Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca , 2011,
Abstract: Effect of foliar application of KNO3 on growth and the activity of nitrate reductase were studied in the leaves of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) and safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) plants growing under different levels of salinity. The seeds were sown in pots under non saline condition and saline water irrigation was started at three leaf stage after germination. Different concentration of saline water (i.e. 0.3% and 0.6%, equivalent to an EC of 4.8 and 8.6 dS/m respectively) were made by dissolving sea salt per litre of tap water. Nutrient solution of KNO3 was sprayed at the rate of 250 ppm. The concentration of Na+ and Cl- rapidly increased in the leaves of both the plants under salinity stress. In contrast the nitrate (NO3-) and soluble protein concentration were decreased with the increasing salinity. Salinity reduced leaf area, its fresh and dry weight per plant and also inhibited the activity of Nitrate reductase (NRA) enzyme. The application of KNO3 significantly reduced the increasing tendency of Na+ and Cl- and increased leaf area, its fresh and dry weight per plant, NO3- and soluble protein concentration and NR activity in leaves irrespective to the growth of plant under non saline or saline conditions.

Nusrat Jabeen,Sheikh Ajaz Rasool,Samia Ahmad,Munazza Ajaz
Pakistan Journal of Biological Sciences , 2004,
Abstract: Five phytopathogenic strains namely, Xanthomonas oryzae NA1, Xanthomonas citri NA2, Pseudomonas andropogonis NA3, Erwinia carotovora NA4 (isolated from diseased fruits and vegetables) and Agrobacterium radiobacter NA5 (isolated from pepper rhizophere) were identified on morpho-cultural and biochemical considerations. API 20 E and API 20 NE kits were used to confirm the identification. All isolates were screened for bacteriocinogenic activity against phytopathogenic bacteria. Accordingly, only two strains i.e. Erwinia carotovora NA4, Agrobacterium radiobacter NA5 were found to produce bacteriocin. These bacteriocins are designated as erwiniocin NA4, agrocin NA5, respectively. Both the producer strains have shown antibacterial activity against closely related strains. The activity potential of erwiniocin NA4 was calculated as 160AU mL-1 while that of agrocin NA5 was 80AU mL-1. The effect of temperature variation and pH on erwiniocin NA4 and agrocin NA5 was also checked and both were found activity resistant at 100 C for 10 min and pH range 2-14. Erwiniocin NA4 was also found resistant to autoclaving while bioactivity of agrocin NA5 was lost after similar treatment.

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/am.2013.49176
Abstract:

In this work, we investigate one class of Volterra type integral equation, in model case, when kernels have first order fixed singularity and logarithmic singularity. In detail study the case, when n = 3. In depend of the signs parameters solution to this integral equation can contain three arbitrary constants, two arbitrary constants, one constant and may have unique solution. In the case when general solution of integral equation contains arbitrary constants, we stand and investigate different boundary value problems, when conditions are given in singular point. Besides for considered integral equation, the solution found cane represented in generalized power series. Some results obtained in the general model case.

