Research on the Relationship of Media Attention, Stock Liquidity and Stock Price Informativeness: Based on the Data of Listed Company on GEM of China  [PDF]

Abstract: GEM stocks are more susceptible to the attention of news media because of their liquidity and high risk characteristics. This paper uses Baidu News search and the data of companies listed on GEM from 2009 to 2015 to investigate the impact of media attention and stock liquidity on stock price information content respectively and the impact of stock liquidity on the relationship between media attention and stock liquidity. The results show that with the number of media news coverage increasing and stock liquidity accelerating, stock information content will also be improved; further studies find that with the acceleration of stock liquidity, liquidity weakens the positive relationship between media attention and shares information content.
Passive optical switching of photon pairs using a spontaneous parametric fiber loop

Abstract: We study a novel scheme named spontaneous parametric fiber loop (SPFL), configured by deliberately intro- ducing dispersive elements into the nonlinear Sagnac loop, and show it can function as a passive switch of photon pairs. The two-photon state coming out of SPFL highly depends on the dispersion induced phase difference of photon pairs counter-propagating in the loop. By properly managing the dispersive elements, the signal and idler photons of a pair with a certain detuning and bandwidth can be directed to the desired spatial modes of SPFL. If the photon pairs are used to generate heralded single photons, the SPFL can be viewed as a switch of single photons. Moreover, our investigation about the dispersion based phase modulation is also beneficial for designing all fiber sources of entangled photon pairs.
Spectral properties of photon pairs generated by spontaneous four wave mixing in inhomogeneous photonic crystal fibers

Abstract: The photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is one of the excellent media for generating photon pairs via spontaneous four wave mixing. Here we study how the inhomogeneity of PCFs affect the spectral properties of photon pairs from both the theoretical and experimental aspects. The theoretical model shows that the photon pairs born in different place of the inhomogeneous PCF are coherently superposed, and a modulation in the broadened spectrum of phase matching function will appear, which prevents the realization of spectral factorable photon pairs. In particular, the inhomogeneity induced modulation can be examined by measuring the spectrum of individual signal or idler field when the asymmetric group velocity matching is approximately fulfilled. Our experiments are performed by tailoring the spectrum of pulsed pump to satisfy the specified phase matching condition. The observed spectra of individual signal photons, which are produced from different segments of the 1.9 m inhomogeneous PCF, agree with the theoretical predictions. The investigations are not only useful for fiber based quantum state engineering, but also provide a dependable method to test the homogeneity of PCF.

Abstract:
This article mainly studies the internationalization process of the Uniqlo, a fast-fashion brand of Japan Fast Retailing Group, and summarizes its successful experience in product positioning, strategic positioning, SPA business model, and Internet plus marketing and etc, at the same time, it analyses the weaknesses of Chinese fast fashion brands. In order to improve their international competitiveness, these brands must do the following: attaching importance to product R & D and design, strictly controlling product quality, strengthening self-brand building, improving supply chain management system, expanding sales channels and establishing Customer Service Center and so on.
Aberrant Expression of Clock Gene Period1 and Its Correlations with the Growth, Proliferation and Metastasis of Buccal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Abstract: Period1 (PER1) is an important core clock gene, which regulates normal cell proliferations and physiological rhythms of human beings. Recent studies have showed aberrant expressions and altered rhythms of PER1 were highly correlated to the carcinogenesis and development of malignant tumors. However, there is no study on the correlation of aberrant expressions and altered rhythms of PER1 with the growth, proliferation and metastasis of buccal squamous cell carcinoma (BSCC). In this study, PER1 and MMP-2 expression in the cancerous and adjacent noncancerous tissues of 38 patients with BSCC and its correlations with patients' clinical pathologic characteristics were investigated. A mouse model of BSCC was also established and mice were sacrificed at 4 different time points in a period of 24 hours. Xenografted tumor weight, proliferation index (PI), and mitotic index (MI) of tumors in the 4 time groups were detected. Results showed that PER1 expression was significantly down-regulated in cancerous tissues of patients with BSCC (P<0.05). PER1 expression was significantly down-regulated in patients of T3~T4 staging and those with lymph node metastasis compared to that of T1~T2 staging and those without lymph node metastasis (P<0.05), respectively. PER1 mRNA expression, MI and tumor weight had significant differences among the 4 time groups, which PI all confirmed to circadian rhythms. MI, PI, MMP-2 mRNA and tumor weight had negative correlation with PER1 mRNA expression. Peak value of PER1 mRNA expression and trough values of MI, PI and tumor weight all appeared in middle activity phase, whereas trough value of PER1 mRNA expression and peak values of MI, PI and tumor weight all occurred in middle rest phase. Our study suggested that aberrant expression of PER1 had significant correlation with the growth, proliferation and metastasis of BSCC and it might act as an anti-oncogene.

