Achieving a response from fast-growing companies: the case of Slovenian gazelles
Mojca Bavda,Mateja Drnov?ek,Ale?a Lotri? Dolinar
Economic and Business Review , 2009,
Abstract: Non-mandatory business surveys generally suffer from low response rates and potential non-response bias. Achieving a response is most problematic in small- and medium-sized enterprises because of their scarce human resources. The problem becomes exacerbated in fast-growing companies – ‘gazelles’. The paper addresses the effectiveness of data collection efforts to achieve a response among the top Slovenian gazelles in 2008. We analyse the impact on response rates and data quality. Finally, we look for evidence of non-response bias.

Mojca Pelko
Knji?nica : Revija za Podro?je Bibliotekarstva in Informacijske Znanosti , 1997,
Abstract: The article discusses the damage on library materials due to bad microclimatic conditions and unsuitable stacks in the Miran Jarc Library. The findings are based on the measurements of microclimatic conditions (temperature, humidity, lightning, the speed of air flow) on sixteen locations. The measured parameters were compared to the recommended values, and the anticipated alarming conditions were confirmed. The most outstanding problem is relative humidity which is too high on ali measured locations, including at the lending desks. In the conclusion, the improvement of conditions is suggested which at the given moment is stili acceptable and financially possible for the library.

Are wind farms a problematic project?
Mojca Golobi?
Urbani Izziv , 2005,
Abstract: In the post-transition period the system and its actors haven’t adjusted accordingly, despite the fairly long and successful practise of planning and decision-making concerning physical development. While sailing such stormy seas and avoiding the Scylla of technocracy and Charydbis of corporativism, everything gets tossed around, once one way, the other, the next, and there is no evidence of approaching quiet waters of professionally supported participative decision-making. Planning and decision-making nevertheless have a key role in the creation of acceptable or problematic projects. The article uses the example of the quest and identification for a site for wind generators in Slovenia to illustrate the condition’s symptom. Following analyses of the applied harmonisation and argumentation methods in various decision-making forms, the weaknesses of professional-technocratic and consultative-corporativistic approaches and informal public debates are shown, as well as the advantages and possibilities enabled by the applied methods in the quest for concordant solutions.
Children in the city
Mojca Golobi?
Urbani Izziv , 1999,
Abstract: Child’s play is a spatial and social activity, its contents and course being closely related to the whole of the child’s living environment. Spatial limitation of playing in formal children’s playgrounds is in contradiction with what the freedom of choice and a possibility to shape one’s own environment mean to children. Children tend to play everywhere and anywhere. In urban areas children like choosing informal semi-public and public areas – such as streets, pavements, driveways or small green patches – for their play. Regardless, the fact stands that space is used by children differently than by adults, such planning could improve the quality of the environment also for the majority of other users.
