Dynamic Impact Absorption Behaviour of Glass Coated with Carbon Nanotubes  [PDF]
Prashant Jindal, Meenakshi Goyal, Navin Kumar
Journal of Surface Engineered Materials and Advanced Technology (JSEMAT) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jsemat.2013.34034
Abstract:

Boro-silicate glass samples were coated with chemically treated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to study the resistance offered by the coatings under the high strain rate impact. Impact testing of these glass samples was performed on Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB), where strain rates were varied from 500/s to 3300/s. However, the comparisons were limited to samples subjected to a strain rate of 2300/s to 3000/s so that the effect of only variable deposits of coatings on the stress-strain behavior of glass can be studied. Variable deposits (0.1 mg to 0.8 mg) of MWCNTs were coated uniformly on glass samples having a disc shape with a fixed surface area (79 mm2) to observe the effect of the coating on the impact absorption capacity of glass. It was observed that the small thickness of about 25 μm formed due to the fact that 0.2 mg of MWCNTs deposit spread over the surface increased the impact absorption capacity of the glass pieces by nearly 70%. However, beyond this amount when the deposit was increased to 0.4 mg, the coating thickness got doubled to nearly 49 μm and this led to a fall in absorption capacity which remained static till

Journal of Analytical Sciences, Methods and Instrumentation (JASMI) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jasmi.2013.34023
Abstract:

4-hydrazinobenzoic acid has been highlighted as one of the potential genotoxic impurities (PGIs). A sensitive HPLC method was developed and validated for the determination of 4-hydrazino benzoic acid in Deferasirox Tablet. HPLC method on Zorbax SB C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm i.d.), 5 μm, with UV Detector was used. The proposed method was cost effective, specific, linear, accurate, rugged and precise. The calibration curves showed good linearity over the concentration range of 0.5 μg/ml to 1.5 μg/ml with respect to the sample. The correlation coefficient was 0.999. Excellent recoveries of 102% were obtained at the level 0.5 μg/ml.

Bufferless NOC Simulation of Large Multicore System on GPU Hardware
Navin Kumar,Aryabartta Sahu
Computer Science , 2015,
Abstract: Last level cache management and core interconnection network play important roles in performance and power consumption in multicore system. Large scale chip multicore uses mesh interconnect widely due to scalability and simplicity of the mesh interconnection design. As interconnection network occupied significant area and consumes significant percent of system power, bufferless network is an appealing alternative design to reduce power consumption and hardware cost. We have designed and implemented a simulator for simulation of distributed cache management of large chip multicore where cores are connected using bufferless interconnection network. Also, we have redesigned and implemented the our simulator which is a GPU compatible parallel version of the same simulator using CUDA programming model. We have simulated target large chip multicore with up to 43,000 cores and achieved up to 25 times speedup on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 GPU over serial simulation.
Led-Based Visible Light Communication System: A Brief Survey and Investigation
Navin Kumar,Nuno Rafael Lourenco
Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences , 2012, DOI: 10.3923/jeasci.2010.296.307
Abstract: The study investigates on Light Emitting Diode (LED) based Visible Light Communication (VLC) systems. Starting with a short review on High Brightness (HB) LEDs and their recent performances reaching up to 100 Lm W-1, the researchers examine the processes and techniques of using light emitted by LEDs as a medium for carrying data. The technology exploits the inherent high rate switching characteristic of these devices. In addition, investigation on different modulation techniques is explained. Recent developments in VLC and its potential application areas are discussed. A prognosis for future trend, functional requirements and challenges are also discussed.
An Analysis of Sex Trade and Microfinance for Rehabilitation of the Commercial Sex Workers

