Study of Wind Power Generation Using Slip Ring Induction Generator

Abstract: Wind energy is now firmly established as a mature technology for electricity generation. There are different types of generators that can be used for wind energy generation, among which Slip ring Induction generator proves to be more advantageous. To analyze application of Slip ring Induction generator for wind power generation, an experimental model is developed and results are studied. As power generation from natural sources is the need today and variable speed wind energy is ample in amount in India, it is necessary to study more beneficial options for wind energy generating techniques. From this need a model is developed by using Slip ring Induction generator which is a type of Asynchronous generator.
Magnetoelectric Coupling in Metglas/BaTiO3/Metglas Lead-Free Magnetoelectric Composites  [PDF]

Abstract: We report the magnetoelectric (ME) coupling in ME composites composed of NiFe2O4 (NFO) or metglas as magnetostrictive phases and BaTiO3 (BTO) as piezoelectric phase, targeting lead free magetnic field sensors. NFO and BTO phases were synthesized by solid state sintering method and further characterized by using XRD and FESEM techniques. The P-E hysteresis curve shows good ferroelectric behavior with saturation polarization of Ps = 15.87 C/cm2 and coercive electric field of 130 kV/cm. The ME response was characterized as a function of dc magnetic field at a fixed frequency. The transverse ME voltage coefficient, αME31 shows 2 times larger magnitude than that of longitudinal ME voltage coefficient, αME31. The maximum αME31 of 37 mV/cmOe (@Hdc = 250 Oe) is observed for NFO/BTO/NFO ME composites with thickness ratio of tm/tp = 1.0. The ME coupling is further enhanced by replacing NFO layers by highly magnetostrictive metglas layers. Metglas/BTO/metglas laminates show large αME31 value of 81 mV/cmOe at relatively lower Hdc of 145 Oe. The present laminates can offer promising opportunities of engineering environmental friendly ME laminate for applications in ME devices such as energy harvester and magnetic field sensors.

Abstract: Information available on internet is in unstructuredmanner, retrieving relevant documents containing the requiredinformation is difficult. Due to huge amount of data, queryspecificdocument summarization has become an importantproblem. It is difficult task for the user to go through all thesedocuments, as the number of documents available on particulartopic will be more. It will be helpful for the user if query specificdocument summery is generated. Comparing different clusteringalgorithms those provide better result for summarization. Basedon this we provide input as one query and get all the documentsrelated to that and on these document different clusteringalgorithm are used to get results of each Algorithm. Then thesealgorithms comparing results with each other in terms of speed,memory, and quality of summary. After comparison we candecide which algorithm is better for summarization. So it willhelp to find the better query dependent clustering algorithm fortext document summarization.
A novel approach for the detection of SYN Flood Attack

Abstract: Denial of service attack(DoS) is causing a serious and financial damage in recent years. They are performed easily by utilizing the weakness of the network protocol. There are many types of Dos attack namely IP spoofing SYN Flood. If should be notable that the firewall host hardly filters the SYN flood attacks, and the spoofed IP address keeps the position of the attacker from being traced.(edit the sentence).Therefore it is important for network administers to develop means to comprehend the latest trend of DoS attack. In this paper firstly we proposed the detection method of SYN flooding attack , secondly show the applicability of our method with prospective evaluation results and in the finally section mentioned the future scope of our method.
Studies on Electrochemical Deposition and Characterization of Co3o4 Films

Abstract: The Co3O4 films are prepared using two steps method. Initially, the films are electrochemically deposited on stainless steel and copper substrates from the solution containing CoSO4 and H3BO3 at various molar concentrations (0.05, 0.09, 0.13, 0.17, 0.21, 0.25 and 0.28 M) of CoCl2 in deposition bath. These as-deposited films are transformed into Co3O4 phase by heating them at 350 °C / 2 hr. These as-heated films are characterized by using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. From the characterization studies, the as-heated films are found to be containing single cubic spinel Co3O4 phase with high purity. The variation in molar concentration of CoCl2 in electrochemical deposition bath showed the profound effect on optical properties of Co3O4 films. The better optical properties, (i) absorptance (α) = 0.945, emittance (ε) = 0.071 and (ii) absorptance (α) = 0.950, emittance (ε) = 0.070 are obtained for the Co3O4 films prepared on stainless steel and copper substrates respectively at 0.28 M concentration of CoCl2 as compared to the data reported in literature. The strength and adhesion of as-heated films on both the substrates are found to be good for the molar concentrations of CoCl2 < 0.28 M.

