NATURAL ENVIRONMENT PERCEPTION IN TURKISH PROVERBS AND ITS’ IMPORTANCE IN TERMS OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Abstract: In this study, it has been analyzed that the perception of the natural environment and the importance of environmental education over the Turks in Turkish proverbs which is one of the important building blocks of folk culture. In the introduction, after a theoretical knowledge base about the natural environment and human interaction have been established, information is given about the basic concepts of the study such as Turkish culture-proverbial relationships and importance of proverbs in terms of environmental education. In other parts of the study, it has been analyzed that how they perceive Turkish vegetation, animals, climate, soil and water in terms of the environmental value based on 507 Turkish proverbs which were searched and included in the study from different sources related to the natural environment. It has been seen in the examination that Turks have great importance of proverbs that contains climate on the perception of the natural environment of the first place, and it is followed by proverbs about the climate and animals. It was put forward that the proverbs which are etched in public memory is very important in terms of environmental education.
Measuring Students’ Attitudes Towards Social Studies Homeworks: Developing an Attitude scale

Abstract: Learning includes what a student obtains from the school, home and the other social environments. While preparing a learning task, most teachers aim to formulate their problems modelled from the real life situations. However, most of the times they end up with those isolated and distant problem-situations, because they also feel themselves obliged to present students plain and comprehensible tasks. As a result, a disconnection between school learning and real life situation occurs. One aim of giving students homeworks is to build a bridge between home and school, which will make it easier for students to transfer their school learning to the real life situations. Homeworks play important roles in fulfillig the purpose of the learning processes. In other words, homeworks assist teachers in teaching of accesing information resources, thinking meaningully and doing reserach, developing causation and problem solving skills and updating their subject knowledge-information. Homeworks also help students to improve their communicative and entrepreneurial capacities.
Novel Feedback Calculation Technique for Improved Transmit Scheme

Abstract: Extended balanced space-time block coding (EBSTBC) is able to achieve large coding gain and guarantee full diversity for any number of transmit antennas. Performance of the EBSTBC has been improved with improved transmit scheme (ITS) which is combination of the EBSTBC with transmit antenna selection. Performance of the ITS with a limited number of feedback bits approaches to performance of ideal beamforming which requires ideal channel state information at the transmitter. However, the calculation of feedback information at the receiver employs exhaustive searching scheme which is very complex and energy inefficient process. In this work, a low complexity and energy efficient feedback information scheme for the ITS receiver is proposed. Theoretical and simulation results show that the calculation complexity of feedback information is decreased more than 87% and the proposed scheme yields the same bit error rate performance with the ITS. Moreover, the proposed scheme requires very low addition memory with respect to alternative schemes.

Abstract: cad remains a major global cause of morbidity and mortality. comprehensive drug development programs of novel pharmacological treatment strategies frequently utilize traditional mortality/morbidity endpoints studies and additional surrogate endpoints trials. this parallel approach allows an assessment of efficacy several years in advance of the availability of data from clinical endpoint trials. several atherosclerosis imaging markers have been introduced into these drug-development strategies, including angiography, carotid ultrasound, ivus, mri, and ct. this review will discuss the current status of atherosclerosis imaging as an endpoint in progression/regression trials, with an emphasis on evidence-based data. in addition to a discussion of the results of individual imaging modalities, the emerging data comparing different modalities and approaches are presented.

Electronic properties of layered multicomponent wide-bandgap oxides: a combinatorial approach

Abstract: The structural, electronic, and optical properties of twelve multicomponent oxides with layered structure, RAMO$_4$, where R$^{3+}$=In or Sc; A$^{3+}$=Al or Ga; and M$^{2+}$=Ca, Cd, Mg, or Zn, are investigated using first-principles density functional approach. The compositional complexity of RAMO$_4$ leads to a wide range of band gap values varying from 2.45 eV for InGaCdO$_4$ to 6.29 eV for ScAlMgO$_4$. Strikingly, despite the different band gaps in the oxide constituents, namely, 2-4 eV in CdO, In$_2$O$_3$, or ZnO; 5-6 for Ga$_2$O$_3$ or Sc$_2$O$_3$; and 7-9 eV in CaO, MgO, or Al$_2$O$_3$, the bottom of the conduction band in the multicomponent oxides is formed from the s-states of all cations and their neighboring oxygen p-states. We show that the hybrid nature of the conduction band in multicomponent oxides originates from the unusual five-fold atomic coordination of A$^{3+}$ and M$^{2+}$ cations which enables the interaction between the spatially-spread s-orbitals of adjacent cations via shared oxygen atoms. The effect of the local atomic coordination on the band gap, the electron effective mass, the orbital composition of the conduction band, and the expected (an)isotropic character of the electron transport in layered RAMO$_4$ is thoroughly discussed.
The Effect of Students’ Learning Styles to Their Academic Success  [PDF]

Abstract: This study was aimed to evaluate the learning styles of education faculty students and to determine the effect of their success and relationship between their learning styles and academic success. The popula- tion of this study is comprised of the students of Education Faculty in 19 May University and the sample includes 140: 68 art, 72 pre-school teacher department students. Depending on the results obtained from pre-test, it was aimed to improve students’ knowledge and skills in studying. There was a significant dif- ference between the scores of pre- and post-tests. The significant relationship between the scores of post-test and the student success revealed that they learned how to study effectively. The validity and re- liability of the test were determined by considering the Cronbach alpha coefficients for each and all of the items. The study has found statistically significant differences between the results of the first and final applications of the subtests on learning styles and academic success; those subtests covered the items as learning, planned study, effective reading, listening, writing, note taking, using the library, getting pre- pared for and taking exams, class participation and motivation.

Abstract: Kerberos is one of the solutions for network security problems since it provides strong secret key cryptography over the insecure networks. Through the Kerberos authentication protocol, a client can prove its identity to a server (and vice versa) across an insecure network connection such as on Internet. In this comparative research paper, the Kerberos authentication protocol is extended and strengthened using x.509 with the integration of newer authentication system which is compared with previous authentication systems. In addition to this, RSA encryption mechanism used to provide authentication and security for the most communication systems replaced with Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) encryption in Kerberos during authentication progress through simulation to expose possible efficient alternatives for key generation and to enhance security.