Health Facilities in Balochistan
Tahira Jabeen
Journal of Applied Sciences , 2001,
Abstract: The good health facilities are considered to be the important indicator of development. If a country is lacks in having necessary health facilities. It cannot claim for development. By health facilities we mean all those facilities necessary to maintain health & protect it again disease. These facilities may be available for the people in the form of hospitals, dispensaries, qualified doctors and nurses, proper medicines & necessary equipment to run hospitals. It is a fact that economic development cannot takes place without development of health sector. A sick nation cannot be expected to participate in production process efficiently. whether a nation is suffering from physical disabilities or mental worries in both cases, it has deteriorated effects on economy. In developed countries, the development of health sector is the main contribution factor to their progress while on the contrary, the health sector is quite back ward specially in less developed countries, like Pakistan (where the health care system is lead astray. It is ill planned, poorly organized and inefficiently run) According to the country’s constitutional implementations of health care is a provincial function. The federal government is mainly concerned with the formulation of National Health Policy, Co-ordination of Provincial Health Services & Health Training Standards. Due to financial constraints & shortage of qualified female manpower, the Public Sector could not fully manage to provide health care to all citizens especially of rural areas. However, health care facilities rapidly expanded in urban areas in the private sector. A Governments main commitments has been to achieve the goal of "Health for all" through Primary health care. So the public expenditure in health sector has gradually increased from 0.4% of GNP in 1960s to 0.7 to 0.8% in 1990s.
Feminism and Society: Solidarity Amongst Pakistani Women Still a Distant Dream
Dr. Farhat Jabeen,Musarat Jabeen
Journal of Arts and Humanities , 2013,
Abstract: This paper envisages feminism in a south Asian gender development particularly in Pakistan. Law is the manifestation of principles of justice, equity and good conscience. As’ Gender’ has been taken up in development policy and practices, have been created that have emphasized some aspects of feminist agendas, and pushed others out of the frame. Research paper gives an overview of women in Pakistan are victimized of gender biases begin from the very first institution home. They are facing challenges in claiming their rights of inheritance owing to customary practices, lacunae in the prevailing legal framework and procedure. Patriarchal structure of society, socio-customary practices and discrimination against women are very serious concerns/issues which need to be understood as multidimensional problem. This paper examines the role of feminism on gender development in south Asian perspective especially in Pakistan. Pakistani women seem to have been circumscribed in bounds of religious, cultural and national ideologies as envisioned by the patriarchy of Pakistan. Due to certain cultural, male domination state of affairs the solidarity amongst Pakistani women still distant dream. Current research paper would draw attention to issue mentioned above.
“A STUDY OF MORAL VALUES AMONG PRIMARY LEVEL STUDENTS WITH RESPECT TO EDUCATION LEVEL OF PARENTS”
NUSRAT BEGUM
Golden Research Thoughts , 2013, DOI: 10.9780/22315063
Abstract: The moral crisis being faced by every nation at present arises out of unwise, materialistic and undisciplined application of human faculties. Education along with the family and the society could prepare every generation to make the correct and appropriate choice. It is well understood that education of parents and greater participation of parents in higher education is the road that every nation must tread at primary stage of children for inculcation of values and morals. Hence the study is conducted with the objective: To study the impact of the education of parents on moral values of their children studying at primary level. It was hypothesized that there is no significant impact of the education of parents on the moral values of their children. Survey is conducted in primary schools of Akola city regarding the moral values of the primary level students with respect to education of their parents, stratified random sampling methods are used for sample selection, a total of 200 students sample were selected for different categories of parent's education level. The data collected was analyzed with the help of statistical techniques such as mean, SD, Anova and t test. It is that education of parents has positive impact on moral values of their children at primary level. Moral values of primary level children of highly qualified parents are significantly higher than moral values of primary level children of lower level educated parents. mothers level of education has greater impact on moral values of primary level children than fathers level of education.

The Professional Medical Journal , 2000,
Abstract: Carbon tetra chloride is a reference hepatotoxic compound, which is oxidized into highly reactive and toxicfree radicals in the body. These free radicals cause hepatic damage by hydropic and fatty degeneration.OBJECTIVES: Objective was to study the chronological pattern of hepatic injury induced by free radicalsand the process of auto recovery in male albino rats. It was prospective, interventional and observational study.Twenty four adult male albino rats were divided in two groups, A control (12) and B experimental (12). GroupB was administered carbon tetra chloride (0.05 mg/100 g body weight) as a single intraperitoneal dose. Theanimals were sacrificed by decapitation at 4 hours, 1,2,3,4 and 8th day after the intoxication. Morphologicaland histological changes were observed in liver on gross and light microscopic examination. Routine andspecial stains were employed. CONCLUSION: The first minimal histological effect was observed with in4 hours of introduction of carbon tetra chloride. The maximum fatty changes were observed in 48 hours, whichcontinued till 96 hours. The improvement in fatty changes began after 96 hours and normalization took morethan 8 days.

Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2012.512B034
Abstract: Every term has a meaning but there are terms which have multiple meanings. Identifying the correct meaning of a term in a specific context is the goal of Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) applications. Identifying the correct sense of a term given a limited context is even harder. This research aims at solving the problem of identifying the correct sense of a term given only one term as its context. The main focus of this research is on using Wikipedia as the external knowledge source to decipher the true meaning of each term using a single term as the context. We experimented with the semantically rich Wikipedia senses and hyperlinks for context disambiguation. We also analyzed the effect of sense filtering on context extraction and found it quite effective for contextual disambiguation. Results have shown that disambiguation with filtering works quite well on manually disambiguated dataset with the performance accuracy of 86%.

Journal of Water Resource and Protection (JWARP) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jwarp.2015.717125
Abstract: In an era of unprecedented urbanization, population and industrial growth pressure is serious threat for the water management in Pakistan in present days. Water pollution from raw sewage, industrial wastes, and agricultural runoff limited natural fresh water resources in the country. Human health is facing serious problems due to deteriorating drinking water quality. Current review paper provides an insight to the water quality problems in Pakistan with an attempt to emphasize the challenges of water laws enforcement. Although Pakistan has developed many water laws the state of implementation is dominant, intermediate pollution crises are still remaining. We could come to the conclusion that strictly enforcement is compulsory for water environment regulations in Pakistan. Moreover, it is necessary to establish a reliable risk assessment system for water quality, human health and ecological safety.