Abstract: The effects of the interactions between bi-directional pedestrians on the crossing time and the crosswalk width are studied. Firstly, the crossing process of bi-directional pedestrians is analyzed. The total crosswalk time is divided into a discharge time and a crossing time. The interactions between bi-directional pedestrians are quantified with the drag force theory. Then, a model is developed to study the crossing time based on the kinetic energy theory and momentum theory. Subsequently, the related parameters of the proposed model are calibrated with observed information. The relationships among crosswalk width, signal time, pedestrian volume and level of service are simulated with the proposed model. The results are verified and compared with other models. The proposed model has an absolute value of relative error of 9.38%, which is smaller than that of the Alhajyaseen model (15.26%) and Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) model (12.42%). Finally, suggested crosswalk widths at different conditions are successfully estimated with the proposed crossing time model.

Abstract: LPI is optimal in the sense of local manifold structure. However, LPI is not efficient in time and memory, which makes it difficult to be applied to very large data set. Therefore, an optimal algorithm called FLPI was proposed. FLPI decomposed the LPI problem into a graph embedding problem plus a regularized least squares problem. Such modification avoids eigen decomposition of dense matrices and can significantly reduce both time and memory cost in computation. Moreover, with a specifically designed graph in supervised situation, LPI only needs to solve the regularized least squares problem which is a further saving of time and memory. Experimental results on real data show that FLPI obtains similar or better results compared to LPI and it is significantly faster.
Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy with Original Chemotherapy Regimens may not be Suitable for Patients Who Failed to Respond to Induction Chemotherapy?in Limited-stage Small Cell Lung Cancer

Abstract: Background and objective The group of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) are usually highly sensitive to chemotherapy, and less than 15% of them are resistant to drugs. We respectively evaluate the correlation of the sequence and timing of radiotherapy with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with limited-stage SCLC (LS-SCLC), and to figure out whether concurrent chemoradiotherapy is superior to sequent chemoradiotherapy. Methods Sixty-seven patients diagnosed with LS-SCLC from January 2009 to June 2014 failed to respond to induction chemotherapy. According to the sequence of therapy, they were divided into concurrent chemoradiotherapy group (n=32) and sequent chemoradiotherapy group (n=35). Ninety-four percent of the patients were diagnosed with stage III, and six percent were stage Ib-IIb. Twenty-five patients were treated with prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI). The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate survival time and Log-rank test was used for between-group comparisons. Between-group comparison of categorical data was made by χ2 test. Results In all patients, the 2-year OS, PFS and LC rates were 53.7%, 20.9% and 58.2%. The 2-year OS and PFS rates of concurrent chemoradiotherapy group and sequent chemoradiotherapy were 37.5% vs 54.3% (P=0.048) and 12.5% vs 28.6% (P=0.149). Hematologic toxicities were more common in concurrent group than sequent one (P=0.031), and no statistical difference was observed between the two groups in terms of grade 3 radiation esophagitis, pneumonitis and gastrointestinal reactions (9.4% vs 0, P=0.176; 12.5% vs 2.9%, P=0.318; 12.5% vs 2.9%, P=0.109). Patients treated with PCI have superior OS and PFS comparing with those not (56.0% vs 38.1%, P=0.029; 24% vs 19%, P=0.012). Conclusion Concurrent chemoradiotherapy with original chemotherapy regimens may not be suitable for patients who failed to respond to induction chemotherapy in LS-SCLC, and second-line regimens or radiotherapy alone can be used for them, but prospective trils with large sample are still needed to confirm that.
