A REVIEW OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INNOVATION RESEARCH
NAGY Andrea
Annals of the University of Oradea : Economic Science , 2012,
Abstract: Innovation plays a vital role in a companya€ s development and in helping it keep up with new technologies and customersa€ highest expectations. A large number of publications on tourism innovation reflect the interest of many authors in this topic. In the past few years several authors have approached tourism innovation, developed models of innovation in tourism, analyzed innovation types or the factors that influence innovation in this field. The purpose of this paper is to review the existing literature on tourism innovation and to identify the main research tendencies in this area of interest. Therefore, we searched for keywords like a€ tourism innovationa€ , a€ hospitality innovationa€ or a€ service innovationa€ in several databases such as Science Direct, Emerald, Sage Publications and The Center for Hospitality Research of Cornell University. Because this study focuses on tourism and hospitality innovation, there were analyzed 17 research papers regarding these aspects. Relevant findings such as factors that influence innovation in tourism and hospitality (hotelsa€ size, category and chain structure, introduction of ICTs, employee involvement and commitment, customer or guest requests etc.), types of innovation implemented in this area and correlations between innovationsa€ success and hotel performance were highlighted.
APPRECIATIONS REGARDING THE AGRICULTURE FINANCING LEVEL AND METHODS
V. GO?A,ANDREA NAGY
Lucr?ri ?tiin?ifice : Management Agricol , 2008,
Abstract: The instruments and mechanisms of intervention and financial support applied in Romania in various transition steps had an administrative effect, without a strategy established in concordance with some documented analyses, fact that did not determine the concretization of the financial effort in an adequate evolution of the agriculture and rural area on the whole. Public funds for agricultural support, after the adherence to the EU, prove to be insufficient, so that the designing of our own system of agriculture financing, with the help of the bank credit, becomes a must.
FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND THE PROBLEMS OF DURABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT
V. GO?A,ANDREA NAGY
Lucr?ri ?tiin?ifice : Management Agricol , 2008,
Abstract: The public funds provided by the EU budget (8022.3 million euro) destined for the financing of the rural development measures comprised within the National Program for Rural Development, for 2007-2013, represent an important sum, of more than 8 milliard euro. The analysis on the destinations of this sums per measures rearranged into fields of activity leads to the conclusion that the agricultural financial support represent only 14.7%, non-agricultural activities 19.9% and infrastructure development 20.2%, requiring a remarkable financial effort, but insufficient, to relaunch the rural economy.
OVERVIEW OF THE RURAL DEVELOPMENT POLICY FRAMEWORK FOR THE 2007-2013 PROGRAMMING PERIOD
ANDREA NAGY,V. GO?A
Lucr?ri ?tiin?ifice : Management Agricol , 2008,
Abstract: Rural development policy seeks to establish a coherent and sustainable framework for the future of Europe's rural areas. In September 2005, the Council of Ministers adopted a Rural Development regulation for the period 2007-2013. Rural Development will be implemented through one fund, one management and control system and one type of programming. The aims of the policy have been simplified and clarified around three clearly defined economic, environmental and territorial objectives: improving the competitiveness of agriculture and forestry; improving the environment and the countryside; improving the quality of life in rural areas and encouraging diversification of economic activity.
AGRICULTURAL LABOUR – RELEVANT FACTOR IN THE ASSESSMENT OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT
ANDREA NAGY,V. GO?A
Lucr?ri ?tiin?ifice : Management Agricol , 2008,
Abstract: Agricultural labour is a relevant factor to consider in the assessment of rural development policies, and especially complex due to the increasing relevance of mixed on-farm and off-farm work in Europe. Within the EU, there is a marked difference in farm structures between Northern/Western and Southern/Eastern regions, with the average size of holdings much smaller in the latter (with the exception of remaining collective farming in some new member states such as Slovakia and Czech Republic and Eastern Germany). In the latter states, the percentage of population that works in part-time in agriculture is much bigger (more than 80%) compared to the countries from North-West Europe, and the occupation of the available time represents a must for the development of agricultural exploitations; this process requires, beside the reduction of the population employed in agriculture by attracting it to other sectors, the development of pluriactivity and the part-time employment of exploitations’ members in other non-agricultural activities.
