Morbilidad por trastornos del movimiento en la consulta de Neurología Morbidity due to movement disorders in the Neurology Department
Mónica Rodríguez Montalbán,Osiel Gámez Rodríguez,Tania Hernández Silva,Sergio Echavarría Danger
MEDISAN , 2012,
An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study of 175 patients with movement disorders who attended the Neurology Department in "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital was carried out from 2007 to 2010, aimed at describing the morbidity in them. These disorders began during the fifth and sixth decades of life in most of the members of the case material, with a higher frequency of Parkinson disease, the essential tremor and dystonias, and prevalence of the male sex and half-bred skin. The electromyography of the agonistic and antagonistic muscles evidenced the prevalence of the rest tremor and the disorder in the reciprocal inhibition, mainly in the Parkinson disease.

Rodríguez Gómez, Roberto;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302004000300019
Abstract: this paper discusses the impact of transnationalisation on mexican higher education system in four steps: first, it examines the mexican government position about the global international trade. second, it exposes the general mexican position about the educative transnationalisation. third, it refers the mexican legal frame about direct foreign investment in education. fourth, it displays data about the volume of direct foreign investment in the mexican educative sector. finally, the attention turns to a specific case of transnationalisation: the presence of a partnership between sylvan learning systems and the university of the valley of mexico, private institution that offers education of baccalaureate, degree and postdegree.
Rodríguez Gómez, Grisell;
Revista Brasileira de Estudos de Popula??o , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-30982012000100004
Abstract: the relevance and validity of incorporating qualitative methodological approach to demographic research are the subject of this paper. we begin with a review of the epistemological and methodological concepts for approaching the study of populations based on demography, thus reviewing demographic science's object of study. we then present a brief history of population evolution and the major theories that followed, described and explained this process. thus, we bring elements that validate the emergence of the qualitative to the various questions within this science. taking, as an example, the fertility variable as an object of study, we propose a theoretical approach to delineate three levels: the macrosocial level, where society is; the individual level; and, between these two extremes, an intermediate level, which could be called the mesosocial instance, by which we arrive at the impact of the social on individuals and their behaviors, thus validating the relevance of qualitative and mixed approaches to explain reproductive behaviors. finally, we conclude that the qualitative epistemological positioning offers tools and a constructive modus operandi and can contribute to the explanatory, predictive, and propositional roles of the demographic science.
Rodríguez Gómez,Grisell;
Revista Cubana de Salud Pública , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0864-34662008000100011
Abstract: fertility in cuba has had historically low levels, particularly since 1978 when fertility levels began declining in a permanent way. since 1970, the fertility pattern has been characterized by a markedly early structure, mainly adolescent fertility. from 1990 to 2005, the declining level was kept whereas the structure or pattern tended to vary. as a result two behaviors were observed: firstly, a tendency to marked decrease from 1990 to 1995 and secondly, certain fluctuations with a tendency to stability till 2005. the highest fertility decrease occurred in the period from 1990 to 1996. on the other hand, the fertility pattern showed a higher prevalence of older age groups over 30 years and lower incidence of teenagers (except for pregnancies). the fertility levels kept slightly higher in non-working women and in countryside residents, and besides, it was observed that although education was pretty homogeneous, women graduated from the university exhibited higher fertility levels. likewise, the fertility behavior was assessed in the various regions of the country, noting that there were differences in terms of structure and level.
Rodríguez Gómez, Roberto;
Revista electrónica de investigación educativa , 2009,
Abstract: this essay proposes to explore the features of the migration phenomenon of highly-qualified personnel from mexico to the united states. to this end it analyzes, principally, two sources of information: first, data from the u.s. census bureau's ongoing survey of households, the american community survey. this data identifies the features of the sociodemographic and educational profile of mexicans residing in the united states of america, and compares it with the data for the native population and for the subset of foreign, non-mexican residents in that country. work with survey microdata makes it possible to provide accurate figures for population volume in various relevant categories: schooling, occupation and income. by observing these data we attempt to learn the conditions of the most highly-educated group within the contingent of mexican migrants. the second source of information, which permits a view from a complementary angle, is derived from the statistics contained in temporary-resident visas obtained by mexicans. this part of the text studies the particular action of three types of visas: h1b work permits for highly qualified personnel; tn visas, granted to professionals within the framework of the north american free trade agreement (nafta); and finally, the f and j visas, issued to students and scholars. using the results of both approaches, we review the scale and significance of the migration of highly-skilled human resources from mexico to the united states.
Educación, desarrollo y democracia en América Latina. Un Balance de los noventa.
Roberto Rodríguez Gómez
Perfiles educativos , 2001,
