DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY OF MOTOR DISTURBANCES IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISM

Abstract: The paper reveals uncommonly examined aspects concerning the specifics of the motor de-velopment in the children with autistic spectrum disorders and the problems regarding their diagnostics and the-ra-py. An analytical theory of the autistic disorders is des-cribed, connecting autism with disorders in the ba-sic levels of affective behavioral regulation. The re-port in-cludes a classification of the groups of autis-tic children, each of which demonstrates spe-ci-fic motor dysfunctions. Furthermore, the paper ana-ly-zes and recommends methodo-lo-gi-cal approaches to motor therapy which will help improve the de-ve-lop-ment of different motor skills.
Shell Size of the Freshwater Snail Physella acuta (Draparnaud, 1805) Collected from Water Vegetation: A Case Study from South-East Bulgaria

Abstract: The specimens of the freshwater snail Physella acuta collected from Southeastern part of Bulgaria during the cold period as a whole were with mean shell height of 5.7 mm. During spring and summer it was more than twice lower, 2.3 mm. The ratio of the size groups was more equally spread during cold seasons rather than in warm ones. The variation index during cold seasons is about eight times higher than in the warm ones (Var = 3.96 and 0.58, respectively). On both plant species the gastropods had similar mean shell heights. For C. demersum it was 4.8 mm (min-max = 2.5-8.9 mm), and for E. canadensis 7.2 mm (min-max = 3.6-10.0 mm).

Abstract: The specimens of the freshwater snail Radix auricularia collected from Southeastern part of Bulgaria during the cold period as a whole were with mean shell height of 3.7 mm. During spring and summer it was similar, 3.3 mm. The ratio of the size groups was more equally spread during cold seasons rather than in warm ones. The variation index during cold seasons is about seven times higher than in the warm ones (Var = 13.1 and 2.14, respectively). On the five plant species the gastropods had different mean shell heights. For C. demersum it was 3.4 mm (min-max = 1.4-15.8 mm), and for E. canadensis 7.9 mm (min-max = 2.4-14.6 mm), M. spicatum it was 2.8 (min-max = 2.4-3.4 mm), P. natans 3.9 (min-max = 1.1-9.0), P. pusillus 4.8 (min-max = 3.1-8.2).

Study on Productivity of some Legume Crops in Pure Cultivation and Mixtures

Abstract: In the conditions of pot trial the productivity of birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.) cv. ‘Targovishte’ 1”; sainfoin (Onobrychis Adans.) breeding N26, white clover (Тrifolium repens L.) cv. ‘Milka’, and subclover (Trifolim subterraneum ssp. brachycalicinum) cv. ‘Clear’, in pure cultivation and in mixtures was studied. The treatments were as follows: 1. birdsfoot trefoil 100%; 2. sainfoin 100%; 3. white clover 100%; 4. subclover 100%; 5. cocksfoot 100%; 6. birdsfoot trefoil+cocksfoot; 7. sainfoin+cocksfoot 8. white clover+cocksfoot; 9. subclover+cocksfoot; 10. birdsfoot trefoil+ subclover; 11. sainfoin+subclover; 12. white clover+subclover. The ratio between components in the mixtures was 50:50. Cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata L.) cv. ‘Dabrava’ as a grass component was used. It was found, that aboveground dry matter yield of white clover, birdsfoot trefoil, sainfoin and subclover in mixture with cocksfoot was higher as compared to these in pure cultivation. Subclover in mixture with birdsfoot trefoil increased aboveground dry matter yield, but in mixture with sainfoin and white clover did not contribute to increase of their productivity.
Study of the transgalactosylation activity of -galactosidase from a new strain Kluyveromyces lactis 3

