantage is that it offers a lower switching loss and a higher power density. Additionally, the soft switching current waveform characterizes a lower electromagnetic interference (EMI). The operating principles and design procedure of the proposed charger with both zero voltage and zero current are thoroughly analyzed. The optimal values of the resonant components are computed by applying the characteristic curve and electric functions derived from the circuit configuration. Finally, a simulation model is implemented for charger circuit designed for a 12-V 4-Ah lead acid battery using zero voltage and zero current switching and MATLAB/SIMULINK software is used as the simulation tool. The proposed dc?dc battery charger has a straightforward structure, low cost, easy control, and high efficiency. Satisfactory performance is obtained from the experimental results.

Surgical procedures, such as deep brain stimulation of the ventral intermediate nucleus of the thalamus, offer treatment for refractory tremor. A Bi-Scheduler Algorithm for Frame Aggregation in IEEE 802.11n

Abstract: IEEE 802.11n mainly aims to provide high throughput, reliability and good security over its other previous standards. The performance of 802.11n is very effective on the saturated traffic through the use of frame aggregation. But this frame aggregation will not effectively function in all scenarios. The main objective of this paper is to improve the throughput of the wireless LAN through effective frame aggregation using scheduler mechanism. The Bi-Scheduler algorithm proposed in this article aims to segregate frames based on their access categories. The outer scheduler separates delay sensitive applications from the incoming burst of multi-part data and also decides whether to apply Aggregated - MAC Service Data Unit (A-MSDU) aggregation technique or to send the data without any aggregation. The inner scheduler schedules the remaining (delay-insensitive, background and best-effort) packets using Aggregated-MAC Protocol Data unit (A-MPDU) aggregation technique

Abstract: Block Truncation Coding (BTC) is a simple and fastlossy image compression technique for digitized gray scale images.In this paper, a novel idea for further reducing the bit rate isintroduced. The BTC and its two other variants, one being theAbsolute Moment Block Truncation Coding (AMBTC) arediscussed and the proposed idea is incorporated in all the threemethods. A bitrate of 2 bpp is achieved in the existing techniques.With the proposed method, a further reduction of .25 bpp isachieved. The results of the proposed method are compared withthat of the normal Block Truncation Coding methods. Theproposed idea works better in terms of both the PSNR and the bpp.

Abstract: This paper is about the study and analysis on the effects of snubber circuits such as RLD, RCD and mixed (RLD+RCD) over the conducted ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE on high frequency power MOSFET. In this paper for various duty cycles separation of conducted EMI is done with the help of LISN circuit. The analysis is done for various duty cycles as 0.5, 0.55 and 0.6 for a switching frequency of 50 KHz using ORCAD PSPICE software. The simulated results are then compared with respect to their duty cycle.

Abstract: This paper discusses the implementation of Load Frequency Control (LFC) in restructured power system using Hybrid Fuzzy controller. The formulation of LFC in open energy market is much more challenging; hence it needs an intelligent controller to adapt the changes imposed by the dynamics of restructured bilateral contracts. Fuzzy Logic Control deals well with uncertainty and indistinctness while Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a well-known optimization tool. Abovementioned techniques are combined and called as Hybrid Fuzzy to improve the dynamic performance of the system. Frequency control of restructured system has been achieved by automatic Membership Function (MF) tuned fuzzy logic controller. The parameters defining membership function has been tuned and updated from time to time using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The robustness of the proposed hybrid fuzzy controller has been compared with conventional fuzzy logic controller using performance measures like overshoot and settling time following a step load perturbation. The motivation for using membership function tuning using PSO is to show the behavior of the controller for a wide range of system parameters and load changes. Error based analysis with parametric uncertainties and load changes is tested on a two-area restructured power system.

Abstract: Performance index based analysis is made to examine and highlight the effective application of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to optimize the Proportional Integral gains for Load Frequency Control (LFC) in a restructured power system that operates under Bilateral based policy scheme. Various Integral Performance Criteria measures are taken as fitness function in PSO and are compared using overshoot, settling time and frequency and tie-line power deviation following a step load perturbation (SLP). The motivation for using different fitness technique in PSO is to show the behavior of the controller for a wide range of system parameters and load changes. Error based analysis with parametric uncertainties and load changes are tested on a two-area restructured power system. The results of the proposed PSO based controller show the better performance compared to the classical Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) tuned PI andFuzzy Rule based PI controller.