Sherub Doeme : The Research Journal of Sherubtse College , 2012,
Abstract: The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) has increasingly become an issue of global magnitude attracting major global concern. Worldwide, estimated one million children (mainly girls) enter the multi-million dollar commercial sex trade every year. According to UNICEF Executive Director Carol Bellamy, “Millions of children throughout the world are being bought and sold like chattel and used as sex slaves”. Since the 20th century, demand in the world market is rising. In this new world market, countries like Thailand and Philippines facilitate by developing agents having disregarded the development of women’s opportunities for economic independence, leaving prostitution as the highest paying job available to many of the women of Southeast Asia. Uneven development and institutionalized greed of the society leads to integration of economies and social formations, which is to be considered for the success of most of the trade in the dynamic world. Trade in human beings for sex industry work and the continued trafficking of women and children is a major human rights violation and also a serious health issue. The population explosions, the obstinacy of governments in eradicating the trade, and the unimpressive efforts by international agencies all relate to the sex trade’s inextricable situation in international economic growth and particularly in South Asian Countries. On one side, the economic development expands the markets, wealth and standard of living in the society but on the other side, it creates great poverty and lost opportunities for those on the border-side. In the midst of government, International human rights efforts, NGOs involvement and allegations between nations, the larger issues often get hidden. This study focuses on the causes of the extensive trade in South Asian women for sex slavery and importance of microfinance for their rehabilitations.

Abstract: In this article we take consideration of a two warehouse inventory problems with exponential and time dependent increasing trend in demand for deteriorating items under inflation. Shortage is allowed and partially backlogged .The scheduling period is taken to be variable and not constant. The solution procedure provided here helps the decision maker to decide whether to rent a warehouse or not .The result have been validated with help of some numerical example and comprehensive sensitivity analysis has also be performed.
An Analysis of the Social System and Planning Problems for the Economic Development
Kailash Pati,Navin Kumar Jha
Sherub Doeme : The Research Journal of Sherubtse College , 2012,
Abstract: Economic growth is tied with planning in the modern world. It is widely believed that if a country seeks to uplift its economy it must adopt the path of planning. The word “Planning” itself is, however, ambiguous. It is used with many meanings. It has been known to cover the shooting of those who disagree, or it may mean nothing more than consultation, making sure that all interested parties are properly informed about each other’s and the government’s intentions. It may involve the setting of targets with no compulsion to achieve them, but with certain inducements to try, setting up of targets with a larger number of physical controls to back them up. And it can mean no more than the attempt to work out what needs to be done if a given objective is to be achieved. In reality, planning has become a part of human life in every civilized society. Plans are the outcome of necessity. It is always wise to plan than to do and undertake any work without planning. Planning paves the direction and procedure to attain any goal or objectives. Planning now touches the lives of all of us at numerous points and no one, can afford to be ignorant about its principle and practice. Planning is a part of life and relevant to all of us. The house wife plans her budget and allocates her time and the businessman similarly budgets his time and resources.

Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-63982012000200007
Abstract: over the past few decades, significant economic and political changes have taken place around the world. these changes also have put a significant mark on language teaching and learning practices across the globe. there is a clear movement towards multilingual practices in the world, which is also evident in the title of unesco 2003 education position paper, "education in a multilingual world." given the long-standing history of multilingual contexts of the himalayan region and the emergence of the two major global economic power centers of 21st century, china and india, language policies and practices of the region have become a great matter of interests for linguists and policy makers around the world. this paper uses case studies to investigate how globalization influences language education policies and practices in multilingual countries. the case studies that we have drawn from the four nations of south east asia - afghanistan, china, india, and nepal offer insights for other multilingual nations of the world, as they portray the influences of globalization on language policies and practices of multilingual countries. this paper suggests more research on comparative studies of multilingual education across multilingual nations in the world.
Prediction of Users Behavior through Correlation Rules
Navin Kumar Tyagi,A. K. Solanki
International Journal of Advanced Computer Sciences and Applications , 2011,
Abstract: Web usage mining is an application of Web mining which focus on the extraction of useful information from usage data of severs logs. In order to improve the usability of a Web site so that users can more easily find and retrieve information they are looking for, we proposed a recommendation methodology based on correlation rules. A correlation rule is measured not only by its support and confidence but also by the correlation between itemsets. Proposed methodology recommends interesting Web pages to the users on the basis of their behavior discovered from web log data. Association rules are generated using FP growth approach and we used two criteria for selecting interesting rules: Confidence and Cosine measure. We also proposed an algorithm for the recommendation process.