Abstract: Beta-galactosidase (EC.3.2.1.23) is an important enzyme industrially used for the hydrolysis of lactose from milk and milk whey for several applications. Lately, the importance of this enzyme was enhanced by its galactosyltransferase activity, which is responsible for synthesis of transgalactosylated oligosaccharides that act as prebiotics with several beneficial effects on the consumers. -Galactosidase production by Kluyveromyces lactis 3 was studied in shake flask culture. The highest enzymatic activity was obtained at 10-th hour of the fermentation. The optimum temperature for transferase activity was 50°C. When incubated with 30% lactose in 50 mM phosphate buffer (pH 6.0) the enzyme can synthesize up to 41% galacto-oligosaccharides (GalOS). β-Galactosidase from strain Kluyveromyces lactis 3 produces mainly oligosaccharides with degree of polymerization (DP) 6 at 40°C and with DP 3 at 50°C.
Enzymatic production of glucooligosaccharides using dextransucrases from strains Leuconostoc mesenteroides Lm 22 and Leuconostoc mesenteroides Lm 28

Abstract: Dextransucrases are enzymes that transfer the glucosyl moiety from sucrose to other acceptor molecules. In the present study, we have investigated the biosynthesis of dextransucrases by two strains of Leuconostoc mesenteroides isolated from Bulgarian fermented products. Extracellular dextransucrase activities of 10.80 U/ml for strain Lm 28 and 9.6 U/ml for strain Lm 22 were measured in a batch culture. The SDS-PAGE analysis showed that the molecular weight of the dextransucrases isolated from both strains was 180 kDa. Enzymes of the studied strains were found to efficiently transfer the glucosyl moiety of sucrose onto maltose acceptor. By increasing the sucrose/maltose ratio, it was possible to catalyze the synthesis of oligosaccharides of increasing degree of polymerization.
Light Curve Solutions of Ten Eccentric Kepler Binaries, Three of them with Tidally Induced Humps

Abstract: We carried out light curve solutions of ten detached eclipsing eccentric binaries observed by Kepler. The formal errors of the derived parameters from the light curve solutions are below 1%. Our results give indications that the components of the eccentric binaries (especially those with mass ratios below 0.5) do not follow precisely the empirical relations between the stellar parameters derived from the study of circular-orbit binaries. We found the following peculiarities of the targets: (a) the components of KIC 9474969 have almost the same temperatures while their radii and masses differ by a factor around 2.5; (b) KIC 6949550 reveals semi-regular light variations with an amplitude of 0.004 and a period around 7 d which are modulated by long-term variations; (c) KIC 6220470, KIC 11071207, and KIC 9474969 exhibit tidally induced 'hump' around the periastron. These are the targets with the biggest relative radii of our sample. We derived the dependence of the hump amplitude on the relative stellar radii, eccentricity, and mass ratio of eccentric binary consisting of MS stars.
Light curve solutions of the eccentric Kepler binaries KIC 11619964 and KIC 7118545 and mid-eclipse brightening of KIC 11619964

Abstract: We carried out light curve solutions of two eclipsing detached binaries on eccentric orbits observed by Kepler. The orbits and fundamental parameters of KIC 11619964 and KIC 7118545 were determined with a high accuracy by modeling of their photometric data. We found that the temperatures of their components differ by around 2000 K while the radii of their secondaries are more than twice smaller than those of the primaries. We detected a strange "brightening" of KIC 11619964 in the narrow phase range (+-0.0005) around the center of the primary eclipse reaching to 0.018 mag in amplitude. This "mid-eclipse brightening" needs follow-up observations with good time resolution.
Application of Isotope Dilution Mass Spectrometry for Reference Measurements of Cadmium. Copper, Mercury, Lead, Zinc and Methyl Mercury in Marine Sediment Sample

Abstract: Marine sediment was selected as a test sample for the laboratory inter-comparison studies organized by the Environment Laboratoryes of the International Atomic Energy. The analytical procedure to establish the reference values for the Cd, Cu, Hg, Methyl Hg, Pb and Zn amount contents was based on Isotope Dilution Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ID ICP-MS applied as a primary method of measurement..The Hg and Methyl Hg determination will be detailed more specifically because of the problems encountered with this element, including sample homogeneity issues, memory effects and possible matrix effects during the ICP- MS measurement stage. Reference values, traceable to the SI, with total uncertainties of less than 2% relative expanded uncertainty (k=2) were obtained for Cd, Cu, Zn and Pb and around 5% for Hg and CH3Hg.
