Columba Monroy Ortiz,Rafael Monroy
Mora Monroy Gilberto,Guillot Monroy Gabriel Hernando
CADENA MONROY,LUIS ALVARO;
Acta Biológica Colombiana , 2009,
Abstract: some pitfalls of three currently accepted evolutionary approaches are discussed: gradualism, neutralism and punctuated equilibrium. though two of them refer to change rates, and the other one (neutralism) refers to the absence of selection at the microscopic level, these three proposals are considered due to the relevancy that they have in the context of the bibliography on evolution. an approach is sketched that integrates them and solves the weaknesses of each one. i suggest that the evolutionary process has two fundamental phases. in the first one, organisms create their ecological niche. this is a period of -reverse selection-; in which organism have the initiative. later, a second phase of -normal selection- is set up, and it is the newly created niche that selects among variant organisms (normal selection). this latter process is possible, only if the period of -reversed selection- can be framed into a more general trend of evolutionary change. i discuss two proposals in which the notion of -reverse selection- is applied: the evolutionary origin of chordata and the evolution towards homo sapiens.
Villalobos Monroy,Guadalupe;
Educere , 2007,
Abstract: violence is a phenomenon that has existed during the diferent stages through which humanity has gone through, with expressions in diferent forms of social organization and in the diferent spheres in which individuals interact. there are diferent approaches for the study of violence, and from each of this we can take a series of ideas, recommendations and even prescriptions to avoid this phenomenon that in current times has increased, and thus claiming more victims daily, mainly people from the most vulnerable groups (women, children and the elderly, mainly)
Tratamiento quirúrgico de la enfermedad de Crohn
Takeshi Takahashi, Monroy;
Gaceta médica de México , 2005,
Abstract: objective: the experience with the surgical treatment of crohn's disease is analyzed in order to determine the indications for surgery, surgical procedures, postoperative complications and associated risk factors, and recurrence rates. material and methods: retrolective analysis of patients operated upon for crohn's disease between 1979 and 1997. risk factors for operative morbidity were searched, and actuarial curves for recurrence of disease were constructed. results: there were 34 patients with a mean age of 46 years. all patients were operated upon because of complications; the most frequent ones were stenosis and obstruction. the affected patterns were ileocecal in 53%, colitis in 35% and small bowel in 12%. segmental resections were the most frequent ones, mainly ileo cecal. operative morbidity was 32% and mortality 6%. the presence of colonic affection and the necessity o f its resection was a higher risk for complications (p<0.05). actuarial recurrence was 39% at 107 months. conclusions: surgery for crohn's disease was mainly indicated in complications, presented high rates of morbidity associated with colonic involvement and resections, and there were high rates of recurrence at long term.
Monroy Casas,Rafael;
Estudios filológicos , 2002, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132002003700005
Abstract: the study of the spanish intonation system has received uneven but increasing attention since navarro tomás' publication of his manual in 1944. nevertheless, little has been published on the intonational characteristics of the different spanish accents. using jakobson's framework, we try to describe the main intonation features of murcian spanish from a purely functional perspective, an accent spoken in southeastern spain. results show that there is a marked tendency towards a narrow pitch range use. the different attitudinal meanings are reflected in the tonal heads, where falling and stepping movements are frequent. it seems to be a typical feature of this accent the recourse to suspensive or slightly ascending or descending tones, particularly in cases where acquiescence or explanations are used with illocutionary force. it is particularly striking, for it goes against standard spanish practices, the use of a descending low tone in indirect questions as response to a pronominal question of a yes/no type.
Nasr, Rebeca Monroy;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742007000200002
Abstract: in this article the author invites the reader to study and analyze the photographs from different points of view and from a wide angle intellectual theory, with the inter, trans and multiple disciplines of social studies. the specialists should get involved within different elements that create the image in a certain historical period of time. looking at the images is not just seeing them, its important also to observe other items like the technical, formal, thematic and ideological aspects. with the assistance of different authors, and theories it is possible to analyze the images and emphasize the key elements they relate. the author also analyzes through different photographers the way a photography is created, so is important to study also the photos since the point of view of the creator, to understand his professional and aesthetical interests, among other elements and also to get to know the primary social use of the image or the images in study. its also essential to comprehend the differences in between analog and digital photography, so the specialist can understand the difficulties, the proposes and also the tricks photographers uses to create the image. to recognize these elements within the frame of the historic, social, economic, cultural and aesthetic moment of production of the document or the images being studied will bring a great quantity of information to observe, reconstruct and understand them with a better or a realistic wide comprehension angle. through different examples of mexican, north american, british and latin- american photographers, with various photographs, and references to theoretical and analytic authors like boris kossoy, peter burke, vilhem flusser, or the semiotic point of view of roland barthes or phillipe duboise, the author proposes to approach the world of images and to discover the mysterious language of analog and digital photography in these changing and enigmatic visual twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Dinámica de los grupos de investigación. El caso de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia: the case of the UniversidadNacional de Colombia's Faculty of Engineering
Monroy Varela,Sonia Esperanza;
Ingeniería e Investigación , 2011,
Abstract: this article was aimed at analysing the dynamics of the universidadnacionalde colombia's faculty of engineering' sresearch groups in bogotá from three different perspectives. the first was related to the research groups' academic and scientific productivity according to colciencias' measurement model which ranks groups into five categories: a1, a, b, c and d. the second analysed the groups as management and knowledge generationunits,aiming to improve institutional/organisational development and learning. the third perspective adopted complexity theory' spoint of view which is related to the diversity of heterogeneous elements which are inseparably associated with a specific situation in which the whole consists of the interacting parts which, in turn, are in contact with the whole and with their environment.
