Morbilidad por trastornos del movimiento en la consulta de Neurología Morbidity due to movement disorders in the Neurology Department
Mónica Rodríguez Montalbán,Osiel Gámez Rodríguez,Tania Hernández Silva,Sergio Echavarría Danger
MEDISAN , 2012,
An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study of 175 patients with movement disorders who attended the Neurology Department in "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital was carried out from 2007 to 2010, aimed at describing the morbidity in them. These disorders began during the fifth and sixth decades of life in most of the members of the case material, with a higher frequency of Parkinson disease, the essential tremor and dystonias, and prevalence of the male sex and half-bred skin. The electromyography of the agonistic and antagonistic muscles evidenced the prevalence of the rest tremor and the disorder in the reciprocal inhibition, mainly in the Parkinson disease.

Silva Hernández,Dania;
Revista Cubana de Salud Pública , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0864-34662010000200013
Abstract: some functions of the abstract of a scientific research article were presented in this paper, together with the most frequent problems found. likewise, some historical data on the origin, concept, and types of abstract were provided as well as 15 practical recommendations for its writing. on the basis of these recommendations, a working outline divided into four moments is suggested, with a view to attaining step by step a good abstract, that is to say, a well-written abstract with a content that matches the article. an abstract having these conditions can help to create favourable primary opinions in directors, arbiters, editors and readers about the article, otherwise would cause an unfavorable opinion. it may be stated that the future of a research article depends largely on the quality of its abstract.

Silva,Elizabeth; Hernández,Luis;
Investigación Clínica , 2007,
Abstract: in the present experiments extracellular arginine, glutamate and aspartate were studied in the basolateral nucleus of the amygdala and core of the nucleus accumbens during the formalin test (phase i). a combination of capillary zone electrophoresis with laser induced fluorescence detection and microdialysis in freely moving rats was used. glutamate and arginine significantly increased in the nucleus accumbens after formalin injection; glutamate, arginine and aspartate significantly increased in the basolateral nucleus of the amygdala, after formalin injection. these experiments suggest that rapid neurotransmitters changes observed in the nucleus accumbens and amygdala, are possibly related to immobility and emotional states such as anxiety, aversion and/or depression caused by pain.

Natural Science (NS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2015.79045
Abstract: Trophi is only found in rotifers. The trophi has been used as a tool to identify species as well as an instrument for reconstructing the phylogeny of the organism, morphometric analysis, etc. Twelve species of rotifers of the genus Brachionus Pallas, 1766 were collected from different regions of the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico. An ultra-structure analysis was performed to examine the structural composition of the trophi of each species using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The SEM observations show significant differences in the structural composition of each species, with the most considerable differences found in the trophi of B. budapestinensis.

Revista Cubana de Oftalmolog?-a , 2012,
Abstract: leber′s hereditary optic neuropathy is a maternally inherited disease characterized by subacute, painless and bilateral loss of the central vision, although not always at the same time. it predominates in young men and is caused by mitochondrial dna spot mutations. this is one of the most common hereditary and highly disabling optic neuropathy, the precise diagnosis of which is based on the molecular studies. the purpose of this article was to alert specialists on the possible diagnosis and increase of this impairment under favorable environmental conditions. a computerized search of scientific articles related to the subject was made in hinari and pubmed, which resulted in 37 publications during the years 1988 through 2010. several disease aspects such as historical background, risk factors, epidemiology, genetics, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment were studied and discussed, in addition to delving into current status of the disease in our country. several cuban families are presently known to be affected by leber′s hereditary optic neuropathy. the rise of incidence was probably due to environmental conditions that favor or are risk factors for this entity, as occurred during the last epidemic of optic neuropathy in cuba. every day there are more advances in the field of genetics that allows identifying a higher number of mutations associated with this disease. this event together with advanced knowledge of its clinical features has made it possible to identify the affected families and to control the risk factors.