TRENDS IN ROMANIAN TOURISM
Pirjol Florentina,Maxim Raluca Georgiana,Nagy Andrea
Annals of the University of Oradea : Economic Science , 2011,
Abstract: Tourism is an industry of the future, having the potential to provide significant revenues, and an industry of 'beauty', because it will protect, preserve and contribute to arranging the environment affected by other human activities. This is why it is very important to know the evolution of this underdeveloped field in our country. This paper is intended as a study on current trends in Romanian tourism without any claim of being an exhaustive research on the industry, describing the main indices of tourist traffic and their influence on Romanian tourism. Nowadays, we witness three main trends in Romanian tourism: sustainability, ecotourism and the increasing presence of cultural tourism. Ecotourism, as a form of tourism, has emerged from people's need to withdraw in nature, to visit and learn about the natural areas which have or have not a national or international protection status. Cultural tourism appears as a type of tourism clearly differentiated from other forms or types of tourism, particularly through motivation. It can be defined as a form of tourist mobility whose primary goal is broadening the horizon of knowledge by uncovering its architectural and artistic heritage and the areas in which it originates. Sustainability for tourism, as for other industries, has three independent aspects: economic, socio-cultural and environmental. Sustainability implies permanence, which means that sustainable tourism requires the optimal use of resources, minimizing the negative economic, socio-cultural and ecological impact, maximizing the benefits upon local communities, national economies and conservation of nature. Regarding statistical data, in what quantity is concerned, there is an increase in Romanian tourism, but in what quality is concerned there is a setback for tourism in the last years. This aspect should make public authorities take concern in improving the infrastructure and the quality of the touristical activity and in diversifying entertainment.
Quantum Tic-Tac-Toe: A Genuine Probabilistic Approach  [PDF]
Marius Nagy, Naya Nagy
Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/am.2012.331243
Abstract: We propose a quantum version of Tic-Tac-Toe which accurately reflects the inherent probabilistic nature of the measurement principle in quantum mechanics. We then formulate a quantum strategy which allows a quantum player to consistently win over a classical player, with a certain probability. This result can be seen as another proof of the superior computational power of a quantum system with respect to a classical one. Our investigation also reveals that the non-determinism and complexity introduced by the principles of quantum mechanics into even the most simple games make brute-force strategies considerably more difficult to implement. Consequently, games in which machines have gained the upper hand over humans may be made fair again by upgrading them to a quantum level.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to investigate the concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface water of the Hungarian upper section of the Danube River in the period of 2007-2010. A total of 77 water samples were collected from the sampling sites located at Rajka, Medve and Komárom (1848, 1806 and 1766 river km) under the authority of the Inspectorate for Environment, Nature and Water of the North Transdanubian Region designated by the Hungarian National Monitoring Programme. Sixteen PAHs identified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) as priority pollutants were monitored. Concentrations of total 16 PAHs (ΣPAHs) ranged from 25 to 357 ng·L-1 with the mean value of 98.27 ± 58.48 ng·L-1. The low and medium molecular weight PAHs (2-3 and 4 ring) ranged from below method detection limit (<1) to 136 ng·L-1 while high molecular weight PAHs (5-6 ring) were present at much lower concentrations (<1-25 ng·L-1). The 2-3-ring PAHs contributed to about 64% while 4-6-ring PAHs accounted for 36% of the ΣPAHs. The dominant species are naphthalene and phenanthrene in the surface water. Concentration ratios of specific PAH compounds including anthracene/(anthracene+phenanthrene) and fluoranthene/(fluoranthene+pyrene) were calculated to evaluate the possible sources of PAH contamination. The levels of ΣPAHs determined in our study were compared with other sections of the Danube and other regions of the world.

Physics , 2009,
Abstract: We have investigated polyyne and cumulene prototypes based on the density-functional theory. Our independent-particle spectra show that the various carbynes can be distinguished by optical properties comparing the low-energy spectral structure as well as using very general considerations. The latter conclusion is supported by results based on the random-phase approximation including local-field effects.
