Abstract: We show that each R-module is n-flat (resp., weakly n-flat) if and only if R is an (n,n−1)-ring (resp., a weakly (n,n−1)-ring). We also give a new characterization of n-Von Neumann regular rings and a characterization of weak n-Von Neumann regular rings for (CH)-rings and for local rings. Finally, we show that in a class of principal rings and a class of local Gaussian rings, a weak n-Von Neumann regular ring is a (CH)-ring.

Symptoms begin in childhood and may persist into adolescence and adulthood. Currently available pharmacological treatment options for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in children and adolescents include stimulants that are efficacious and well tolerated; however, many of these preparations require multiple daily dosing and have the potential for abuse. Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate, the first prodrug stimulant, was developed to provide a longer duration of effect. It demonstrates a predictable delivery of the active drug, d-amphetamine, with low interpatient variability, and has a reduced potential for abuse. A literature search of the MEDLINE database and clinical trials register from 1995–2011, as well as relevant abstracts presented at annual professional meetings, on lisdexamfetamine dimesylate in children and adolescents were included for review. This article presents the pharmacokinetic profile, efficacy, and safety of lisdexamfetamine dimesylate for the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in children and, more recently, in adolescents.

Abstract: Dysplasia in ulcerative colitis was defined as an unequivocal neoplastic change that is intraepithelial and within the confinement of the glandular basement membrane1. Although that definition has stood the test of time and the classification is still the golden standard, the recommendations of treatment and follow up has significantly debated and changed. The purpose of this lecture is to outline the difficulties and controversies associated with dysplasia.

Abstract: This paper proposes the exploration of the use of Backward Chaining as one of the many methods utilized in the automated approach to events’ analysis in the area of computer forensics. In addition, steps to be taken are outlined in developing an expert system that implements such a method. The new method compliments other methods that traditionally focus on searching files and performing pattern matching. Specifically, this approach is explored to complement other advanced tools in automated data analysis.

Abstract: We build a model in groupoids for the Swiss-Cheese operad, based on parenthesized permutations and braids, and we relate algebras over this model to the classical description of algebras over the homology of the Swiss-Cheese operad. We extend our model to a rational model for the Swiss-Cheese operad, and we compare it to the model that we would get if the operad Swiss-Cheese were formal.

Abstract: This paper describes a numerical solution for two dimensional partial differential equations modeling (or arising from) a fluid flow and transport phenomena. The diffusion equation is discretized by the Nodal methods. The saturation equation is solved by a finite volume method. We start with incompressible single-phase flow and move step-by-step to the black-oil model and compressible two phase flow. Numerical results are presented to see the performance of the method, and seem to be interesting by comparing them with other recent results.
Stereoselective High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry Method for Determination of R- and S-Acenocoumarol in Human Plasma and Its Application in a Pharmacokinetics Study  [PDF]

Abstract: A stereoselective, sensitive and rapid liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MSMS) method for the determination of R-acenocoumarol and S-acenocoumarol in human plasma was developed and validated at IPRC bioanalytical labs. The procedure involved solid phase extraction of both enantiomers and their corresponding internal standard. The chromatographic separation was accomplished employing a chiral column and proper mobile phase. Detection was carried out using Waters Micromass® Quattro Premier mass spectrometer in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode using turbo ion spray with negative ionization. The method was validated over a linear range of 0.40 - 40.00 ng/ml for R-acenocoumarol and 0.20 - 20.00 ng/ml for the S-acenocoumarol. Method validation covered different parameters such as linearity, accuracy, precision and stability. The method was successfully applied for the determination of R and S-acenocoumarol in plasma samples of 28 healthy subjects who participated in a pharmacokinetics study.

Abstract: Infrared spectroscopy of the 28SiD3F molecule around 888 cm-1 The n3 fundamental band (A1 888.898 cm-1) of 28SiD3F molecule have been studied by FTIR spectroscopy with a resolution of 2.4 x 10-3 cm-1. More than 2000 lines have been assigned and fitted with a standard deviation of 0.19 x 10-3 cm-1 and ten molecular parameters have been calculated.
