Influence of hydro-meteorological factors on the work of port complexes of the astrakhan region

Abstract: Unsteadiness of climatic and hydrological factors badly influences the work of port complexes of the Astrakhan region, on the activity of all branches of the national economy of the whole North-Caspian region. It causes significant additional material expenses, both in warm and cold seasons. The results of eco-nomic, management and other decisions, taken on the grounds of hydro-meteorological information, are expressed not only by economic, but also social, ecological, organizing, scientific and technological effect, and it is particularly actual during the current financial-economic crisis.
Aplanatic and Telescopic Lens with a Radial Gradient of Refraction Index  [PDF]

Abstract:

It is shown that aplanatic lens with a radial gradient of refraction index is simultaneously a telescopic lens, notably not only for an axial beam, but also for an off axis parallel beam. Consideration is carried out by an algebraic way on the basis of regularities of ray paths. It is also shown that aplanatic and telescopic properties of the lens are independent of the refracting surface shapes. Various versions of lens performance are shown below.

Generalisations of the Camassa-Holm equation

Abstract: We classify generalised Camassa-Holm type equations which possess infinite hierarchies of higher symmetries. We show that the obtained equations can be treated as negative flows of integrable quasi-linear scalar evolution equations of orders 2, 3 and 5. We present the corresponding Lax representations or linearisation transformations for these equations. Some of the obtained equations seem to be new.

Abstract: The mathematical model of the complex hull – engine of the ship with paddle wheels is proposed. The ship has no conventional control devices (steering wheel or nozzles) and the change in magnitude and direction of thrust is carried out by changing the ratio of the speed and direction of rotation of paddle wheels, with independent drive. The system of equations describing the dynamics of the complex hull – engine of the ship is presented. The results of the simulation are given.
Engineering mechanics in educational programmes in the sphere of shipbuilding and ocean-technologies: review and current state

Abstract: A historical analysis of mechanics formation as a science since the late 17th century is given in the paper. The first half of the 18th century is notable for the recognition of Newtonian mechanics, the origin of the Russian science and higher education. The end of 19th century is marked by the quantity-increasing effect of technical colleges; and engineering mechanics was singled out as a science and as an academic discipline. Great services of L. Euler,A. N. Krylov, in the application of mechanics to shipbuilding are mentioned, and in engineering mechanics – N. E. Zhukovsky. The role of the Scientific and Me-thodical Council of engineering mechanics at the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, established in 1964, is shown. The objective of this institute is to settle down the questions about the unification of curricula, and exchange of experience of teaching the course of engineering mechanics in institutes of higher education. Problems in the teaching of engineering mechanics, which must be solved in the nearest future in connection with the forthcoming turn to new government educational standards of the third generation, including the direction of "Shipbuilding, ocean technologies, systems engineering of sea infrastructure objects", are stated.

Abstract: The aim was to study the suitability of the heart rate variability (HRV) spectral parameters for evaluations of bicycle ergometry results in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients. Methods. Our study included 243 male CHD patients aged 49±8 years. The coronary atherosclerosis was assessed by coronary angiography. The results of bicycle ergometry, Doppler echocardio-graphy and HRV spectral analysis were also analyzed. The duration of each stage of bicycle ergometry was 3 min, the initial load value was 25 W. Dynamic load continued until the patient had reached 75% of heart rate from his maximal age level. The maximal level of load achieved (i.e. load tolerance) was taken into consideration. We calculated sensitivity (Se), specificity (Sp), likelihood ratios of positive (LR+) and negative (LR-) bicycle ergometry results. Results. All patients had similar clinical characteristics. LR+ become maximal under the moderate load tolerance. LR- are maximal in the CHD patients with high load tolerance. Thus, the excessiveness of false-negative results of bicycle ergometry is in CHD patients with high load tolerance. Reliability of results of bicycle ergometry increased under using assessments of low-frequency (LF) range power of HRV spectrum. Conclusions. Thus,the using of LF range power of HRV spectrum increases reliability of bicycle ergometry (or other load tests) results in CHD patients.

Abstract: Control of the vessel with paddle wheels in the absence of traditional steering only by changing the rotational speed of paddle wheels is very difficult for the skipper. It requires automation of keeping the ship on course. One of the solutions to this problem is demonstrated. The synthesis of the control algorithm is given.

Abstract: The polarization tomography problem consists of recovering a matrix function f from the fundamental matrix of the equation $D\eta/dt=\pi_{\dot\gamma}f\eta$ known for every geodesic $\gamma$ of a given Riemannian metric. Here $\pi_{\dot\gamma}$ is the orthogonal projection onto the hyperplan $\dot\gamma^{\perp}$. The problem arises in optical tomography of slightly anisotropic media. The local uniqueness theorem is proved: a $C^1$- small function f can be recovered from the data uniquely up to a natural obstruction. A partial global result is obtained in the case of the Euclidean metric on $R^3$.
On Classification of Integrable Davey-Stewartson Type Equations

Abstract: This paper is devoted to the classification of integrable Davey-Stewartson type equations. A list of potentially deformable dispersionless systems is obtained through the requirement that such systems must be generated by a polynomial dispersionless Lax pair. A perturbative approach based on the method of hydrodynamic reductions is employed to recover the integrable systems along with their Lax pairs. Some of the found systems seem to be new.