Abstract: This paper reports the design, fabrication and characterization of single-sided silicon microstrip sensors with integrated biasing resistors and coupling capacitors, produced for the first time in India. We have first developed a prototype sensor on a four-inch wafer. After finding suitable test procedures for characterizing these AC coupled sensors, we have fine-tuned various process parameters in order to produce sensors with the desired specifications.

Abstract: The detailed anatomy of TMJ of sheep was explored so that it could be used as an experimental animal for study of condylar growth. The experimental animal was a 3 month old sheep, head of which was procured from a local abettor. The results showed that the sheep is an excellent experimental model for the study of condylar growth, with and without the use of functional appliances, because of similarity in anatomy related to size, shape and position of the condyle to that of human beings. Thus, it is concluded that the study will help future investigators in the field of dentistry to consider the sheep as an experimental animal for further research.
Effects of Harmonics on Power Loss in XLPE Cables  [PDF]

Harmonics in power systems is increasingly at high level. Also, there has been an incredible growth in the use of cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) cables in distribution systems. Harmonics cause additional power loss/temperature rise; causing premature failure of cables. Catastrophic failure of power cables leads to great inconvenience to consumers and loss of system reliability and money. To avoid the overheating of power cables; the additional power loss due to harmonics should be accurately calculated and properly accommodated by derating the cable. The present method of calculating the power loss in cables in harmonics rich environment is very arduous. The aim of this paper is to present the reasonably accurate method for evaluating effects of harmonics on the power loss in XLPE cables. Computational model is developed in MATLAB for power loss calculation using conventional method. Using this model, calculations are performed for aluminium and copper conductor XLPE cables of different size and type; for three different types of harmonics spectrums having total harmonics distortion (THD) of 30.68%, including all odd harmonics components up to 49th order. Using these results; a mathematical model in the form of simple empirical formula is developed by curve fitting technique. The results obtained by various models are presented and compared with error justification.

Abstract: Tonsillectomy once was a most common ENT procedure, being referred in past as the “bread and butter of otorhinolaryngologists” though not so commonly performed these days. The usual complications of this procedure have been haemorrhage-primary/reactionary/secondary, infection, tonsillar bed structures injury, and even death. With the advent of newer technologies like lasers, microdebriders, coblators, harmonic scalpel, radiofrequency, newer complications also arise. This case report focuses on one such complication of laser assisted tonsillectomy, not much spoken of in books.

Abstract: Guduchi is being used as a rejuvenating herb in Ayurveda and other system of medicine since many decades. Guduchi is prescribed as a monoherbal as well as polyherbal formulation. The herb has free radical scavenging properties against reactive oxygen and nitrogen. Due to its Rasayana (free radical scavenging property) it was decided to evaluate efficacy of its juice in growth of children by comparing with standard growth charts developed by National centre for health statistics. 30 Children of age group 6 to 8 years were recruited in the trial. Children were assessed and evaluated on the basis of objective and subjective parameters at interval of 15 days for 3 months. Mean weight of children at baseline of study was 19.99 ± 1.59 kg and was increased moderately to 20.64 ± 1.57 kg (at 12th wk). Mean score of skin luster was 0.43 ± 0.5 and it was increased significantly to 1.17 ± 0.37. Diet intake of these children at baseline was 0.467 ± 0.51 and in was increased significantly to 1.63 ± 0.48. These findings suggest that juice of Tinospora cordifolia is an effective, safe, and herbal formulation for the children growth.
